Education / The Importance Of Early Childhood Education In Nigeria by nensamuel: 11:47am On Nov 23, 2017
Simply put, a child’s early years lay the foundation for all that is to come. In recent years, researchers have learned that the human brain develops the vast majority of its neurons, and is at its most receptive to learning, between birth and three years of age. In fact, the intake of new information is critical to the formation of active neural pathways (Shonkoff & Phillips, 2000).

Early education can play a critical role during this important developmental period. Research linking early intervention to both cognitive and socio-emotional gains has fueled the proliferation of early childhood programs since the early part of the twentieth century.

The last four decades in particular have produced many new practices and principles for use in the classroom with young children, as well as countless books, videos, and activities to enrich the home environment. Several states have announced plans to implement universal preschool programs. In the last five years, the Federal government has produced several critically important books on early childhood education (Bowman, Donovan, & Burns, 2001; Shonkoff & Phillips, 2000; Snow, Burns, & Griffin, 1998) and has provided record contributions for the development and dissemination of effective practices.

Early childhood is a crucial stage of life in terms of a child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Growth of mental and physical abilities progress at an astounding rate and a very high proportion of learning takes place from birth to age six. It is a time when children particularly need high quality personal care and learning experiences.

The Early Stage of Education

Education begins from the moment the child is brought home from the hospital and continues on when the child starts to attend playgroups and kindergartens. The learning capabilities of humans continue for the rest of their lives but not at the intensity that is demonstrated in the preschool years. With this in mind, babies and toddlers need positive early learning experiences to help their intellectual, social and emotional development and this lays the foundation for later school success.

Early child education is about honing and molding the holistic child, which will eventually form the basis of their lifelong journey.Early childhood education is beneficial for children ages 3, 4 and 5. It's also often referred to as preschool, pre-kindergarten, day care, nursery school or early education.

No matter the name, each serves the same purpose: to prepare young children for their transition into elementary school. Sending your preschool-age child to one of these early childhood education programs can make a positive impact on her and give her a head start toward a bright future.

Early childhood education (ECE; also nursery education) is a branch of education theory which relates to the teaching of young children (formally and informally) up until the age of about eight. Infant/toddler education, a subset of early childhood education, denotes the education of children from birth to age two.

It emerged as a field of study during the Enlightenment, particularly in European countries with high literacy rates. It continued to grow through the nineteenth century as universal primary education became a norm in the Western world. In recent years, early childhood education has become a prevalent public policy issue, as municipal, state, and federal lawmakers consider funding for preschool and pre-K.[3][4][5] It is described as an important period in child's development. It refers to the all-round development of a child's personality.

ECE is also a professional designation earned through a post-secondary education program. For example, in Ontario, Canada, the designations ECE (Early Childhood Educator) and RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) may only be used by registered members of the College of Early Childhood Educators, which is made up of accredited child care professionals who are held accountable to the College's standards of practice.

What Is So Important About Early Childhood Education?

Many people have reservations about the importance of pre-kindergarten education. This was clearly manifest in 2006 when the California legislature unsuccessfully attempted to pass a law that would make pre-school education mandatory for all children. Many Californians did not agree with the importance of using tax payer funds to fund mandatory pre-school programs, including parents desiring to educate their children themselves.

Research has shown that children enrolled in Head Start programs benefit by receiving formal education before kindergarten. According to some studies, children enrolled in these programs are more behaved and have higher IQ scores upon enrolling kindergarten than their peers without formal education. Likewise, it was shown that children enrolled in Head Start programs learned quicker than children not enrolled in these programs.

Critics of pre-kindergarten education claim the differences between children enrolled in pre-school programs and children not receiving formal education are only discernible during kindergarten, first, and second grade. During subsequent years, children who've not received formal education prior to kindergarten test at the same level and behave like their peers with pre-kindergarten formal education.

Therefore, Head Start children may be at an advantage for a couple of years, but after that, their classmates perform at similar levels. Another major problem with Head Start programs is that children qualifying for these programs usually come from families living below poverty-line, so these programs are not readily available for children from all backgrounds. However, children can receive formal education in other ways other than Head Start programs, including daycare and parents teaching their young children. Even though children in daycare programs can develop intellectually, children benefit most when parents stay at home with their children and educate them.

The Benefits of Early Childhood Education

Children taught at an early age usually benefit in the following ways:
1. Improved social skills,
2. Less or no need for special education instruction during subsequent school years,
3. Better grades, and
4. Enhanced attention spans.

Likewise, some researchers have concluded that young children enrolled in pre-school programs usually graduate from high school, attend college, have fewer behavioral problems, and do not become involved with crime in their adolescent and young adult years.

However, there is not one-size fits all instruction best suited for all children. While some children benefit immensely from pre-school, it may not be the best educational setting for other children. In most cases, children benefit most by receiving educational instruction from their parents. Parents must evaluate a child's unique personality before determining which program is best suited for a child since not all programs benefit children the same way.

In group settings, early childhood education provides kids with special skills. Children in these settings learn how to work well together, as a group or a team. This is particularly important for children without siblings at home. Goal setting is another topic that is taught through these learning programs. Children see the benefit of trying hard, focusing, and paying attention. Each of these will soon be crucial to future education years.

Other Importance of Early Childhood Education

In old days, people used to think that children don't have ability to distinguish what is right and wrong so there is no need to educate them in their early ages. However, even though it is true that they can't differentiate right or wrong, it is also true that children absorb everything what they hear and see like sponge and therefore early education is essential.

The education given in early childhood shapes foundation of the life and helps mental and academic development of child. It is very essential to recognize importance of early childhood education and how it effects to person's life.

By proving proper education in early childhood, children learn basic foundation of their whole life and also develop social, mental, and academic activities. Among many benefits of early childhood education, most fundamental reason is that education provided in five to eight years is very influential to what kind of person a child would grow up and is vital for academic and mental development of an individual.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: INDECENT DRESSING AMONG UNDERGRADUATES: A CASE STUDY OF THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, EKIADOLOR, EDO STATE

Effective curriculum and education in early childhood encourage and develop language skill and ability to acquire vocabulary. According to early childhood education research journal, most capacity of language skill of learning vocabulary, which is a foundation for literacy, develops by ages of three (Bouchard & Gilles, 2011). Bouchard and Gilles have studied the importance of encouraging language skills in early childhood and argued that educators who are in daycare services by age of five have lots of opportunities of stimulating practice that helps children to acquire language skills (Bouchard & Gilles, 2011).

Development in early childhood does not only affect to academic and physical activities, but also involves relationship with other people and emotional and cognitive development. People easily think children struggle to find their ego in adolescence; however children actually start to realize their identity in first eight years and inner capacity of imagination and self-image of gender roles start to develop.

Implications of the First Three Years

During the first three years parents will be the main influence in the child’s learning experience and education. What parents do and expose their children to have a vast impact on the development of the child. Parents sometimes forget that an interested parent can have a tremendous impact on a child’s education at any age. If the parents choose to participate in a Mothers and Toddlers group or child-care arrangements, including family babysitting or center-based child care, these all have the potential to provide high-quality, individualized, responsive, and stimulating experiences that will influence the child’s learning experience.

With this in mind, a child in a negative environment could also result in negative effects as well. This fact makes it essential that the environment that the child is placed in during these early years be as positive and intellectually stimulating as possible. Very strong relationships are imbedded in everyday routines that familiar caregivers provide. It is the primary caregiver that a child learns to trust and looks to for security and care.

Speech development is one of the first tools that a child will demonstrate in his/her lifelong education. Wordlessly at first, infants and toddlers begin to recognize familiar objects and to formulate the laws that systematically govern their properties. With encouragement through books and interaction, toddlers soon pick up vocabulary.

Learning through play

A child exploring comfortably due to having a secure attachment with caregiver.
Early childhood education often focuses on learning through play, based on the research and philosophy of Jean Piaget, which posits that play, meets the physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social needs (PILES) of children.

Children's curiosity and imagination naturally evoke learning when unfettered. Learning through play will allow a child to develop cognitively.[14] Thus, children learn more efficiently and gain more knowledge through activities such as dramatic play, art, and social games.

Importance of Play

Child development experts agree that play is very important in the learning and emotional development of all children. Play is multi-faceted. Although it should be a fun experience for the child, often many skills can be learned through play. Play helps children learn relationship and social skills, and develop values and ethics, Play should always be considered an essential part of a child’s early education.

Functional play helps children to develop motor and practice skills. This kind of play is normally done with toys or objects that are stackable, can be filled with water or sand or playing outdoors. Water play or sand play is a favorite amongst pre-school children and a valuable teaching tool. This type of play can make up about 50% of the type of play those toddlers through 3year-old children practice.

Learning and Development

At this point in your child's life, she has the highest potential for learning new things. While attending an early childhood education program, your child will improve her language and motor skills, while developing the learning and cognitive skills necessary to move on to primary school, states the Rural Education Action Program at Stanford University.

Health Benefits

Attending a quality early childhood education program can benefit your child's health as well. Approximately 60 to 70 percent of preschool-age children attend an early childhood program or child care program out of the home, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Studies show that being provided with quality care in those programs can positively influence your child's learning and development. In addition, your child's socio-emotional development is less likely to be adversely affected, with a decreased chance of needing behavioral or mental health care once she enters primary school.

Screening Benefits

One of the many benefits of your child receiving an early childhood education is the opportunity to participate in early childhood screening. This screening is provided for 3- to 5-year-olds and tests things like health, cognitive development, speech, vision, hearing, coordination, emotional skills and social skills, Screenings can identify any development or health issues that need to be taken into consideration, to prevent learning delays.

Economic Benefits

Children aren't the only ones that benefit from early childhood education programs, states the National Institutes of Health. These programs can have economic benefits as well. A study conducted by the NIH tracked low-income families whose children received intensive early childhood education, while their parents received parenting skills training, social services and job skills training.

The results showed that these children went further with their education, had a higher income and better health insurance coverage than those who didn't receive early childhood education. These children were also less likely to abuse alcohol or be arrested and incarcerated for a felony.

Conclusion

Students’ achievement in school and in life is influenced by their early educational experiences.

New research findings on early brain development make it clear that quality care and early education should be vital components of every child's life. New knowledge about child development should be incorporated into early childhood curricula and parent education. Continued scientific research on brain development and early learning is needed.

Policymakers should be clear about what we expect children to be able to do when they enter school so that early education can be geared toward specific measurable goals. More coordination is needed of the full range of early childhood programs and Texas should work to ensure adequate teacher training and curriculum development.

Full funding should be provided for Head Start and similar programs as well as full-day pre-kindergarten in public schools, thereby giving all children a good shot at entering school ready to learn. Children in child care should also have the opportunity to receive quality age-appropriate care.

Quality early education can produce important long-term improvements in the intellectual and social development of disadvantaged children. However, many families, but particularly low-income families, do not have access to quality child care and early education programs. Texas should invest more in both the quantity and quality of early care and education and not squander the opportunity for potential gains for children

Education / Understanding The Level Of Significance During Data Analysis Of Project Works by nensamuel: 12:48pm On Nov 22, 2017

Most project work has the chapter four which consists of data analysis and interpretation.

For a researcher or project student to be able to interpret his/her project work effectively, he/.she must have a good knowledge of the level of significance and its application to a project work.

What is level of significance?

The level of significance denoted by α is simply the level at which we either reject or accept the null hypothesis based on our t-test or probability value commonly known as p-value.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: CHOOSING A GOOD PROJECT/RESEARCH TOPIC

During data analysis and interpretation, decisions cannot be made without the level of significance.

For professional data analysis, the level of significance is placed at either 0.05 or 0.01. Simply put the level of significance of any experiment is the level at which the null hypothesis is either accepted or rejected based on the p-value.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: PROJECT TOPICS IN EDUCATION

Most students during their research or project work tend to ignore this which unfortunately tends to haunt them at the end of the day.

For most project work the level of significance of 0.05 is generally preferable, this is because of its 95 percent;confident limit of generalizations reached at the end of the analysis leaving the remaining 5 percent for error during analysis.

5 percent margin for error is generally believed to be on point as it gives enough room for error during the analysis of the chapter four of your project work.

Most research or project supervisor looks out for the level of significance used for a project work. This is because the level of significance goes a long way in telling your project supervisor if you made the right decisions in the analysis and interpretation of your project work.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: HOW TO WRITE A STANDARD ABSTRACT FOR YOUR PROJECT

The level of significance normally comes up in the chapter fur of a standard chapter four of any project work. It appears below the hypothesis of a study just above the decision rule of the study. Conclusions are made my comparing the p-value with the level of significance which is normally at 0.05 or 0.01 as said earlier.

Below is a professional appearance of the level of significance and how it can be used for decision making in most project works.

Test of hypothesis

H0: there is no significant relation between A and B

H0: there is a significant relation between A and B

Level of significance: 0.05

Decision rule: reject H0 if the p-value is less than the level of significance (0.05) but accept H0 if the p-value is greater than the level of significance (0.05)

The p-value is usually a value between 0 and 1 inclusive which is usually a value gotten after the data (whether primary or secondary) must have been analysed used a statistical tool.

Education / Useful Tips For Project Defense For Final Year Students by nensamuel: 11:59am On Nov 21, 2017
For students in the tertiary institutions across the globe, project defense is an academic endeavor most students consider as a great feat that sends chills down their spine whenever they think about it..

But it doesn’t really have to be that way, project defense can also be considered as a normal oral test where students can have fun interacting with their lecturers yet still focused and making far more sense.

YOU CAN ALSO READ:STEPS TO CHOOSING A GOOD PROJECT/ RESEARCH TOPIC FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS

The thought of defending their project seem t be the beginning of woe and troubles for some students and this doesn't in any way help them during the defense day as they get to be all fidgety and panicky while entering the hall.

To avoid the stress of the panic moment during your project defense, it is pertinent to observe some crucial tips before and on the said defense day.

Be familiar and interested in your project work

So many potential defense students make the mistake of writing on a topic they have no particular interest in, either they are forced by their supervisors or colleagues to write on such <strong>project topic</strong> or they craft their topic based on pre-written topics on the net but not withstanding where the work is crafted from, familiarization with the work should be inevitable.

You have to study and get well acquainted with the research work

Know your audience

Well getting a heads up about who will be amongst the defense team is actually a credit to you as it will help prepare your mindset on what to expect and reactions to expect while you're addressing the panel.

Checkup possible questions

Inasmuch as you don’t expect the lecturers to follow a trend of questions it is still pertinent that you check up possible questions that may be asked during your defense and try to answer them I the best possible ways.

It will be a gross disappointment that a question will be asked and u are so unprepared to tackle it in your capacity.

Practice and practice more

Many students make the mistake of leaving the bulk of their work until the eleventh hour before rushing over it to meet up the standard preparation level.

Practice as it is usually said makes one perfect but I will say practice and practicing more will boost your confidence level and help you get more comfortable doing what you're meant to do.

Work with time

As you prepare for your project defense it is of sole importance that you work with time so you don't get caught unawares.

During your practice hours, keep a stopwatch or an alarm clock handy to keep yourself in check with the actual minutes you will be given during the project defense and be sure to use the limited time to answer most of the relevant questions as much as possible and be straight to the point with the answers you give.

Work on your nerves

You are definitely expected to be bold as much as you can be but being nervous before the big even is quite inevitable and should be expected.

At this point it is up to you to work on yourself and tune your mindset to face the challenge head on. Looking bold and confident during the defense is a credit to you so you need to keep the nerves in check

What are you planning to wear?

First impression I everything in life and it matters what impression you give out first before you start speaking your look says more to your audience. Make sure you wear clothes appropriate for the event, well washed and ironed it doesn't have to be expensive but it has to be presentable and appealing, good personal hygiene is inexcusable here.

Pray

Not to be biased about some people that are not overly religious but for the religious folks who believe in the wonders of prayer it is pertinent to commit your efforts through prayers to God before stepping into the hall to face the defense panel, for some prayer acts as a confidence booster to them so it is really advisable to say a word or two of prayer before your project or research defense.

Education / Re: Complete Undergraduate Project Topics and Materials For Final Year Students by nensamuel: 11:41am On Oct 25, 2017
Since iprojectmaster.com is always in the business of helping students, especially, final year students racking their brains for final year project topics that’ll be eligible to present to their project supervisors and ultimately to get them raving marks in their results; we have become concerned and wish to make an array of final year project topics that are catchy, relevant and has minimal cost of research.

This article is not a final authority in the relevance of these proposed final year project topics but a quasi guide, that should give final year students an idea of what their final year project topic should be and how to go about constructing them.

Having a balanced final year project topic can be a serious challenge, especially, taking into consideration the condition of the present economy; final year students seek for final year project topics with minimal research cost, are relevant to the current situations in the country and catchy, as opposed to lengthy and ‘discombobulated’…just like the parenthesized word.

Over time, we have come across final year project topics that are quite confusing and generally too busy with variables. For example, “The impact of Recession on the Manufacturing Industry and Communications as it Affects Banking Habits”: this topic was an instant headache, but still, we helped.

Without pointing out, one can immediately say that the above final year project topic is not catchy, or has minimal research cost, it might be relevant, but its relevance is lost in the over-crowdedness of variables to test. Variables being “Recession” “Manufacturing Industry” “Communications” and “Banking Habits”; one is left to wonder which of these variables should be tested, what tools to use, and the whole final year project writing experience becomes a burden and a punishment, instead of a learning experience.

Belatedly, but significant to this article, the above final year project topic could have been coined in several, simpler forms, like:-

1. “The Importance of Communications as it affects Customers’ Banking Habits”

2. “The Importance and Impact of Communications in curbing premature Retirement in the Manufacturing Industry”

3. “The Impact of Recession as it affects Customers’ Banking Habits”

4. “Banking Habits and its effect on the Manufacturing Industry”

5. “Recession and its impact on Productivity in the Manufacturing Industry”

And so many other simple and catchy final year project topics that could have been made from just that complicated one; not just simple and catchy but minimal in research cost and general project writing effort.

As promised in the beginning, we will array a sample of simple but effectively adroit final year project topics from some of the popular departments.

Education / Trending Final Year Project Topics At A Glance by nensamuel: 6:17pm On Oct 16, 2017

Education / In Nigeria, Where To Get A Good Source Of Pidgin News? by nensamuel: 12:20pm On Oct 16, 2017
Pidgin languages are generally simplified and flexible with a limited vocabulary. Nobody speaks a pidgin language as a first language, but over time that can change. If a pidgin language becomes widely used, its vocabulary may grow and additional grammar rules may develop. Children may begin to grow up speaking it from birth. At that point, it’s considered a creole.

In Nigeria, pidgin is (also known as naija pidgin) it has 50–70 million speakers and growing.

Brief history of pidgin, pidgin takes inspiration from Portuguese the first European language to reach Nigeria’s enduring colonial- era language, as well as Jamaican patois imported by former slaves returning to the continent. Nigeria now has become the most popular country that speak pidgin, which they also report news in pidgin, and have different websites and newspaper that reported news in pidgin; thrill you with proverbs that roll you on the floor with laughter.

However, only 5 million of these are native speakers most Nigerian speak one of 500 + regional languages, and schools tend to teach in English. There is some state where pidgin is commonly found, and these states speak it like one of their native dialect. These states are;

Warri: like they say, “Warri no dey carry last” when it comes to Pidgin English, Warri is the headquarters. The way they speak the pidgin is quite different from others stress swag and the slangs might be hard to comprehend.
Benin: the people in Benin can speak pidgin language as good as those in Warri. It is spoken by the old and young people.
Port Harcourt: it would be surprising for one to grow in Port Harcourt, the capital of River State to find it different on how to speak Pidgin English, even if you take your old mother or granny to river to stay for a while, he or she will be able to communicate without others with pidgin.
Yenagoa: this is another place in the Niger-Delta region where pidgin is very popular. Just like its neighbor, Port Harcourt, the people communicate more in pidgin than English language.
Lagos: the people of Lagos state speak pidgin as their second language, especially in Ajegule and Ojata. I must say that it is because of the popularity of different set of people that causes the Yoruba the make it as their number language for easy communication.
Abuja: pidgin in Abuja is very popular in such a way that even a child can speak due to the upbringing of that child.
Lokaja: It is also known as the best in pidgin in the north central region of Nigeria.
Calabar: The Calabar pidgin is a little different from other because it is been mixed up with English itself and it been adopted by other cities.

Here are some sites that report news in pidgin;

Education / Where To Find Pidgin News by nensamuel: 1:55pm On Oct 13, 2017
Before I continue, let me give u a brief history on pidgin and where it was found in African.

West African pidgin known as Guinea coast creole English was the lingua franca, or language of commerce, spoken along the West African coast during the period of Atlantic slave trade. At that point, it became a creole language.

Pidgin was found in Africa (West African Pidgins include Nigerian Pidgin, Cameroonian Pidgin, Sierra Leone Krio), Indonesia (Tok Pisin, spoken in Papua New Guinea), parts of Asia and the Caribbean. English derived Pidgins are inventive, innovative, and often quite literal. For example in Tok Pisin, 'gras bilong het' (or grass belong head) simply means 'hair'.

But here in Nigeria, pidgin is mostly found in the oil rich states where there is much population.

Pidgins are language that grows out of necessity when groups of people that don’t share a common language must interact with each other. Pidgins are a mixture of words from different language, and feature a simpler grammatical structure and smaller vocabulary. With extended use over time, a pidgin language develops and becomes a common mode of communication. Pidgin has been very popular that both local and international sites reported news in pidgin, one of the e.g. one local site that report news in pidgin is Newsinpidgin.ng and international sites that report news in pidgin is (bbc.com/pidgin). Most of the newspaper that reported news in pidgin, e.g. of one it is the daily newspaper.

Culture / African Traditional Communication Media And Rural Development by nensamuel: 4:13pm On Sep 26, 2017
Traditional communication can be defined as a communication which involves all the social conventions and practices, modes of and social organizations whose chief concerns may not be with communication but with other activities.

Traditional communication is perhaps the most important way by which ruralities communicate among themselves and in effect with others. In rural society, this is for a large majority, the only means of getting information about event outside.

Traditional media of communication is a complex system of communication which pervades all aspects of rural and urban life in Africa. It is complex in the sense that, it is not only one system but a network of other systems which operate at various levels of society. In reality, it is simple in its operation and it depends on trust for its credibility.

The traditional media of communication and its effectiveness in rural development depends on the mode of their communication. The people in rural settlement make use of instrumental {e.g idiophones, aerophone, stratify, iconographic, extra-mundane, visual and institutional as their effective tools of communication. Here, the instrumental mode of traditional communication consist of aerophones idiophones, membranephones symbolography.

Here we are made to believe that music is not just a medium of entertainment but a vehicle to spread ideas and doctrines. Iconographic is a mode of traditional media of communication consists of the use of objects and flora media. It is a signification which the object refers to a thing, event or concept. For example the presentation of a bowl of kolanut and charcoal means acceptance to some people, pigeon or fowl, egg, white egg, feather, cowries, mimosa, flowers ,scriptures etc. have specific meanings or ideas to members of other communities. Extra-mundane mode of traditional communication is a mode which is believed to take place between the living and supernatural or Supreme Being. On the surface it usually seems unidirectional participants at religious crusades, prayer sessions, rituals and other religious and pseudo- spiritual activities during this period, there is often a form of feedback which may come through interpersonal process, physical revelations or magical and other worldly verbalizations.

Obituary, and in memoriam notice and tomb stone messages are the graphic forms of this mode of communication. Among some of the other well-known forms are incantation chant, ritual, prayer, sacrifices, invocation, conjuration, witchcraft, exorcism vision and contemplation.

Education / The Effect Of Examination Misconduct On Students’ Academic Performance by nensamuel: 6:29pm On Sep 25, 2017
Examinations are known to play very important roles in our educational system, which are sued for academic stratification or for assigning grades to students in schools of learning. I will say that teachers and lecturers encourage examination malpractice among students by giving them areas of concentration, by so doing most student won’t border reading on those topic given to them to study before the examination day, rather they will make plans for malpractice. It has become a vicious circle and once students get involved and go through undetected, they easily become addicted and therefore tread this critical path as to attend their academic success in school.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: THE EFFECT OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE ON STUDENTS ATTITUDE TO LEARN

According to Ukpong (2003), examination malpractice is a social mace but some student today see it as an acceptable and recognizable means of passing examination at all levels of education, which is positive effective of it. And negative part of it is that a lot of student carry results that do not reflect their ability, with this, it threaten the educational system of today.

I will discuss on (5) major effect of examination malpractice on student attitude of learning.

Economic Growth: The economic growth of our nation has been affected because those that can move the economy forward have been put in the back row of the society. What I’m trying to say is that, the worsts effect of examination malpractice on student attitude to learn is over-emphasis on paper qualification, which pushes students to cut corners to excel in examination.

Unemployment: There will be rise in unemployment, this due to the fact that supposed graduates who are expected to showcase what they have learnt in school turns out empty ie. having nothing to offer at all, even while seeking to be employed

Lack Of Confidence:There will be increase in lack of confidence among students, what a student supposed to do on his/her own may seem challenging because that self-confidence is not there, rather they will support themselves with micro chips in the examination hall. Also, examination can lure some students into other areas of misconducts such as prostitution and armed robbery so as to earn money for lectures so as to pass their exams.

Lack of Professionalism: This will definitely affect the performance of any student’s believe in malpractice, for instance a student from a professional department like computer science, coming out of school still remains jobless without knowing what to do with his course of study. Thus the student will be afraid of showcasing his or her talent in the labor market. Sometimes this set of student will grow into adults and becomes teachers, lectures or examination supervisors who will not see anything wrong with such sophisticated and high class examination frauds, which will defeated the goals of educationa by training out certificated illiterates.

Impedes Intellectual Progress of the Nation: Those who cheat to pass in examination and unable to defend their certificates in public and the number of students who graduated in school now contributes to the downfall of our nation, because value of certificate will be reduced, the standard and quality of education will be under-rated anywhere in the country.

Conclusively, the effect of examination malpractice has the negative and positive part of it. Outlining strategies by spelling out the consequences that follows with the conduct could help in eradicating cheating in examination. So you better shun exam malpractice because it kills your career and your profession.
Education / Evaluation Of The Oil And Gas Sector And The Nigerian Economy by nensamuel: 4:10pm On Sep 25, 2017
Not many issues bother the Nigerian economy the way oil and gas do; and for reasons beyond control, the entire world grapple with these same issues owing to high or how price of oil products. The oil and gas sector provides large energy on which every economy runs, ranging from the developed industrialized west to the food processing plants in the developing countries such as ours. Oil and gas exerts a level of influence on every economy, irrespective of their level of development.

YOU CAN ALSO READ: THE IMPACT OF OIL SECTOR ON THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY

The oil and gas, no doubt, are not evenly distributed however. This is due to the disparities in the geographical locations within time and space. As a consequence, many countries depend on others for oil and gas supplies. Until recently, Nigeria and other African countries such as Algeria, Libya etc. have been the major oil producing countries in the world.

However, the unequal distribution of oil and gas in Nigeria, particularly, has given rise to politics surrounding the commodity both at the state level, national level and at the international market at large. Inasmuch as the oil and gas sector has been the major source of the national internal revenue, it has also caused a lot economic setbacks through the following ways.

Major Source of Revenue: The oil and gas sector has been the major export commodity of Nigeria for many decades. It has been the wheel on which the Nigerian economy runs. Aside revenue gotten from exporting oil and gas, the oil producing firms pay royalties to the government after oil explorations.

Economic Diversification Default: Often times, people wonder if the availability of oil and gas in the country is actually a blessing or a curse. This is because, since the discovery of oil, the Nigeria government has been hesitant over diversifying the economy. There is too much dependence on oil and gas. As a result, the price of the commodity in the market determines the economic condition. Long term decline in the price of the commodity weakens the economy to the barest minimum.

Job Opportunities: The impact of oil and gas sector on the Nigerian economy as spurred job creation ranging from the highly technical to the least technical. Especially in the Niger Delta region where many of them did not acquire adequate formal education, job opportunities even at lower levels have been provided including driving, cleaning, and other messengerial functions.

Economic Fluctuations: The oil and gas sector has pulled the market structure of demand and supply into great conflict. On the demand side, the oil consumer’s aim at policies that will favor them while the supply end aim at making the most of the profit. This has resulted to the fluctuation in the prices and avail ability of oil and gas within and outside the country. The rise in the price of oil and gas in the international market results to economic boom while the fall in the price of this commodity reduces the national income, the national budget, default in debt obligation and subsequently the fall in the standard of living of the country.

Environmental Degradation: The oil and gas sector of Nigeria has remained at the mercy of multinationals who mostly have their headquarters at their home countries. This is majorly because of the highly sophisticated technological requirements for oil explorations and processing. Meanwhile, the Niger Delta region, the bed rock of the Nigeria’s oil and gas suffer the aftermath of the oil exploration. The oil and gas exploration activities has resulted to condemned farmlands, water pollution and has dislocated many of the rural dwellers from their homelands. Many of them depend on seafood’s as a means of survival, but the activities of miners disable fishes from breathing in water, mostly oil spillage. It subsequently affects the standard of living of these people.

Some of these challenges vary with environmental degradation, economic fluctuation and others which space would have failed to mention.
