AbooFaaris:What Unit did you interview for? I might be able to help. |
DumsBen:Really? It must be awful getting a regret message after the benchmarking period. It used to be a formality going by the threads on here. Did you try to call the HR? They might have an update for you. 6 hours was really fast! Your partner must have been impressed with your performance. Did you get my personal message? Best! |
DumsBen:Okay Buddy, I sent you a request already. It is a very funny email so excuse the pun. No need to worry man, you are in already. Benchmarking is always 99.99% sure. How long did it take for you to get a success message? Hopefully we would be colleagues soon. |
DumsBen:IARCS is still ongoing and you can still join even when the academy is on session. When did you do your PI? Is there a possibility of you linking me up with the person scheduled for MC PI today so we can share updates? Thanks |
AyoDoll:Good Afternoon, It seems like the MC recruiting round is very slow. I heard that here has been only one PI round so far and no new graduate recruit yet. Although I can't confirm this, please is there any MC new hire here waiting to resume next week or do you know any one? I would really appreciate if anyone can provide any information regarding the MC interview rounds for this year so far. Have you heard from them since your PI @Ayodoll? We can share updates. Thanks. |

mambani: kemiThegoddess: sawyer89: MarvellousGod:Just to clear some misconceptions: From what I heard from the grapevine, Big 4 wasn't a prerequisite, most of the candidates came from foreign universities and had relevant internships. Less than 20 candidates were interviewed for the first round. They take 4 max yearly and it is extremely competitive so cheer up if you were not called. Your resume layout and cover letter probably matters more than what you got in the test. Always a long shot without relevant internship i am guessing. The process is over now; 3 interviews in 7 days!!!! Mambani if you don't mind can you share your profile? A guy that we interviewed together for an analyst position in a management consulting firm in Johannesburg got in and his background is Ivy League. Bachelor of Science from Cornell in New York. I hope I have been able to answer some of your questions. Cheers |
sawyer89:It is compter adaptative like the GMAT exam. Wish everyone the best! The main aim of these test is to test your ability when it comes to processing relevant and irrelevant information. Don't fall for the trap of thinking too much and trying to judge your performance. You might answer only 6 with a higher difficulty level and get a score better than someone that answered 10/12. The score for adaptative testing is normalized score not absolute score. I have heard stories of people getting 3-7 questions wrong and still getting a perfect score in GMAT (51). The example is just to give you an idea of how normalized scoring works. |
MarvellousGod:I dislike that keyword thing, it is unfair and smack of laziness. That is why I like the management consulting and top financial firms. They would actually read your cover letter and compare it to your resume. Most times the ATS rejects applicant with PDF formats. Nigeria firms are very lazy recruiting wise, during my final year in college I had friends that got interviews with management consulting firms in other countries. They would reply all the applicants within three weeks (positive or negative). From your description about citi, they are acting very professionally. I know you would be fine so start preparing for the round of interviews. I am sure you did well above average. Goodluck |
MarvellousGod:It would be difficult since you answered all your questions. Another problem is that the technical team in charge of the test might not be Citi's technical team. If the deadline has passed, it would be difficult to schedule another one for you. Did you take screenshots? That worked for me when I did my BNP Paribas tests. It would surely strengthen your appeal. It is always nice to take screenshots once you notice some challenges, I concede it might be difficult due to the time pressure. Yes I'm financially inclined. BOA was a long shot, I got to the final stage but my lack of bulge bracket experience affected me. It was an off cycle analyst position which makes the chances slimmer unlike a full time analyst or summer position. I thought all banks invite applicants that have decent resume/cover letter invites, so they do pre-screening? It isn't difficult to put up a decent one page resume and stellar cover letter now or is it? They always review your test scores and application together not one before the other, at least that is what most banks do. |
MarvellousGod:I am guessing you took the test, how was it? Last numerical test I did (Bank of America) went very well although I am aware that Citi's own is on a different level. My friends said once you start getting too easy questions or questions far away from your first 3 on a difficulty level, know that you are not doing very well. I wish you the best if you took part in this round. Citi is a wonderful place to work. 20 answers tell me you can't approximate like SHL. |
MarvellousGod:Citibank Tests are always computer adaptative; next question would be harder than the previous one. You can answer 7/10 and have a better score than someone that answered 9/10. It is way harder than SHL with a lot more tables. As far as i know, Citi's numeracy test is the hardest among investment banks. Some of my friends did their internship with Citi London. |
Hello Blessing, I sent you a follow request, please can you follow me back so I can send you a personal message? Thank you Cheers blesseenE: |
ednut1:Hello Brotherly, I tried sending you a message but got a prompt from the Admin that we have to be connected, does that mean following you? Sorry if I sound naive, I am new to Nairaland and so finding it difficult to navigate through. Let me know if you received any personal message from me. Cheers |
samplanner:What date did you submit your application? |
lantessy:I thought as much too, sending another application might be dangerous because it is past the deadline date. I would just wait and hope for an invite. My problem with email applications is the fear of your message ending up in the spam folder. Thank you once again for the response. Cheers |
ednut1:Thank you for the nice words. You are an inspiration Ednut. So there is still hope for those of us that are yet to get invite for the test? I have checked the email address a couple of times to make sure I did not make any mistake. Cheers |
lantessy:Please when did you apply? I sent my application on the 20th of May and yet to get a response or invitation. I want to know if maybe you submitted yours earlier than me. If I don't get a reply, do you think it is advisable for me to send my application again? I would appreciate a response from you. Thank you Lantessy |

.. I also had a network challenge even though i tested the network strength before I started, I wish all questions loaded at once just like shl instead of having to wait for each question to load..When some of my questions loaded, I had little time left...
