enkay4love: I find the topic's comic word usage & picture illustrations hillariously funny 2 extremes,@ OP,nice write-up. Yes Nigerians have certain essentric characteristics,so applied 2 every other country of the world. What I find the oddest,is our over-zealous religious nature, where we bring God into evrythng yet we know no Jack about repentance.(2)long leg/god-fatherism syndrome:d bane of our ill-functional national leadership(3)stereotyped increasing corruption rate,& careless accountability 2 the governed/electorate.May God help us.Thanks enkay for noticing that the trend was meant to be entertaining & hilarious just to make y'all laugh. Funny some folks take things too serious. Just saying! davidif: Awful post. It's annoying when a Nigerian tries to writes a post about what he thinks foreigners think about his country. What ethnocentrism! |

ejakpovi2: yobe state is bigger than the entire south east.ENTIRE SOUTH EAST SIZE is 29,095 km2. While Adamawa 36,917, Bauchi 45, 844, Benue 34,059, Borno 70,898, Kaduna 46,053, kebbi 36,800, kogi 29,833, kwara 36,825, niger 76,363, plateau 30,913, taraba 54,473, yobe 45,502, zamfara 39,762.All this big but dry lands they claim to have. I would rather live in a small Singapore than spend a day in a dry Sudan. |
One of the Special Advisers to President Goodluck Jonath, Reno Omokri has tweeted that the Sambisa Forest where the abducted school students where kept was bigger than Lagos State. It will be recalled that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau on Monday, released a video showing some of the girls kidnapped at a government secondary school in Chibok, Borno State on April 14. He noted that the soldiers needed to be commended and not humiliated. "Sambisa Forest is larger than the entire state of Lagos. Visualize that and you will better understand what our military is dealing with," he tweeted. How true is this ![]() |

Goddex: Hahahahahaha . . . . bros I feel you. The OP spoilt the show when he started mentioningYou are either ignorant or blinded by sentiments to deneil that no one in your tribe exibits those points your layed out. 1. Most Nigerians I know home and abroad in respective of thier tribes, have bigmouths and talk at the top their voice. 2. I am a proud Igbo son from Abia to be precise & the last time I checked, we Igbos cook soups like Uwgu, Ukazi and Oha etc. with Palm Oil(red oil) so whats your point ![]() 3. Prostrating to greet elders may not be a significant part of an Igbo culture but it goes beyond the yourubas. Other tribes like hausa, Nupe, Igala etc. have their various ways of greetings. You guys just look for ways to tribalize issues. Please give it a break for ones and go take a good nap |
Yikes this virus looks as bad as it sounds. We have got to do everything humanly possible to prevent it from spreading across the country |
adconline: Delusion of grandeur! We have the highest child illiteracy in the world. Folks under Taliban rule in Pakistan send more kids to school than Naijawhatever facts you think you have, I don't think it surpasses the reality that make same Nigerians the most educated people in the US. Also do know how many thousands of Nigerians are currently studying abroad?? Forget about that you read online or from the Media, Nigerians take education far serious than most western worlds |
Sai GEJ! Sai GEJ!! Sai GEJ!!! Anyway check this out https://www.nairaland.com/1830961/10-things-foreigners-find-weird |
10. Being a Nigerian is odd Foreigners believe that everything about Nigerians is odd. Hehe! We are odd and we like it that way! Makes me wonder why we have lots of expats in Nigeria. Some who have visited Nigeria want to visit again and again, hoping that one day, maybe they might become like us. Ko joor! Do you find anything odd about Nigerians?
|
9. Nigerians take education too seriously People abroad do not believe in studying till you die! That is why they find it odd when they see a Nigerian who has a PhD and is looking forward to study for Litt.D, DSc or LL.d. We take education too seriously because we believe that it is the key to having a fulfilled life. Though, things are changing – and Nigerians now believe that you can still work hard and be successful rather than studying for ages to become a successful person. However, education in Nigeria is important.
|
8. Nigerians are not polite and orderly People abroad think Nigerians are not orderly because they jump queues or do not line up in an orderly fashion. Why waste time on the queue when it is every man for himself. Sometimes, the last shall be the first and the first shall be the last. Hehe!
|
7. Exchanging foods on special occasions Exchanging foods with neighbours and friends on special occasion like Christmas or Ramadan serve as a token of our friendship, love and goodwill. I love this and I always look forward to it every year
|
6. When a woman cooks for her husband everyday Nigerian wives cook for their husbands not because it is compulsory or they are forced to do it. They cook for their husbands to show how much they love them and also because it is part of our culture and traditions
|
5. Interaction with elderly people is just too formal Nigerians show the much older people respect by being formal with them. For instance: calling your friend’s parents as Mr and Mrs Lagbaja. Nigerians are raised with the mentality to be formal and respectful to the elders. With the blend of the western culture and our culture, this is not the case. Nowadays, the young generation show respect to elderly people based on their experience and affluence. They believe age is not equal to respect.
