Crime“ejigbadero, Chairman Agbado Oke-odo LCDA Sells Land Under Power Line Back To Cl by Newal(op): 12:54pm On Feb 23

Outrage as Demolition of Artisan Clusters Sparks Allegations of Land Grabbing and Reallocation in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA.
Serious allegations have emerged against the Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Ejigbadero (popularly known as Eji/Esho), following the demolition of long-standing artisan approved settlements along the AIT/Rapower Road/Command axis in Lagos.

Ejigbadero, who assumed office in July 2025 and is widely known for his background in land and property transactions, is facing criticism after bulldozers cleared structures stretching across more than five kilometers of the corridor. The affected occupants; mechanics, panel beaters, and other artisans had operated in the area for over three decades, with some claiming a presence of more than 35 years with the written approval of the Lagos State government.

The demolition was reportedly justified by Ejigbadero on the grounds that structures were erected beneath the high-tension power lines and therefore violated safety regulations. These structures, according to the Artisans were not made by them as they have no need for such to carry out their work but by other individuals using the constructed buildings for bars, short rest apartments, lounges, car lots etc. The controversy has deepened amid reports that, weeks after the clearance, portions of the same land are being offered for commercial purposes by Ejigbadero to the same persons/businesses who had hitherto abused the use of the land, the same reason Ejigbadero used in demolishing and dislodging the mechanics who were there with government approval.

Faced by what they described as an abuse of powers by Ejigbadero, the Artisans under the umbrella of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) approached the Lagos State High Court and have filed an action seeking redress in suit nos. ID/18698LMW/2026 against Ejigbadero himself and a host of other defendants. Despite the service of the court process on him, the Artisans complain that Ejigbadero continues to harass them and sell their lands to high net worth individuals with intent to use the Artisan land for other businesses, contrary to known safety code under high tensions.

Critics argue that the swift transition from demolition to reallocation raises questions about consistency in policy enforcement and the true motive behind the exercise.

Community stakeholders have described the situation as devastating, noting that the demolition effectively dismantled the livelihoods of artisans who had plied their trades over decades. Many have been left without alternative sites or compensation, intensifying concerns about displacement and economic hardship.

Observers are now calling for transparency regarding the legal basis for both the demolition and subsequent land allocations, especially since it is now been alleged that Ejigbadero is selling the land at a huge costs to the same defaulters using a private firm, Petra Global Concept. They are urging relevant authorities to clarify whether due process was followed and whether Ejigbadero will be allowed to flaunt and disregard court process. I'm really surprised a QS could provide such an estimate, because some things in the estimate are underquoted....
like cement if u intend doing pillars, granite, iron rods... the only material that is inflated is the peg in terms of quantity o....because prices of the rest materials do varies with location...u can confirm that yourself & mind u no provision was made for contigencies....

The blocks ought to be minimum of 1200 because of breakages....
As regards the floor plan, pls find another place for the visitors toilet, do not inlude it in the main lounge. Ideally the master bedroom ought not to be in that position, it would have been more ideal if the master bedroom was relocated to the back, so dat d current position for master can be use for guest room....so both d visitors & guest can use the WC. please contact your architect for modification before setting out....the visitors toilet should not be inside the main lounge...& to make it worst, there is no lobby before the toilet...opening direct to the main lounge...smell go chase people....

What does the 150pcs approval represent? profile?
Thank you

Many thanks for all the responses so far. I truly appreciate. The quote was given by a QS and I have Contacted Engineer that will supervise the project but I believe in openess and fair deal. If not for people on this forum I wouldnt have known that some of the prices were inflated. Some of this so called professionals included their charges yet inflated costs. I think the best solution will be to get the materials myself and pay for their service

The quote is fair. Lemme point out some red flags to you.
You can do two third quantity of pegs and approval
Cos of sharp sand is exorbitant. On lagos island, cost of 20 tonnes is around 45k. So there is no way you would buy 25 tonnes for that amount.

Please do a little research on the cost of cement in your area. Last time I bought cement was for 2500. Not in lagos though but the difference shouldn't be this much.

Cost of granite per ton is too much in my opinion.
Ifo is in ogun state and with some proximity to abeokuta, you should get granite cheaper than this.

Am wondering what extent of reinforcements you want to do on your site. It looks under quoted for.
Perhaps you have reinforcement rods already. If not, you would spend more than 10k on reinforcements.

I hope this helps.
Sorry for the late response.
I have been on transit.
Many thanks. God bless you!

Ok.
If it wasn't for the size of the project which is quite small, I would have asked that you get a QS to do a bill for you.
But in this case, your architect should be able to do you a rough estimate.

Oh! My bad.
You seek to know the cost of your foundation. Understand that project costs vary based on factors such as location, soil condition, and so on.
Many thanks doctorgold
Location is Ifo, Ogun state, dry land, flat surface
