This is for those abroad. which words/slangs/phrases did you have to learn when you travelled and what do they mean in their contexts? Basically from English-speaking countries though its not restricted to those alone.

Been following the thread and i think some people have been really helpful with regards to answering questions. The only thing i'm going to come up with for people worrying and asking too much questions is that they should relax and do the right thing. I know several people will not tell you how they did theirs and others will tell you how they lied to the consular about so many things in order to get the visa. Now if you're so desparate just to enter the US then feel free to take to those advice and if you are simply honest about going to study, my advice is be honest about what you say and leave the rest to God. Preparation is key and i believe once you prepare well and state your case as it is,without falsifying anything,you will be favoured. Before this thread was created people have been getting US visas and some ppl dont even know abt this thread and they were successful.
Its all about God's favour no matter what any one says.

Its just sad how things happen in marriages these days. Remember we also have men who plan for their future without the knowledge of the wife. These men finish building houses and their wives are not aware. Like Mrs chima said, a lady has to open her eyes well and do the right thing in marriage so there would be shared trust.

Inferno or not, recession or not, as long as you have the means to take care of yourself its no excuse. My point was based on people who really had the means and opportunities but lost them due to lack of preparation.

The men who wants to control the women would tell the women not to work. Its make perfectly sense. If a woman stay home then he has control over finances and other things. I made sure I was able to support myself before I got married.

Marriage does not offer protection and MARRIAGE doesn't change anything. You are doing the same things that you was doing before marriage and the only thing different it is legal.

You are right. marriage is a union and there's nothing stopping a lady from advancing financially. There will only be issues if she keeps it from her husband. What we pray for are men who are understanding and who want the best for their wives.

Just a word of advice for ladies out there, pls be smart and plan for the future. I've seen it time and time again how ladies get separated or divorced without having anything concrete to show for the years spent in their matrimonial home, finacially that is. Gone are the days when we rely on men to give us all we need and all we end up spending money on ephemeral things(shoes,bags,clothes,phones etc). I see nothing wrong with being an housewife but you don't have to be totally dependent on your hubby,find something to do or invest in.

Recently i have a relative who just relocated to Nigeria from the UK after a failed marriage and at 51 she's looking for a job here and lives with her family members. not to ridicule or anything but this is what we all learn from, have fun while you can but also plan for your future. I don't want to say much.

Well i've seen one or two ladies who miscarried a number of times but with the right medical care they were able to carry babies to full term and deliver successfully. All she needs now is her hubby's cooperation and it seems he's not willing to give it to her. I think i'm kinda going off point though,the question was what Queen is to do if i'm right and if she's smart she'd better leave the hubby alone. This is not the time to destroy anyone's marriage no matter how rocky it may be already.

Please i'd like to know if anyone knows about the company here in Nigeria and if they have a proven track record.
This is because i have a relative who recently registered with them as she wants to travel to South Africa this year and the company promised her some benefits including free accommodation for her and her spouse.
