The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, was finally released from Kuje Prison after fulfilling the bail conditions imposed on him by a Federal High Court in Abuja on January 19. Metuh was released from prison after 13 days of remand in custody with respect to the charges of fraudulent receipt of N400m from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 and money laundering involving separate $2m cash transaction. The charges were preferred against him and his company, Destra Investments Limited. He was released from prison on Thursday evening after the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, signed his release warrant, upon being satisfied with the verification of the details of the two sureties provided by the accused and the title documents of the property owned by the sureties. The verification exercise was done by the Chief Registrar of the court and it also involved the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, whom the judge directed must verify the residential addresses of the two sureties. A court official confirmed to our correspondent that Metuh met the bail conditions and presented the necessary documents before the official close of work in court on Thursday. Metuh’s journey to freedom was made easier by a ruling of the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, varying the bail conditions on Wednesday. 1, Take a closer look at those girls behind President Obama, those girls are the daughters of the strongest man on earth. Very simple and descent dresses, no heavy make ups, no gold chains or jewelries , normal hand bags and flat sandals but yet they are the daughters of Obama. 2, That man on bicycle isn't a cyclist or a courier man, his name is Boris Johnson. He is the mayor of London. He rides his bicycle to work daily. Do u knw what it is to be the mayor of London? 3, The other mixed picture is the picture of a Nigerian pastor enjoying the comfort of a private jet with another man standing in an economy class plane. Do u know the power that is willed or controlled by that man? That man is Pope Francis ,Just meeting that man might change your life forever. Do you know how many people around the world that will be willing to give him one if he ever opens his mouth to ask for a private jet? 4, Take a closer look at the man buying fuel , he isn't a taxi driver, nor a pump attendant. That man is Putin of Russia, one of the strongest men alive now buying his fuel by himself. Men that the whole world shakes when they sneezes ,living a very simple and humble life. Now compare this with what we see or practice here in Nigeria, where an ordinary councillor will wish to move with an entourage of cars, sirens and heavy armed securities. Where the wife of our President will cause a heavy traffic jam simply because she needs to make her hair. Where the wife of our president will wear a Cartier watch of almost 10million naira yet her husband will be claiming he is a poor man. Where the daughter of our president will walk into a shop and order everyone out simply because she needs to shop. Where the son of a governor will order everyone in a beer parlour out because he wants to drink a bottle of beer . Where our pastors are all carried away by the material blessings attached to ministration that they no longer preach salvation but prosperity. cc: Lalasticlala More Photos @ http://www.zubbyblog.com/the-change-nigerianigerians-need-is-not-just-removing-gej-installing-pmb/

Mr Mohammed made the remark during a meeting with Abuja Bureau Chiefs. He said, ''No amount of media or other attacks will stop the fight. The pseudo-analysts and hack writers will labour in vain in their quest to stop the train of this anti-corruption fight''. ''When I met with the News and Political Editors in Lagos on Sunday, I said, among other things, that the government is aware that in fighting corruption, corruption will also fight back. I also said that those who stole us dry are powerful. They have newspapers, radio and television stations as well as online platforms, and an army of supporters to continuously deride the government’s war against corruption. The Niger Deltan Patriotic Alliance, NPDA, has urged the Federal Government to refrain from what it called "the harassment" of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, a.k.a Tompolo, asserting that"the All Progressives Congress, APC, led administration must realize that it cannot fight everybody at the same time.".. Addressing newsmen, on Thursday, in Uyo, the group through its spokesman, Offiong Udo, asserted that "just as we witnessed between 1983 and 1984, our nation is fast disintegrating into a lawless era of arbitrariness and cluelessness powered by an abysmally weak grasp of what it takes to govern a nation in the modern era." A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu be remanded in Kuje prison pending his trial for treason. Justice John Tsoho gave the order after listening to Mohammed Diri, counsel to the Department of State Services (DSS), and Chuks Muoma (SAN), counsel to Kanu. Muoma had argued that the accused person be remanded in prison custody away from the cell of the DSS. He said that his client had been kept incommunicado in the custody of the DSS for three months. He therefore asked the court to send the accused person to prison so that his family could have access to him. Diri, however, prayed the court to keep Kanu in the custody of the DSS for security reasons. But the judge ruled that the defendant be kept in the custody of the Nigeria Prison Service, Kuje. Kanu arrived at the court a few minutes past 9am looking unkempt. http://www.zubbyblog.com/take-nnamdi-kanu-to-kuje-prison-court-orders/ |

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has condemned the pro-Biafra protests in Aba, Abia state... The protests were against the arrest of the director of Biafra Radio, Nnamdi Kanu. Okorocha said the protesters are jobless and any other activity of the separatist group did not have the backing of any Igbo leader or the Southeast governors. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo said: “The ugly development is highly regrettable, especially when it is clear that such violent protests in the name of Biafra wouldn’t add any value to the development of the Southeast and the progress of its people. In spite of the media jamboree that often herald the invitation and arraignment of suspected politically-exposed looters in court, more often than not in the history of probing corruption cases in Nigeria, at the end of the day, none of the suspects gets convicted and sentenced to a prison term. With President Buhari’s commitment to fighting corruption to a stand still, INFORMATION NIGERIA has in this piece done a review of 5 high profile corruption cases that did not end up in the conviction of the persons involved… here are the 5 case studies… 1. The trial of former Managing Director of the defunct Bank PHB, Francis Atuche, has not even started seven years after it was filed in court. Atuche’s case, which started in 2009, was last November adjourned till February 16, 2016 just for “mention” by Justice Saliu Saidu. 2. A former Managing Director of the defunct Oceanic Bank, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, who was convicted in 2010 for banking fraud, was sentenced to only six months imprisonment, a term she served in a highbrow hospital on Victoria Island, Lagos. 3. The trial of Chimaroke Nnamani, former governor of Enugu State, which started in 2007 has yet to see the light of the day, nine years after. However, there is a likelihood that Nnamani’s case may start afresh now that the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Yunusa, has been transferred from Lagos to the Enugu Division of the Federal High Court. 4. Saraki’s trial for alleged false assets declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau has been stalled on account of Supreme Court’s order of stay of proceedings. 5. In Benin last year, Justice Abubakar Liman convicted a younger brother of a former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, Michael, of laundering N25bn belonging to the state. For the offence, Michael was sentenced to only two years imprisonment with an option of N3m fine and he of course chose the option of the fine.
