Religion / Re: No Prophet Married Only One Wife In The Bible - Olatosho Oshoffa by Newyorkitis(m): 3:37am On Apr 29
thesicilian:

It's the same story bro. The Bible does not condemn polygamy. Polygamy is the teaching of man. If it was that important, Jesus would have taught about it.
A lot of the disciples taught what they thought was right, not what Jesus taught them. At a point (Acts 10) God had to personally come down from heaven and correct Peter about the issue of unclean meat and refusing to preach to the gentiles.

What makes polygamy a sin? That a man pays the bride price of 2 or 3 women according to tradition, before taking her home with the consent of her parents, why should there be any law against that?
Is that not what we were practising before the white man came? Are you saying all our ancestors who practised polygamy will go to hell? But that David, Abraham, Jacob etc will all be in heaven?
What kind of logic is that?

If you're going to convince me that polygamy is a sin, you'll have to show me where it was expressly condemned.

Please read the Gospel of Matthew 19. Jesus taught his disciples about polygamy and divorce.

Second: our Ancestors are not going to hell even if in they were idol worshippers. If they did not kill, snatched peoples wives, were forgiven and did not bear witness, etc, they are in heaven because they would be judged by the laws of their time.
The concern should be about those of us that heard and did otherwise.
Our ancestors had their rules which had to do with being a good community member and a good neighbour.

Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.
Business / Please I Need Clarification About FCMB Virtual Debit Card. by Newyorkitis(m): 8:19pm On Apr 25
Good evening dear Nairalanders.
Please I'm seeking clarification about the FCMB virtual debit card that can be applied for online from anywhere.

I was able to Google about it but the information states that I can use it for online transactions (the word transactions is too fuzzy in my opinion)
What and what can it accomplish?
Can I transfer funds from my dollar domiciliary account to my pounds or naira account using the FCMB virtual card? (That's why I actually want to apply)
Or is it only for paying for goods and services?
Thanks for your anticipated insight.

It's a welcome development.
Imagine being fired From company A and you can't work in company B because they are rivals or similar.
However, there should be clauses attached to it. For instance, company A trains you with their cash, you shouldn't leave that company for a specified period of time for company B.

Congratulations to o Nigerians.

Before we hail the present administration who came in the middle of last year, why not check if he has released any funds for the project with his budget which was signed last year December.

Less we don't care to remember, that'll soon become a hotbed for kidnapping.

You do not know anything. Some people are wordse than lucifer. Pray , i mean pray never to cross path in your whole life with such people. You think prison scares everyone? i know someone who went to prison in the North served 10 years came out went to Lekki raped and killed the woman who sent him there and was smiling when rearrested.

See just pray to never cross some paths

Brotherly, this thing you pointed out is so true!
One has to be careful in offending people these days because there has been some very deadly revenge spree going on all over the globe.
Some people don't care about the consequences of their actions.
They just feel fulfilled that the satisfied their minds by causing fatalities.

otherwise, you will inherit another person's problems!

I hope her past is okay too if she has abandoned the baby she gave birth to inside the dust bin.

I don't think this message is for the present day Christians... Coming from what has been happening, Christians are tolerant compared to other religions in Nigeria.
This prayer shouldn't be for the Christians in my opinion.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Third Class Graduates: How Do You Feel When Denied A Job Due To Class Of Degree by Newyorkitis(m): 3:59pm On Mar 24
Villa12:
Sorry which criteria are they looking for? Is it class of degree or what? Is it the degree from nigérian universities or UK?

I am here for my MSC Programme.
So they check experience.
Which means you have to lie that you have cleaned in your country or the experience will be tied to the believe that you have worked as a cleaner in the UK which is another thing entirely.
I know deep down other factors could cause it.
But we keep pushing.

There’s a new Apple Store situated around ikeja, they strictly deals on Apple products only and they needed an accountant, the salary is quite good… so a good friend of mine sent me a link that I should apply for the job since I have Bsc in accounting, then I applied.

Yesterday I received an Email from the Apple Store stating that I wasn’t up to the criteria due to my class of degree. I felt disappointed but life goes on.

I just screenshot the mail and send it to my friend and he said he wasn’t aware that there was a specific class of degree ( minimum of 2:2) to apply for the job.
He cheers me up and told me better days ahead.

Though I’ve a job currently but the Apple Store is willing to pay x 2 of my current salary.
I won’t lie I felt so devastated.

Brother I can imagine how you feel because it's the same thing everywhere.
Over here in the UK, imagine most of us applying for cleaning jobs and the recruitment department will reply with "Unfortunately we cannot proceed with your application because you fell short of the criteria we are looking for"

Cleaning Job ooo.

Normally if not for the thievessss that we have in the political scene, there's no need to waste manpower and resources to initiate and pass this Bill.

Under the law, you are only entitled to pension after 10 years of service for civil servants which they all fall under.

If you like do 8 years, that's less than 10 years, so no pension.

Business / Re: Can 1.5 Million start up a phone accessories business by Newyorkitis(m): 6:00pm On Mar 16
raphemmanuel:
My good people of nairaland good morning to you all. Hope you have a wonderful night rest.

After so much pondering and fear of starting a business due to fear of the business collapsing because of our current economy crisis since early last year, I have decide to venture into phone accessories business.

The reason why I always resort to nairaland each time I want to take some certain decisions is because there are people with like-mind and are willing to give out tangible advise.

I have a budget of 1.5 million naira to start the business (shop rent and shop beautification included on the amount)
Please my good people, is it still advisable to venture into this business without regret, is the business viable?
What particular phone accessories device has much demand.

My location is Aba, Abia state. Any location or place I can buy this accessories in bulk at cheaper price.

It should be enough. Part of what you need to do is to check what the people around you prefer. For instance, some people would prefer flashy products which most times does not last long compared to products that are not flashy. (This applies to chargers most especially) for example there's this Amazon charger called 360 because it rotates round and people like it due to this feature. This particular charger is very fast but not rugged. Which means power surge can just take it out and the person will say you sold a fake charger to him/her
So you should put more effort to know the difference.

Just try to engage your customers more and they'll be happy to come back and even if there's any issue at the long run, it'll be on record that you told them. I'm writing this because some customers will come without having any knowledge of what they need and they see you as the expert.

Another method to know this things is that you MUST use it!
Imagine if I come to buy a blue tooth and I ask you how many meters can it connect and you say you don't have an idea.

In addition, don't buy fake memory cards.
Buy stuff like Chupez memory cards because it is compatible with many phones.

New age is arguably the best when it comes to desktop chargers. They are the 2nd or 3rd for chargers and cords (my experience)

Try and do your market survey as well. This will help you to know how much the items in your shop are sold for in that neighborhood.
You can reduce the price with #50-#100 naira depending on the price.

Oraimo, no.

Believe you me, you might have had a bad experience with the oraimo product you purchased, but word on the street is Oraimo is King!

The shop owner should watch out for fake Oraimo products and he/she will be fine.
