Nigeria mostly (see maps). African Americans are children of Nigerians and other Africans combined. "Akatas" are Nigerians by blood. Plus slavery happened in west africa too there were also plantations so the young man who mocked AAs about slavery clearly does not know about the history of the enslaved africans who remained on the continent and that is unfortunate.

THE ISSUE
The racist tweets posted by Justin Mcclure has set off a firestorm on social media, particularly American social media. Although Justin made the tweets it is his Nigerian wife, Aminata, who is receiving the most backlash. Aminata who has defended her husband also came under fire when she claimed that she does not identify with African Americans as she is Nigerian and has a "culture". This further fanned the flames putting some of her most loyal African American supporters off.

"NIGERIAN SWIRLING BEDWENCH"
In the African American community a black woman who is romantically involved with a white man is known as a "bedwench" (traitor for sex). There is historical context to this as many African women during the slave trade if not forcefully raped did have intercourse with slave owners/overseers for many reasons including certain privileges to attempting to eventually obtain their freedom. In 2018 the term is widely used to refer to any black woman who dates a white man as a form of public scorn or shame. Recently since the Mcclure fiasco happened and it's been confirmed that Mrs. Mcclure is indeed Nigerian, the "bedwench" label has not only been thrown at her but Nigerian women as a whole.

On a popular social media site, youtube, several anti Nigerian "swirler" videos can be found dubbing Aminata as being not only a traitor but specifically a "Nigerian bedwench". As a result Nigerian women as a whole are under attack on the site. I will post some links to videos. I would like to know what your thoughts are as Nigerian men and women on this subject. Is interracial dating wrong? Is the outrage warranted?
