If the Sultan of Sokoto is not a sponsor and/or direct beneficiary of terror—if he stands against the slaughter and displacement of Christians and other innocent Nigerians—he can prove it easily:

-Issue fatwas against it.

-Repudiate radical Imams.

-Expose those in his domain who inflict and/or sponsor the ongoing violence.

-Declare killing of “infadels” to be haram.

-Work with authorities to identify, locate and bring the terrorists to book.

-Mobilize against the vast looting of minerals from his domain.

-Produce verifiable records of his work as a brigadier general in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

-Show even a hint of moral outrage for the atrocities and sympathy for the victims.

-Use his paramount influence and vast resources to help protect the innocent and restore the displaced.

These are easy, and a no-brainer for any blameless person in his position. Just a half-hearted effort at ANY ONE of them would go a long way.

In my humble opinion, his continued refusal to do so points to his guilt.
