Lets be guided, gone are days when employers look at the well structured grammatical content of your CV before hiring you. There is a landslide going on in the labor market and the human resource persons are not taking it for granted at all.

As a Nigerian student studying in Nigeria, you are confronted with the mind-bugging thought of 'what next after graduation'. I also believe to some extent, the same could be said about the Nigerian student studying abroad. No doubt, for some exceptional cases, the individual has a guaranteed job offer already waiting for him. For the rest of us, it never ceases to increase our pulse rate or blood pressure momentarily, each time we remember we have to start life after graduation, the cradle which is employment.

Needless to mention, the unemployment rate in Nigeria is high. Without being drawn into any form of political altercation on the aforementioned, I will say the government is trying. In someone else's opinion, the government has not done enough. There is varied individual and group opinions on this but that's not the crux of the matter, not the reason we are here.


I must admit, entrepreneurship is key. Simply put, business. If every Nigerian graduate can learn some kind of trade or business, whatever you choose to call it, we will reduce unemployment rate and also lessen the burden on the government. The good thing is this, even as an entrepreneur, you could enroll for a white collar job whenever the opportunity calls. Hence, we must be well guided as to the current trend in the labor market.

Companies are now in search of raw talents and proven skills. This goes beyond the wordings of your CV. Today, employers are demanding for evidence of researches conducted in your area of study. Does that ring a bell? I heard someone ask "how?". For an interview, a colleague was requested to present with his undergraduate project work. The unfortunate thing being that he couldn't even remember where he kept his own copy. Worst thing, he didn't keep a soft copy and his school couldn't provide him with a copy from their database. They no longer had it.

You can imagine the frustration of being disqualified for a potential job. It happened!! This brings us to the question: why your PROJECT PAPER?

A research paper conducted as an undergraduate speaks volume of your thought process and problem solving skill. Every research proffers answers to questions, in other words, provides possible solution(s) to a problems. Majority of Nigerian students copy already written works, never conducted the supposed research though they could have defended it. But beyond that stage, there is a lot more.

[i][/i]I do believe strongly that humanity has reached a crossroad and I hate to exaggerate that. I don't want to sound sensational but it's true.

I think that our species,the species of human beings is coming to a place where we are deciding about ourselves. We are making a huge decision about 'who are we?'. Who do we really choose to be?

Imagine that the issue is a political issue,then we will say,ah! there must be a financial problem. The problem is not political,it's not financial and not in any way Military obviously.

Circumstances don't determine who u are,they reveal WHO you are. In the world we live in,circumstances are changing so rapidly that will be revealed. There is no such thing as a problem. A problem is essentially a transition.

So I see the "crisises" of today as a transition for humanity. Look down on the human drama and discern through your critical faculties what's going on without judging it. Just discern,what is this human drama all about right now and what role can I best play in it?

Latest reports on Global risk published by World Economic Forum on Global crisis presents an astonishing risk intra -connection map. It clearly reveals how all global risks are inter-related and inter-woven such that

Economic,Environmental,Geopolitical ,social and technological risks are hugely interdependent. A crisis in one area will lead to crisis in another. The interconnection and complexity in this map compared to our surprise the impact and speed the risk in financial crisis illustrate that scores exist between all systems we built and shows how just disconnected it can turn out. Our terms of managing these systems are fragmented and simplistic and not up to the challenges that we face today.

The way we use natural resources is based on our economic system which is closely related to our social values. Which directly affect our psychological and emotional systems and all our actions. What we see in the world is a reflection of who we are. U cannot separate the world and what is happening within people. So we are not just in crisis in politics or in economics. Human beings are now in crisis with themselves.

Biocybernetics reveal that the more we delve into nature,the animal kingdom,plant life,eco systems,we see that everything is inter-connected through separate actions. Some of them we understand some we don't. But now, human society is becoming so integrated that it's like a single closed system that encompasses the entire globe. The crisis we are facing now is actually very unique. We are all closed together in the same system that we can no longer do whatever we want in it. World leaders and presidents have lost the ability to manage the people.

It is though the world has began to move without any rings but rather a new law of interdependence of connections. The same law that is characteristic of integral systems. And here we see world leaders can't even make decisions,whether it's G8 or G20. And even if they arrive at something,they can't even realise it.

In science,we started as Newton ian physicist. We started pretending like we are machines and that was still working for sometime but that changed with biologists coming along. Biology said we are machines but machines with competition and survival in mind. We fight for our survival through competition. So our higher values are important only if they are important for survival. Outside survival,there is no other impetus for the human being. Because of this idea,we have become extremely competitive. "If someone else has something,I must get it and if someone else does not have it,I must get it before he does". And this idea is causing HAVOC in our society.

Much of our progress in human civilisation has been driven by 'egoistic' competition. People tried to outdo each other and that created better science,better technology etc
However,now we are at a point where this ego drive has become so extreme that we will stop at nothing to be more or have more than others. And so companies are destroying Ecosystem. Bankers are creating Economic crisis. People are building themselves on the ruin of others.

Our food supplies are increasingly at risk,water resources are increasingly being strained and our financial systems continue to be highly volatile and risky.
At the same time,we are also discovering how all our systems are inter-connected and interdependent. Clearly,business as usual,is a dead end.

In the previous days and times we have been involved not exclusively but largely in the process of individual survival-how do I get through the day,how do I go through the week,how do I get through the month? In the 21st century,we are learning now that we can no longer concentrate on individual survival strategies but unless we begin to assemble those strategies and learn how we can survive collectively less no individual will be able to survive in the long run. I don't want to be an alarmist but I do realise that we are facing a very critical time right now.

The separation,theology that humanity has established through the years has created the separation cosmology. That is a cosmological way of looking at things that says everything is separate from everything else. The separation cosmology has produced a separation sociology,that is a way of socialising with each other that says am over here,u are over there and our interests will not meet unless they do. If they do,we will finally cooperate but if our interests do not meet,if we have separate interests,I MaY Just Have to Harm u or I may in fact just have to Kill you.

There is an old story,a grandfather was speaking to his grandson in the lounge. The grandson actually came in and said,"I had a dream last night and in the dream there were two wolves fighting. One was a black wolf while the other was white. The black wolf feared me,Grandfather but white wolf made me feel hopeful. Which one will survive?" The grandfather said,"the one you feed the most".

Now this is the nature of humanity,the nature of humans. As we have both,which one are we going to feed? The one we feed the most is the one we will see in the world.

THE ASH EXPERIMENT
This is one of Psychologists oldest and the most popular pieces of research. A volunteer is told he is taking part in a VISUAL PERCEPTION TEST. What he doesn't know is that the other participants are actors,that he is the only one taking part in the real test which is actually about group conformity. The actors have been told to march the wrong lines. The volunteer will be monitored to see if he gives the correct answer or if he goes with the opinion of the group to give the wrong answer.

The Ash conformity experiment has been repeated many times. Its been suggested that first,the distortion occurs at the level of ACTION. The subject believes the others are wrong yet goes along with them anyway. Then it happens at the level of JUDGEMENT. The subject begins to think,maybe they are seeing something am not seeing. Then it happens at the level of PERCEPTION which means the subject's actual perception on whether he is wrong or right is distorted by the majority. Now when u link this conclusions to what's happening in the world today,u have ask;in what way have we been using the influence of SOCIETY which is probably the most powerful force in human psychology?

The environment is primarily responsible in shaping the Behaviour and Genetics. U are in fact,a Social organism created by your environment. If there is no you and me, once you begin to think about how everything you do has been thought you one way or the other,granted you are putting things together and making decisions but your decisions are limited to the information that has been giving to you in what you have learned. So we are a walking Amalgam of a Social Engineering so to say. If I see myself a separate from everything else that I could say is incorrect. For instance,everyone knows they have to breath. Through time,people will have to understand their integrity is only as good as the integrity of everything around them.

What is happening in Science and public is really quite pathetic. What is happening is that by pretending to be SOMETHING,we are becoming that SOMETHING.

ThE STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT.
In 1971,today's well known Psychologist PHILIP ZIMBARDO decided to examine what would happen if you take perfectly normal and healthy young students, and created a prison-like environment within Stanford University and tell them;for the next three weeks,some of you will act as prisoners and some as guards. One day into the experiment,a riot broke out. The guards started humiliating the prisoners. They used physical punishments,some became extremely sadistic. The prisoners began to have emotional break downs. Some had to be removed from the study early and after only six days,the experiment had to be completely shut down.

By pretending we are mindless matter,we are just materials and that's it,we are excluding the final aspects of our life and experience and this is very serious business.

MATTER vs MEANING
If you take Darwinian theory that says we are in a competition and we have to compel each other as to where we felt. Combining it with the Newton ian Vision from physics that the primacy of the universe is found in the physical structure. Then you put those two together and you say how do you know where you fit into the Darwinian world,how much material do you want? Evolution of humanity since Newton ian times was to extract the material from the planet so we can have possessions. The possessions are reflections of where we stand in the hierarchy. If you are very low in the hierarchy of human life, you have nothing. If you are very high in the human life,you have money,houses and toys and all these things. So they say well, then who suffers from all these? There is actually great suffering at every level whether they are suffering in the physical planet or human civilisation there is suffering all over. In other for me as a human approved by hierarchy I have to extract the material from the planet. So what do I do? I mine the planet,I rape the planet of all the possessions so I can hold in my hand this chunk of Gold and say "see how much I am worth",WHERE IS YOUR GOLD?

Theory of Evolution is not based on the community but based on the individual. Newton ian physics said its only the visible things that are relevant. But in a world based on Quantum physics which is based on Energy, some of the things we understand in the nature of Energy are our emotions,feelings such as love and beauty. These are expressions of Energy and in a world of Quantum physics,we truly emphasis more on the nature of love and feelings,energy,beauty and harmony over the money and the material expressions that we look at today. When you look at the world,you say-do you want a Pound or Gold or do you want to be totally in love all your life?

You know the funny thing we fail to realise,we made this whole thing up. Do you know why Gold is worth what it is today,because someone said so. Do you know why fuel is cost thing much today,cos someone said so. Someone speculates and decides,there is a belief and then people join in. We are interested in processing MEANING and VALUES. It's the Society,the media specially that puts ordinary people into this vane search of material things. People didn't live this way 60years ago. This is just a very recent phenomenon that if you have two phones instead of one in your pockets,somehow you will be better off.

The average US person now consumes twice as much as they did 50years ago. How did this happen?
Shortly after WW2,these guys were figuring how to ramp up the economy. Someone articulated a solution that has become a norm for the whole system. He said, "OUR ENORMOUSLY PRODUCTIVE ECONOMY DEMANDS THAT WE MAKE CONSUMPTION OUR WAY OF LIFE,THAT WE CONVERT THE BUYING OF GOODS INTO RITUALS, THAT WE SEEK OUR SPIRITUAL SATISFACTION,OUR EGO SATISFACTION...WE NEED THINGS CONSUMED,BURNED UP,REPLACED AND DISCARDED AT AN EVER-ACCELERATING RATE".

Advertisement and the media play a big role in this. Each of us is targeted with over 3000 advertisement today. We have seen more adverts in 1year than people saw over 50years ago. Think about it for a a moment,what's the point of an "ADD" if not to make us unhappy with what we have already. So 3000 times a day,we are told our hair is wrong,our skin is not cool,our clothing is outdated,our cars are old and we are wrong as well. But it can all be made right if we can just go shopping.

Someone opined that the space between the TV and viewer should be secret. What's the best thing that has happened to you in the past one month? What really brings you JOY? What gives meaning in your life? If you ask university students what they aspire to get,they talk about money but if you ask them what the best thing was that happened to them in the last one month,they mention experiences with other people. They never mention possessions. So on an intuitive level,people do understand what it is that brings them JOY but sometimes they have to find out the HARD WAY.

CHANGE
Hope you remember the Slogan from President Obama's first term Campaign,IS THE ECONOMY STUPID? I think the question should be IS THE WORLDVIEW STUPID? Unless the worldview changes, unless the worldview acknowledges listening to the values,listening to the personal and social meaning of life,unless we do this,real sense cannot come.

The change of man is the key to changing everything else in the world. Without it,nothing will significantly change. What we need is not just solutions to current problems but fundamental transformation which means the change of values,the change of thinking,the change of consciousness,change in the way human beings think and act.

First,let me start by stating that Saudi Arabia response to possible US use of force in Syria will be in support of US actions just like the Uk. I believe WW3 is inevitable as it stands now. Permit me to guide you through the line of signs to buttress my point.

The Economy is not going to bounce back. It's not going to rise back as the media and politicians try to convince us. This Global recession or more accurately, this global depression that we have been in the past five years is not a temporary down-turn,it's the beginning of the end of an era.
After the crash of 2008,a lot people started caring about things like monetary policy,national debt,central banking and they began to educate themselves in these topics in order to understand what was happening and get some ideas on what was coming. In response,scores of internet pundits and self made economists rose up to answer the questions and predict when and how the system will fall.
Unfortunately,many of these will be teachers ended in promoting an outdated world view that has left out the most important variables and as a result,their predictions fell flat on their face over and over again. For instance,when the federal reserve began flooding the economy with cash as a bail-out,many predicted this will lead to hyper-inflation. They were wrong. They were because they didn't understand what actually gives the DOLLAR value.

The US DOLLAR is debt-based,it's not backed by gold of any other precious medal. It's also true that when money is created as debt it comes with interest and the money dependent on interest never exist. Therefore it is inherently a positive scheme doomed to fail from the start.
However,it's not entirely accurate to say the DOLLAR is backed by nothing. USD which is the world reserve currency and therefore affects everyone on this planet,is backed by two things- Oil and the US military.

After 'Madison' ended the gold tenure in 1971 he immediately began brokering deals with every member of the OPEC,offering them military protection in exchange for them selling their oil in USD. By 1975 every OPEC nation has been brought into this agreement. Not pointing out that if you needed to buy oil in international markets,you need a federal reserve note,not meant that America could not provide as much funny money as they wanted and the rest of the world would still have to use it just as long as no one in OPEC backed out. This arrangement is called the PETRO DOLLAR status. This is what prevents the USD from going into hyper inflation like a normal currency might.

The Dollar has also lost a great deal of it's presumed value since 1970s. However,the inflation and the economic effects of the federal reserve policies are not proportional to what u will see in a country like Australia if they did the same thing to their currency. This is due to the fact that the demand for dollar created by the Petro-dollar status mitigates inflation to a large degree by distributing the consequences globally rather than merely affecting the United States.
Essentially,America gets to write our checks,the rest of the world has to pay the bill.
The "gigo" is perfect for America as long as no one decides to buck the system like Iraq did in 2000 by trying to sell their Oil(s) in Euro or like Libya did by trying to pull most of Africa up the Dollar or like Iran is doing now. As long as the US military is able to crush or intimidate any Oil producing nation that defies them,Petro-dollar arrangement will stand and the Dollar will retain its position.

What this means is that the Economic collapse cannot be predicted by looking at Stock market charts,Interest rates,GDP or any of these standard Economic indicators because as long as America has the power to write hot checks that the entire planet expends,they will keep bailing out the banks and co-operations. There is no question about that whatsoever.
As of now,our course is geared towards a third world war. This is where the game will most likely play out unless we take drastic actions. This is where we need to be putting out attention.
The showdown is developing in Syria and Iran with the US finally acknowledging that military action is being planned for many years. The evidence was readily available for those who cared to research into it.
China and Russia has been warning the US and NETO not to go down the path of force in Iran or Syria unless ready for a third war nuclear war. In spite of this,US has been steadily pushing forward,ignoring their warnings.
But why Iran? Because Iran is sitting on the world 3rd largest oil reserve and because Iran is not bowing down to the US and NETO. They don't like the Petro-dollar and they have been pushing for an alternative. So somehow,there are indications that the US is definitely looking for a way to get Iran to a war.
Iran and Syria already has a mutual defence agreement. Iran is already sending troops to Syria in their defence. Russia is also signalling its involvement,sending advanced anti-aircraft missiles to the Syrian government and positioning its forces close to the coasts of Syria.

"The Formal relations",an organisation which has been calling for Iran inversion for years now of which has Hilary and many other key people in America as members,recently advised President Obama late last year(2012) to attack Iran.
The powers-that-be want to kick this next conflict off very soon,in a matter of months if all go smoothly. Whether they are able to pull that off,is another question. If the United States and NETO go into Syria,and the conflict spreads into Iran,the result will be disastrous. This won't be a reply of Iraq or Afghanistan,it will be a whole new level of WAR. The type that will most likely draw in Russia and China with a high potential of bringing the entire planet into ruin.

Even the so-called powers that be won't be able to control the chain of events that will follow. They are quite literally playing chicken with nuclear weapons,gambling on all of our lives with their deranged power games. Why? Because the powers that be,want to stay in control. If the economy is allowed to grind to a halt "volcanically",they know they will lose all leverage in the situation.
As conditions worsen,the people will begin to rise up and it will only be a matter of time before their house of "cults" fall. To avoid that scenario,they are going to prompt by engineering the crisis. They are going to knock over the game board like a spoilt brat using War to bring humanity to its needs till we are begging for a solution.

And then of course,they will offer that solution,solution that even turns them even more powerful. Now when you see just how many variables are involved here,how many of these variables are human decisions which are impossible to predict. It should be clear that there is no way to pin down the "clubs" through defending the day. That said,the escalation in Syria and Iran next has a real potential to set off a chain reaction that could very easily bring the global economy to its needs.
This could be spotted by breakdown in our supply chain as the transport checkpoint or due to a key Oil producing country like Saudi Arabia becoming unstable or falling under Chinese or Russian control.
Any conflict that involves Iran will inherently cause world prices to sky-rocket.

Historically,the governments have always used war as a cover to stand up political opponents.
As revealing and fascinating as this write up might be,rather than obsessing about how and when this will be, we need to do everything in our power to alter our current course. We must prevent the powers that be from drawing us into a 3rd world war. We must neutralise their capacity to detect the chain of events domestically. That's going to require wide spread disobedience within the military and civilian. In fact,we need a revolution. [/i]
