Politics4 Ways Nigerian Youths Can Revive The Country by NGrevolution(op): 3:32pm On Sep 23, 2016
Nigeria, the giant of Africa is suddenly in a state of paranoia, it has been gripped by fear and uncertainty, a country once beaming with life is suddenly on life support, the youths are mostly unemployed with a future that seems stolen from them, the older adults those who are not involved in the countries 2 most lucrative businesses politics and oil and gas are hungry, struggling, with most of them being owned salaries and pensions. The situation gets worse by the day with different killings and bombings, major cases of child abuse and domestic violence as well increasing human rights abuse, all this happening at such pace that it seems we have lost our country but I tell you there is hope, there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. Here are 4 ways Nigerian youths can help revive the country. 1. EXPRESSING LOVE AMONG THEMSELVES: In our country today, we have different divisions across each sector no unity at all, if not the tribal divisions, it’s the political power tussle between APC vs. PDP which unfortunately some youths are the agents of destruction and distractions we also have the Christian and Muslim (Islamic) grandiose delusion amongst us and within the Christian religion we have the Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal divisions and delusions. All these have brought our country to a halt; Nigeria is currently experiencing its most stagnant growth in decades. Solution: youths should begin expressing unconditional love among themselves, no tribalism and no religious bigotry even party divisions should stop. Love opens doors, love brings opportunities, the earlier we understand that the quicker we reach our goals
2. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: Many youths in Nigeria don’t know their rights, some even don’t know what exactly they want, so many don’t know their roles in nation building as such they neglect their rights to politicians, security agencies and the government who end up abusing these rights, after some of these youths will be claiming leaders of tomorrow. Let me ask you, which tomorrow? Is it the one that has been stolen from you? My brother wake up, know your rights and fight for it diligently and peacefully
3. NETWORKING: The ability to connect with people of like minds and same goals is a key factor to be successful, In Nigeria today the friends or group of friends most youths keep today usually comprises the yahoo boys or ‘street boys’ cliche, the different frat groups, womanizing cliche , football argument and analyses cliche as well as the now highly celebrated drug addiction circle, all this to the detriment of these individuals and the society in general, excluding a few good friends many of us youths keep so many unnecessary friends who contribute little or nothing to our foreseeable future, it is time to change that solution: network and connect with innovative and success driven individuals who would create opportunity for you to excel.
4. SPEAK OUT: It is time for youths to realize they have a voice and the earlier they use their voice to speak and engage the leaders the quicker innovative policies and reformation would be implemented, rarely do we see youth motivational speakers and activist. The speaking and activism has been abandoned to the elders, the same elders we claim that have failed us, it is time to know your rights and use your voice to speak changes for yourself. Don’t wait for the president or senators to do that for you. Clearly they are not interested so brothers and sisters speak out
