PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME:
Duration: One Academic Session in Science, Agriculture and Education (Science)
Location: Pre-degree Directorate
Admission Requirements:
Credit-level passes at not more than two sittings in (WASC/NECO/GCE O/L, NABTECH) English
Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject
and at least a pass in Physics. Students admitted into the Pre-degree programme with a Credit in
Agriculture and/or pass in Physics will only be sent to the Faculty of Agriculture on successful
completion of the programme.
Applicants awaiting results may also apply. Such applications shall only be considered on receipt of
the pending results within the period allowed for such consideration.
Applicants must have 2018 JAMB result.
2 PRE-DEGREE IN FRENCH STUDIES
Duration: One full academic session.
Location: Pre-degree Directorate
Admission Requirements:
Five Credit-level passes in WASC/GCE O’ level/NECO, NABTECH at not more than two sittings,
including English Language and one Arts or Social Science subject. JAMB results for 2018 will be
used.
Note: A pre-knowledge of French is not a requirement.

3 BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN LINGUISTICS AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES
Location: Faculty of Arts
Admission Requirements:
(a) FIVE (5)YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidates must have credits in five O/level relevant subjects, including English Language and
Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
(b) FOUR (4)YEAR PROGRAMME
For Direct entry admission, Candidate must in addition to (a) above possess at least the NCE in
Linguistics or any Nigerian or foreign language, a college diploma or certificate in TESL.

4 DEPARTMENT OF CONTINUING EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES
The Department currently awards a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree in Continuing Education and
Development Studies in the following areas.
Literacy and Vocational Education, Community Development, Extension and Social Development,
Cooperative Management, Correspondence and Distance Education, Women Education and
Development, Industrial and Labour Studies, Social Work Education, Environmental Adult Education,

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Four (4) year programme (Direct Entry)
A pass at Merit level in a relevant Diploma in Education (provided the University Matriculation
requirement has been satisfied)

i) Two (2) passes in relevant subject areas at A/level with SSCE/GCE O’Level Credit passess in
three (3) other subjects at not more than two sittings or
ii) Merit passes in two (2) major subjects in relevant areas in NCE with GCE O’Level Credit or its
equivalent in five (5) other subjects.
iii) Five (5) Credit passes in the Senior Secondary School (SSCE) Certificate, including English
Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings or its equivalent in relevant subject
areas in addition to an acceptable pass in University Matriculation (UME) qualifications for
admission into the University.
2. Five (5) year programme (CES)
i) Holders of Diploma at pass level from the Department of Continuing Education and
Development Studies or its equivalent from recognised institutions are eligible to apply. In
addition to the above, candidates must also posses five (5) Credits O/Level including English
Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.
ii) Holders of GCE/WASCE/SSCE/NECO/TCII or NABTECH with five (5) Credits at not more
than two (2) sittings including English Language and Mathematics are eligible to apply.
iii) Holders of two (2) A/Level papers or IJMB or equivalent qualification at one sittings plus three
(3) O/Level Credit in two other subjects from those obtained at the A/Level are eligible to apply.
5 1. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND PLANNING
Location: Faculty of Education
Admission Requirement:
(a) FOUR (4)YEAR PROGRAMME
(i) Post NCE with credit or merit passes in at least one major subject, credit in English
Language and Mathematics in Non-Science options at O/Level obtained in not more
than two sittings.
(ii) Diploma in Education and other relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary
institution with five (5) credits at O/L including English Language and Mathematics in
not more than two sittings.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Five O/Level credit passes to include English Language, and Mathematics, in not more
than two sittings.
Teaching Options:
Educational Administration is offered alongside any of the under-listed options:

6 2. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (B.ED.
EDU.TECHNOLOGY)
Location: Faculty of Education
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4) YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidate seeking admission into the Bachelor’s degree in Education Technology must possess
one of the under- listed minimum qualifications:
(i) NCE with an overall pass at MERIT level or above provided the candidate also has at least
three O/level credits or its equivalent, including English Language and mathematic
(ii) Diploma in Education or in any related discipline approved by the University of Calabar or
any recognized University at MERIT level in addition to three credit passes in relevant O/level
subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Five O’ level credit passes in WACE/GCE/SSCE/NECO/TC II, including English Language
and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
7 3. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Location: Faculty of Education
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4) YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidates seeking admission into Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Education must
possess one of the following qualifications:
(a) NCE or its equivalent in two teaching subjects at MERIT level. The candidate should also
possess at least five O/level credits or its equivalent including English Language and
Mathematics
(b) Diploma in Education or in any related discipline approved by the University of Calabar
obtained at merit level provided the candidate also has at least five credit passes at O/level
including English Language and Mathematics.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PPROGRAMME
Applicant must have the SSCE/WACE/GCE/NECO/TC II with passes at Credit level in at least
five relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics obtained in not more than
two settings.

i) Environmental Education in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology )
ii) Environmental Education in Social Science (Geography, Economics, Political Science,

8 1. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING
Location: Faculty of Management Sciences
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4) YEAR PROGRAMME
(i) Five O/Level GCE/SSCE or NECO credit passes including English Language,
Mathematics and Economics and any other two (2) Social Science subjects at not more
than two sittings.
(ii) In addition to meeting the basic admission requirements stated above, candidates
must also have merit in Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accounting. A University
of Calabar Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) with CGPA of 3.50 or any other
equivalent qualification that may be accepted by the Department.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Five O/Level GCE, SSCE or NECO credit passes to include English Language,
Mathematics and Economics and any other two (2) Social Science subjects obtained at
not more than two sittings.
9 2. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BANKING AND FINANCE
Location: Faculty of Management Sciences
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4)YEAR PROGRAMME
(i) Five O/Level GCE/SSCE or NECO, credit passes including English Language,
Mathematics and Economics at not more than two sittings.
(ii) In addition candidate must possess a University of Calabar Diploma in Management
Sciences, Economics or Computer Science from any recognized institution.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Five O/Level GCE, SSCE or NECO credit passes which must include English
Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other Social Science subject obtained
at not more than two sittings.
10 3. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Location: Faculty of Management Sciences
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4) YEAR DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMME
Candidate for the four (4) Year Evening Programme must in addition to five (5) credits
including English Language and Mathematics at the O/level also posses OND in Business
Administration, Banking and Finance, Accounting or Marketing merit level and above from a
recognized institution. Candidates with Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least lower
credit in the relevant field and equally those with University Degree may also apply.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidates for the five (5) Year Evening Programme must obtain five (5) credit passes
including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject in
SSCE or its equivalent obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.
11 4. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN MARKETING
Location: Faculty of Management Sciences
Admission Requirements:
FOUR (4) YEAR DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMME
Candidate for the four (4) Year Evening Programme must in addition to meeting the
requirements stated above also posses the University of Calabar Diploma (ND) or (OND) in the
relevant field at merit level and above from a recognized institution. Candidates with the Higher
National Diploma (HND) with Lower Credit in the relevant field, and equally those with
University Degree may also apply. Academic Transcripts are required in all cases for the Direct
Entry Admission.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidate for the five (5) Year Evening Programme must obtain five (5) credit passes including
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject in SSCE or
its equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings.

12 1) BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (BPA)
Location: Faculty of Social Sciences
Admission Requirements:
a. FOUR (4) YEAR PROGRAMME
In addition to the basic entry requirement, applicant should possess a Diploma from a
recognized institution in these relevant fields. Public Administration, Personnel
Management, Applied Economics, Political Science, Social Work, Business
Administration, Law, Mass Communication and Philosophy
OR
Hold ND/ HND/NCE or equivalent qualifications in a relevant course from institutions
recognized by the University.
b. FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Five O/Level credits in GCE, SSCE,WAEC, NECO or its equivalent to include English
Language, Government and Mathematics in not more than two (2) sittings.

2) BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN POLICY AND ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES(PAS)
Location: Faculty of Social Sciences
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4) YEAR PROGRAMME
Any applicant should possess a diploma from a recognized institution in any of these relevant
fields: Public Administration, Personal Management, Applies Economics, Political Science,
Social Work, Business Administration, Law Mass Communication and Philosophy.
OR
Hold ND/ HND/NCE or equivalent qualifications in a relevant course from institutions
recognized by the University.
(b) FIVE (5)YEAR PROGRAMME
Admission is open to holders of the following :
5 Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/WACE/NECO which must include English Language,
Government, Mathematics and any two Art or social Science subjects obtained in not more than
two sittings.
14 3) BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK (SWK)
Location: Faculty of Social Science
Admission Requirements:
Entry into the degree programme could be obtained either through the University Matriculation
Examination (UME) or Direct Entry (DE). Students with acceptable score points (above 200)
and as to be determined by the (Central Admission Board) in the Joint Matriculation
Examination are expected to have five O’level credits in relevant Arts or Social Sciences
subjects, Viz: English Language, Mathematics, Government, History, Economics, Geography,
Christian Religious knowledge, Tourism and Civic Education.
Direct Entry
For Direct Entry (3 years) the department accepts Diploma in Social Work with a pass at the
Credit level from its own University or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
In addition to the above, the candidate must also possess the basic qualification of at least five
(5) credits at the GCE/WASC/SSCE/NECO in one sitting or two sittings, one of which must be
English Language and Mathematics.
OR
(i) Five (5) papers in GCE/WASCE/SSCE including at least 2 papers at the advanced level (A￾Level): the O-Level papers must include a credit in English and Mathematics.
OR
(ii) Practicing professionals with Diploma in Social Work, or equivalent (e.g. Social Welfare,
Social Development, Youth Development, Rural-Development, Community Development),
Theatre Arts, H.Sc., OND, Philosophy, English, DBA with at least three (3) years post
qualification experience.
It should be noted that all direct entry candidates shall be admitted for 3 years programme and
UME students will run 4 years full time programme.
15 4) BACHELOR’S DEGREE (B.SC) IN ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCE
MANAGEMENT (ERM)
Location: Faculty of Social Science
Admission Requirements:
(a) FOUR (4)YEAR PROGRAMME
(i) Holders of the Ordinary Diploma of the Environmental Education of Unical or any
other approved equivalent at Merit Level or above, with additional (5) (five credits at
not more than two sittings in the GCE, O/L, WASC, NECO, SSCE or NABTECH,
including English Language and Mathematics and any other three related subjects.
(ii) Holders of NCE with Geography and any Social/Natural Sciences as main teaching
subject, provided the candidates has the minimum University entry requirement of five
credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics and
any other Science, Arts or Social Science subjects.
(b) FIVE (5) YEAR PROGRAMME
Candidates with minimum University entry requirements of five (5) credits, including
English Language and Mathematics and any other Science, Arts or Social Science
Subjects will be considered.

Mini importation business is generally the act of buying goods directly from manufacturers or online stores whose prices in far more lesser than its price in the market.
The question now is ; since I'm in Nigeria, how can I get this goods delivered to me with its total price lesser than the original market price? It is 100% possible.
Most times you see some goods such as wrist watches, chains etc with a fixed price of N500 in the market and when you go online, you realize the price is N100. You will be like arh! How come?

You may stand and say" if I can get this watch delivered to me with total cost of N200, I can sell mine for N350 and I'll end up attracting more customers to myself instead of the man that sells same goods for N500."

How can I achieve this?
You need to know a core basic in this business. First step should be your market survey! Yes. You need to look into the market to know how much a particular product costs and which product is readily sort for. When you get this knowledge, then you move on to step two which is the choice of an online store. I use Alibaba more often because of their credibility and secured delivery. After this step, you need to search for that product you identified in step one and its similarities. Here, you will see different products of same designs and quality and different stores and manufacturers.
Identify the ones with high quality rating and cheap costs, then add them to the cart noting the change in price against he country chosen. Don't be too quick in ordering for it, because you may completely get stuck if you do. Note these facts before you proceed:

1. After your order, you will decide which medium you want the goods to be delivered. We have EXPRESS and CARGO! If you choose express, the goods will deliver in less than 7days and the price of shipping is very high. Sometimes higher than product. If you choose cargo, the goods arrives in 14-21 days time and the shipping fee is less. Now the mathematics there is this; if your plan is to buy this goods N100 and your expenses on each is N100 and you plan to sell N400 to capture customers from the man that sells N500, YOU MUST CHECK THE WEIGHT PER KG OF ONE PIECE OF THE PRODUCT, GET THE PRICE PER KG AND MULTIPLY IT BY THE NUMBER OF PRODUCTS YOU ARE ABOUT TO ORDER. EXAMPLE: I want to order 20 pieces of smiley bags for N100 each, 1 pcs weighs 1kg and price for 1kg is N1, this will make the total kg of the whole goods to be 20kg and its price will be N20. This means that it will cost you N20 to ship 20pcs of smiley bags to your location. In order words, the cost of getting 20 pcs of the bag will be N120.

2. Now you can proceed in ordering for the goods. This goods will arrive Lagos boarder on the said delivery time ( for CARGO Only). And if you are in Lagos, you just have to walk to the boarder and claim your goods. Note that, the store may include a token of about $1-2 for taking it to the supplier who will send it to Lagos. When you get to the boarder, you pay for the shipping fee you calculated above and you take your goods. If you are not in Lagos, you will now send any agent there to help you carry the goods and send them to you ( warebill footed by you). You will then see that the total cost spent on the goods won't affect the price you want to sell it and you will make good money.

Low Jamb score should not be a reason to back off from pursuing your dreams. There are alternatives which should be considered for you to successfully get admission into a federal university. Most of us here have given up already, seeing how Jamb scores us very low in all exams we've attempted. There is every need to look for alternatives to get into a federal university.

In this post I will be using one federal university which I can help you get into it with a low jamb score or no Jamb result at all (non-science). Here I will be telling you about UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR, CROSS RIVER STATE. You can be admitted into this University with low jamb score or without jamb exam. It is a normal programme which awards you with same certificate given to those that entered via Jamb. You've got nothing to lose after all and nothing to panic about during the academic session.

If you have a low jamb score, don't think of giving up, all I advice you today is to do a change of institution and put UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR, and chose a course from the list of courses I will tell you. I assure you of getting admission into the university. For those that scored lower than 160, I can only help you get into MARINE SCIENCE and OCEANOGRAPHY. For those with NO jamb result, you can only get into a five year course meant for non science students.

If you want to get into a federal university via direct entry, you can also do a change of institution to UNICAL and let me get your slip as soon as possible, so that you'll be admitted even with awaiting result or 2.2 & 3.
