Sagamite:

To me, there are 2 highly likely manifestation of the restriction:

1) This will lead to slight hike in fees as universities try to fill the funds gap that the previous volume of students provided by charging the smaller body of students more. This is even more likely to happen if they cannot charge home students more in fees.

Or

2) There will be no change in fees for serious students as the restriction is more likely to be mostly applied to students that are trying to attending all the quack colleges (teaching English, BusAdmin, Commerce etc) that students use to get visa and never really attend and instead work. If this was the case then this is unlikely to affect the serious students attending any of the 120 or so universities in the UK.

Hi @Saga

thanks for the info.

Further to this, do you envision any employment restrictions by the UK Govt on international students after concluding their studies from any of the elite Unis?

@Saga, Tier1,

Hello everyone,

Please whats your take on the new UK tuition fees increase in view of non EU students? Also, there are speculations that the UK govt plans on highly limiting the number of international students coming to UK Unis from nxt year. How would this affect international students especially prospective Postgraduates like myself from Naija?

Thanks Sagamite,

I'll follow your advice about the Scottish school. It seems like you said, that it may have a competitive adv. over the English ones. Im checking it and the city (Glasgow) out and I see that the Silicon Glen is situated there. Maybe this will sway me there as I believe the IT industry @ Glen should provide internship and job opportunities for students.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted,

ciao wink

Thanks Sagamite, smiley

Actually, I just made a preliminary search of business schools that offer Msc with an IT slant and I've found a couple of courses in Uni. of Lancaster's Management School. Also, somone just told me that the Manchester Business School does a course called Msc. Business IT, even though I hv'nt been able to access their website angry!

Please advise me on the above in terms of reputation, employability, etc in light of your earlier post regarding Strathclyde.

Hope it aint too much to ask?

Ciao! grin

Hello Sagamite,
I'm kinda new to this forum even though i'v been following your insightful posts for a while.
I'm contemplating an international management career in the IT industry. Can you please lend me your expert advice on which quality UK business schools offer the most reputable Management MSCs with a bias in IT? Someone once reccomented Strathclyde, but the name sounds strange so I really need an insider's opinion!
Also, which business schools have a subtantial number of students venturing into IT management after graduation?
I'm counting on U and y'all keep up the good work!!!
