JAMB Cut-Off Marks For 2014 Released read bellow | Hello my beautiful naija people,finally the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB), has finally made up their mind on 2014 cut-off marks for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination,also known as UTME as anticipated by everyone.

JAMB refused to make a change from the previous and decided to retain the normal 180 for admission into Nigeria universities .

And also the cuteoff mark for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education als remain 150 as well.

At least 91 persons, were said to have been abducted by Boko Haram men between Thursday and Sunday from the Kumanza,Yaga and Dagu, Damboa and Dagu, Damboa and Askira Uba Local Government Areas of Borno State, local vigilante officials said yesterday night.


Four other villagers were killed while attempting to escape from their abductors, said Aji Khalil, Chairman, Sector 5 of the local vigilante group in Borno State. Continue…

Khalil who spoke on the telephone said: “More than 60 women were among the villagers abducted by Boko Haram terrorists.

“Some suspected Boko Haram members invaded Kumanza, Yaga and Dagu villages and kidnapped 91 persons.

“More than 60 married women and young girls as well as children and young men were forcefully taken away by Boko Haram terrorits. Four villagers, who tried to escape were shot dead on the spot”, Khalil said on telephone yesterday night.

Another source said: ”They went from one village to the other, killed about 30 people and took away many children and women.” He added that hundreds of villagers around the area have now fled to Lassa to take refuge.

The attacks were not immediately known in Maiduguri because of the remoteness of the area. The affected villages are about 100 kilometres away from Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

There was no official confirmation either by the military or police in the state at press time. Also, chairman of Damboa Local Government, Alhaji Alamin Mohammed could not be reached on his mobile phone while the council secretary, Modu Mustapha insisted he was not authorized to speak on the matter.

Meanwhile, four suspected Boko Haram members have been arrested in Lassa few kilometres away to Kummabza, Gurdlagwal, Yafa and Yaza villages attacked weekend, residents said.

The four men were arrested while purchasing large quantities of foodstuffs at Lassa market, yesterday. The quantity of food items being purchased by the men, according to the source aroused the suspicion of traders and people in the market.

“People suspected the four men may be Boko Haram errand men, who came to the market to buy foodstuffs and also spy for the insurgents. “We’ve handed them over to the military for investigation,” a resident said.

The Police Command in Lagos State has paraded a 38-year-old man for allegedly being in possession of a fresh human head.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Ngozi Braide, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) NAN on Wednesday in Lagos.

She said that the man, name withheld, was arrested on Tuesday at Orile, Lagos by anti-robbery policemen, attached to the Orile Police Station.

“The police team that arrested the suspect was led by one Insp. Bernard Oyinlade, while they were conducting a ‘stop and search’ operation near the white sand area of Orile.

“The team stopped the man who was walking along the road with a polythene bag having suspected him and immediately called for a search.

“He immediately ran and was pursued ,men of the police later catch up with him.

“He was arrested and during the searching of his bag, a suspected fresh human skull was found.

“The suspect is undergoing investigation.

“He will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba for further investigations,” Braide said.

Adams Oshiomhole signs death penalty for kidnappers bill into Edo state law[i][/i]


Naija Gizt -It’s now law that any kidnapper convicted in Edo State Nigeria must receive a death penalty.

Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole confirmed on Friday that he has signed a bill prohibiting kidnapping into law.

Speaking while signing the law, the Governor said government would do everything within its powers to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

According to him “I have just signed into law a bill amending the Kidnapping Provision Law 2009 as amended by the state House of Assembly which now prescribes death penalty for anyone who is involved in any form of kidnapping”.
