Barcholder: Let's have a sensible, scientific discussion on how we can solve the power crisis in Nigeria, not resort to mindless Political points scoring. Do you know how long it takes to build a power plant? It's like 3 years or more, so even if Buhari commissioned 50,000MW of new Power plants in his first 100 days, we would not begin to feel their impact for at least 3 years.
Infrastructure development takes a long time and is extremely expensive. The only way you can scale up to meet the power problem quickly is by distributed Solar Power installations across millions of roofs across the country. Anything else, and we are just deceiving ourselves.
Regards
Uvie
You mean this sensible analysis applies to Buhari and not Jonathan, seeing as the APC party used it as one of their campaign score point. I know you are clamouring for solar power installations but is it the one who is finding it difficult to make power a priority that ll take solar power installation into consideration
So the problem started during pres Obasanjo's tenure and pres Jonathan inherited it and did his best on it. Meaning the little power we are getting now is from Jonathan's labour, well what's taking pres Buhari so long .
engrolawei: I dislike Obasanjo's ways, but I wonder why you will insult him. Where are our moral values? Why insulting people like Obasanjo, Jonathan, Buhari and other elders? They may have made grievous errors but you must respect them as elders if you want to be successful in life.
Sounds like I m supposed to be scared of an APE. I wud rather hang myself on a strand of hair. He is nothing but an Ex-CORRUPTioneer looking to make Mr Daura a protege. Now that's corruption.
Bluetooth2: Your papa fine, what are his achievement ?
He married my mum, an icon of vast intellect, ineffable beauty and a wealth of virtue. It takes a handsome and an equally honest leader to sweep her off her feet. And you ?
Myself2: The baboon is the worst thing to have happened to Nigeria.Im sure it's because the senators now want to probe how he looted billions of dollars under the guise of IPP that is the reason he is running to Buhari (who is equally corrupt and deceptive by the way) to help him out. Dear God please save Nigeria from this ugly curse called Obasinjo
Lamentations40:40. Op I think you need a physician yourself too. Boko-harams are not SHADING the blood, they are SHEDDING them. Meanwhile, I don't understand you.
Ramos16: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Brother na you know book pass Jare, no mind all these people. I have been looking for a way to explain it, but you have just captured it all, good one there.
You be teacher?
ha ha, nooo! But i do teach for fun. The amazing thing is that they solve the wrong thing with confidence
It's a shame that so many are getting this simple thing all twisted. Some are even inventing new bodmas method. My lil jss 1 student ll do this without even jotting it down. This thing is as simple as it gets. The thought that it's complicated is the beginning of failure.
Some claimed to be engineers, some said they have UK master's degree, some claimed they do maths for a living and yet they got 6 18 24 and even 35...
Som1 solved 3+3x3-3+3 =(3+3)x(3-3+3)=6x3=18
The above solution is fundamentally wrong and was dead from d start. How? Good. Here we have a mixed operation of - + and x signs and x is the most basic of them all which is why it shud be taken out first and unlike + and - the x sign basically join 2 integers together meaning it can't exist with only 1 integer like + and - the above solution ripped the multiplication sign (x) apart, saying ;;;
b+2xb-b+b= (b+2) x (b-b+b) wrong! But b+2xb-b+b= (b+2b-b+b) correct!
Some also solved 3+3x3-3+3 = 3+(9)-(3+3) =12-6=6
These set applied bodmas intuitively rather than insightfully. First of all u shud know that B- one operation O- one operation D&M- one operation A&S- one operation The order in which they perform is the other in which they are listed above from first(B) to last(A&S). Where you have only D&M for instance 3x4÷2x3=3x4=12÷2=6x3=18, it didn't matter which came first because they have the same standard of operation and this applies to A&S too.
Since the above problem has a variety of 2 operations the M(x)sign and A&S(+&-) sign respectively, take out the most basic i.e the (x) by bracketing it and you ll have
3+3x3-3+3 = 3+(3x3)-3+3 =3+9-3+3
Note: once the Multiplication(x) sign has been eliminated the D&M operation is out meaning you have only one operation left which is the A&S(+&-) and when solving only one operation of any kind, whether D&M or A&S the use of bracket is completely useless. This was where even the mighty fell.
sunnyb0b0: You must be d greatest dullard to think a minus sign in front of an integer following another integer makes the former a negative integer.
You are talking to someone who holds a Masters degree from a UK university, so shove that your UNIBEN masters where d sun doesn't shine.
well that's a shame to you. A good thing you didn't mention the uk university since u couldn't solve a problem as cheap as this. It's either you weren't well taught or didn't learn well, ok. Spare everyone the dirty master's degree fib. it's obviously just a paper-work.
Chynx: Addition and subtraction must be grouped together at all time! In the case below; the multiplication sign serves as a barrier between two different entities.
Therefore; 3+3×3-3+3 should be represented thus:
(3+3) × (3-3+3) = (6) × (3) = 18 QED.
Most people have arrived at 12 as their final answers...which simply reflects the 95% failure rate.
Note: Mathematics is what I do for a living.
can't help but wonder what u do with mathematics. Let show u what u ve just done. y+(yxy)-y+y =(y+y) x (y-y+y).
ucheuzor1: Why are we failing this simple question my fellow nairalanders including those in higher institution...pls for clarity sake, the answer is 6.from bodmas, u do ur multiplication b4 addition and finally subtraction.. from the given equation, 3+(3*3)-(3+3)= (3+9)-(6) =12-6=6
do u know that -(3+3)= -3-3=-6 ? I ve been laughing at everyone and didn't want to comment. If these are the kind of graduates this country produces I m not surprise we are where we are
frankgreat: BODMAS...3 MULTIPLY BY 3 EQUALS 9..THEN 9 PLUS 3 EQUALS 12....THEN ON THE OTHER SIDE, YOU ADD 3 PLUS 3 THAT IS 6...NOW SUBTRACT 6 FROM THE 12, THAT EQUALS 6......ANSWER IS 6...
3+3x3-3+3. 3x3=9, 9+3=12 you are left with -3+3, does this become 6 Where the hell did u get your 6. Simple question, you are adding unnecessary jara. I mean I ll make a mental arithmetic out of this piece of cake. Its a shame ppl are inventing new stupid formulas. Smh!
With my crunches....crush crush. @ OP, it isn't such a bad idea. A bit ironic the girl I had ever loved the most was the girl who walked up to me and told me what she felt.
Only if she is naturally loosed. It doesn't take intelligence to desire sex. So unless she's raped, they are most likely to be in agreement of whatever comes after that. so I really don't see any honeypot suffering, instead I see it relishing it.
Will Smith stars in the new movie Concussion which is the real-life story of Nigerian-American doctor Bennet Ifekandu Omalu, the doctor who first discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy (or CTE) after he conducted an autopsy on former NFL player Mike Webster. The movie follows Omalu’s struggle to get NFL executives to recognise the life threatening disease.
The movie is set for release in December.
While watching the movie trailer which was just released the one thing that struck me was Will Smith’s terrible “Nigerian” accent.
I do not know any Nigerian or Nigeria/American that speaks with the accent Will Smith is using in this movie. The accent sounds very East/Southern African to me. I would have expected an actor of Will Smith’s caliber to have done thorough research before taking on a movie like this and not followed the path of other mediocre actors who have also wrongly portrayed the Nigerian accent on film.
Surely it can’t be that hard to find Nigerians in America…I am disappointed…Big Willy fell my hand.
Americans need to realize Africans don’t all have the same accent…
Watch the trailer below & you decide if he nailed the Nigerian accent or not. I have also included a video of Bennet Omalu so you can listen for yourself & compare the accents.
And what's the complaint about Nigeria has a lot of tribes with different dialect and subsequently accent, was he supposed to use all the accent at a time. As Nigerian can you speak effectively two Nigerian languages without one being awfully accented I doubt that! Here you are trying to taint someone(an American) portray of a Nigerian. You surprise me! If your pain is that the accent sounded typical of the south-east, well i suggest suicide
free2ryhme: Let's be realistic. None of these accused have been charged to court.
So what is buhari doing
you don't charge people to court without a solid evidence. So unless what they ve claimed is completely false these whole act is just one big lie DRAMA for shallow Nigerians. I refuse to be fooled by fools, do you
