I've read about talks to unite the African Countries into a union similar to the United States but for Africa.

Do you endorse such an idea?

Is it safe to say a great part of the plunder and divison in Africa is due to European Colonization in influence?

Could a United Africa haved faired better fending off outside invaders?

it would be a union of strange bed-fellows. countries with different mindsets who have nt even tackled dere internal wranglings within demselves how do u now expect dem to have a committed attitude towards a united african union e.g. sudan has had for a long while n will still have for some time to come struggling for power bw d north n south.

though it is a laudable idea n could work. the challenges that is posed by the instability of member nations may nt allow the fruits of dis union to be visible.

for the question Is it safe to say a great part of the plunder and divison in Africa is due to European Colonization in influence?
yes most countries in africa where overly exploited by there colonial masters. a good example is staring us in d face everyday i.e.(nigeria) anoda example is zaire(now congo democratic republic ) but dis is nt to say dat african nations have nt also contributed immensely to the level of under-development inherent within them courtesy of greedy/despotic regimes(some also foisted on countries by western nations e.g. mobutu).

a strong n efficient african union is only feasible if d component nations r economically, politically as well as educationally stable asides dat, no meaningful result can be obtained we might as well stick to d apparatus we have nw.

I don't.

a county that massive and diverse would be ungovernable
plus what advantage would it be for anyone?

i also don't buy the idea that colonialism created more divisions cause prior to africa being 53 nations, it was 50,000 tribes.

No too complex due to the tribes, economic power and religious indifference. We can't even get ECOWAS to work the way it was envisioned.

Until African countries can unite in their individual nations - if not its not going to achieve anything. Or if we have an African leader who can be loved, strong, wealthy enough to help other nation's conflict, able to call others to order and resolve conflict between nations in Africa and other side - it will also help integrate AU.

Once forced amalgamations are done away with and nations that want to form their own countries are allowed, then maybe we can work something out.
