Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by tundewoods(m): 5:34pm On Jan 05, 2010 |
The 2009 Index’s failed states (Alert! category) are (from order of failure): Somalia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Guinea, Pakistan, Cote d’Ivoire, Haiti, Myanmar, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, North Korea, Yemen, Bangladesh, East Timor, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Niger, Burundi, Nepal, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Lebanon, Republic of the Congo, Uzbekistan, Sierra Leone, Georgia, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Tajikistan and Iran. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Failed_States_Index For me as an individual my attention to this word "Failed State" started when i heard a reporter on CNN refer to Yemen as a failed state shortly after the Delta airline bomb attempt on Dec. 25. Now Nigeria is gradually being refered to as a failed state. Goodness ! Honestly,It doesn't get any worse than this.

I have always said we are on a journey to Somalia which literally means a failed state. Nigeria cannot boast of anything our education has decayed , we can’t have decent housing, our health system is stagnant, roads in bad shapes, power non existing, we cannot feed ourselves, unemployment alarming, corrupt politicians ,we import virtually everything including clothing. we are indeed a failed state!!!! |
Re: Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by Tsiya(m): 6:24pm On Jan 05, 2010 |
Nigeria is not a fail state and it is wrong to categorize Nigeria among the top states. Most of these states have rebel groups that are either fighting to secceed from the country or trying to tople the government. In Nigeria we have non of these. Infact to prove the whole world how wrongly they percieve Nigerians, is the current state of our nation. Our President is missing, but still we are an entity. No fighting, no coupe, nothing. Probably Nigeria is the only country that can function on auto pilot. |

Tsiya: @ Tsiya How long do you think we can continue with this auto piloting presidency ? |
Re: Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by Tsiya(m): 6:39pm On Jan 05, 2010 |
If Yar'adua did not appear within the next 2 weeks, I bet the FEC and the NASS will do something. They will not allow us to crash. We are not going to crash land. We will get a new pilot soon who will pick up speed. It is just the Nigerian way of doing things. Dithering and procrastinating. Scheming and lobbying. Respect and differing. The pressure is mounting |

Ironically, we satisfy all the requirements for the categorisation as a failed state. A dwindling economy, incessant religious and political unrests, undemocratic tendencies, unscrupulous and unpatriotic politicians, endemic corruption, sick nation ruled by ailing leaders, absentee President, |

The poster asks 'Is Nigera gradually becoming failed state?' I'd say no cos of two words in there, gradually and becoming, So when u remove those two words, my answer will be YES!!!!!!!!!!! And is Nigeria repentant about that? I think not! At least surely not it's leaders. |

President missing like a needle in a hay sack. A simple promise of 6Gig watts of power could not even be fulfilled. Yet some lawbreakers and legislatheives are clamoring for immunity. They deemed it fit that some rich bad ass ex-leaders pay check should rise by 10000% at a time people are losing jobs. Our number one priority is a befitting 7billion Naira building of VICE president Awarding 250Million contract to exterminate termites in Aso rock. In fact i have stopped blaming these people. I only blame my parents. I didn't even see Ghana on the list Ghana-Giant of Africa Nigeria--giANT of Africa. God bless America. |

Niigeria is not a failed state. how many wars are been fought on our soil? those nigerians that are saying nigeria is a failed state are actually doing what the western world really wants us to do. give up hope so they can come in and take what they want. look at all these countries called failed states, they western world played a role in turning them into what they are. Tsiya: you actually spoke my mind. |
Re: Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by NIGboi(m): 12:15am On Jan 09, 2010 |

N.I.Gboi: Exactly! Who is even drawing up the list? Israel that has been in a state of siege, wars where they attack sovereign nations at will is not listed but Nigeria is listed? US that rigged Bush into office and invaded 2 sovereign nations based on lies is not listed but Cameroun is listed? |
Re: Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by Nobody: 2:03pm On Jan 09, 2010 |
I don't need a list to know it's gradually becoming a failed state. Common sense dictates Nigeria is a time bomb ready to explode. |
