I guess the call for the sack of Dora Akinyuli and others; is because they are Buddhists or ?

If a body named SOUTHERN MUSLIM ELDERS demanded for resignation of Prof. Dora, what would it look like?

if the above statement credited to the sultan is true, then i am TOTALLY disappointed in him.

i looked at the sultan as a moderate, sum1 who thinks before uttering inflamatory statements.

but this has spoilt it all.

he should have kept quiet (since he has kept quiet all through the massacres), now he has soiled himself with this dambazzau dude.

as some1 said, dambazzau is running helter skelter to save his back side, since the woman who brought him out on a limb to protect her husband is becoming politically irrelevant. so he had to go to their supreme leader.

That is why we need a leader that is willing to make head rolls and not care about what other says, as long as he has a clear agenda on how to move Nija forward

Who is that Sultan? What does this people think they are for God sake? If he (Sultan)is unhappy let him come and reinstate him back? No wonder one of the so called sultan whatever was dethroned during Abacha regime. He is not condeming Jos crises that the  gooese head cow minded fulanis that muders scores of innocent people at will? He is not condeming Boko Haram? He is not condeming Turai Yardua who put her husband under her wrapper and hold the whole nation at ransome? So who is he? I think the truth is that let anybody from that part of Nigeria just keep quiet for now as nobody really has interest in whatever they want to say cus all Nigeria has seen their true colour and what they stand for. I think he needs help.

Are some of you genuinely surprised or simply feigning surprise? You think this is something new? Why do you think there's not been anyone hanged for the monthly/weekly/annual sacrifice by the demented slaves of Usuman Dan Fodio? This has been going on since the 40's. It shouldn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out people like the ''educated'' Sultan are pulling the strings.

And our Fraudulent country continues to plunge into the abyss.

the demand as uncalled for.
The Army, he said, is not a religious Army.
"Because he happens to be a Muslim, if he is
a Christian, would they have called for his
sack. Many things happen in this country but
no Muslim leader has called for the sack of
any Christian government official

I wonder when our politicians and so called religious leaders will lend how to address issues more considerable. How can such a respected figure make such a statement? looks like all these so called leaders have lost their sense of belongings. Am just tired of this country. How i wish i have my way,i'll just sell the country and run away with the money.

Re: Sultan Condemns Calls For Sack Of Chief Of Army Staff by NosaHenry(m): 6:12pm On Mar 09, 2010
I wonder if Nigeria can really move forward. Nobody called for the removal of COAS a day before the deployment of troup to Intern'l Airport in Abuja. It is funny how we run to religious for cover each time we breach the law.

The sultan who is a former Army officer whould have known better
Re: Sultan Condemns Calls For Sack Of Chief Of Army Staff by yeswecan(m): 6:21pm On Mar 09, 2010
what a statement coated with the Political anxiety in Nigeria now. Sultan should know better, but again am loving the reality of events in Nigeria lately cus we could be heading towards a paradigm shift
Re: Sultan Condemns Calls For Sack Of Chief Of Army Staff by adisa363: 6:53pm On Mar 09, 2010
this sultan must be foolish, for GODS sake who the hell did he think he is, no wonder the north is the most useless part of the country, useless people keep coming out of that place. he should just keep his dam mouth shut, am also am a muslim, the koran is never against non adherence to laid down rules and regulation, the coas would have ben beheaded if he did it in saudi or any islamic republic. useless turbanned man. he did not even know simple english.
ode buruku.
Re: Sultan Condemns Calls For Sack Of Chief Of Army Staff by Tuyis: 7:12pm On Mar 09, 2010
This is a classic example of how Nigerian leaders use religion and ethnicity to divert attention from real issues.
Someone should ask the Sultan why he thinks the COAS is being asked to resign because of his religion.
I think Nigerians should begin to see through the insincerity of these people.
Re: Sultan Condemns Calls For Sack Of Chief Of Army Staff by babylishus: 7:32pm On Mar 09, 2010
Please, please people, let's not resort to name calling here. The Sultan is not an idiot. (I am a Christian just in case you were wondering, )

However, we can respectfully disagree, and I heartily disagree with his statement.

NO ONE wants Danbazzau out because he is a Muslim. He flagrantly disregarded the Acting President's Authority, even going as far as making a statement that bordered on insulting (only to retract it later). Not only that but his actions caused widespread unease and panic across the country and even confusion int he very same army that he has been charged to bring to order! I hear the even the service chiefs of the army in Abuja were unaware of the deployments. Such a man is very dangerous and not to be trusted in any way. I certainly wouldn't trust him with the lives and safety of people to whom he has 'no loyalty' to- that's like giving him a loaded gun!

As for the Sultan saying that no one has called for Onovo's removal he couldn't be more wrong! What about the removal of Tafa Balogun and Mike Okiro? They were incompetent and removed ( as this chap is proving to be). Onovo is proving that he is not up to the task and we are not safe as Nigerians on the road and in our homes so if that continues I SAY HE SHOULD BE REMOVED! It's not whether you are Christian or Muslim- it's whether or not you're doing your job well (as neither the COAS and IG seem to be doing),

Akanbi_edu:

I believe the sultan reacted to the statement credited to the NORTHERN CHRISTIAN  ELDERS FORUM that called for the sack of the chief of army staff. There is no big deal if people call for the sack of any government official, but it is HIGHLY irresponsible and insensitive for the group to be named under a religion and call for the sack of such official if he/she if from another religion. It puts the ruler at that time under undue pressure because he/she must not seen as taking sides.

For Christ sake, if the northern Christian Elders Forum called for a sack of the COAS they are right and I guess Goodluck Jonathan have seen why,

1. The COAS was once quoted for saying he will only take orders from the president elect. That aside.

2. What will be the reaction of a man who shares the same religious beliefs with the murderers in Jos.

The Army, he said, is not a religious Army. "Because he happens to be a Muslim, if he is a Christian, would they have called for his sack. Many things happen in this country but no Muslim leader has called for the sack of any Christian government official. For instance, there are so many crimes in the
country, do we now say the Inspector General of Police should be sacked?" he queried.

3. Yes o, with the tension in Aso rock and all that, the army is not a religious a Army, I agree with him but what happens to man in charge, if the army is truly not religious as he said, the presidency would not hesitate to give orders for the cooling of the riot as it went.

4. What if other religions where that intolerant as they are what on earth would give Islamists peace in Nigeria.

The bottomline is that Man is against the rulership of the acting C-in-C,

FOOL!!!!

If ur father was killed in Jos, u would have been doing more than name calling. Christian my foot!

They only convince you when they say only Alma gris cause troubles as the Alhajis buy cheap plots of land and houses as Christians desert the area heavily populated by muslims, only u believe them when they say one Nigeria as it is said because oil is not in their region. I know Azikwe is not resting well and up up Ojukwu. Shame on Yorubas and Niger Deltans for selling out and thank God the latter is 'hearing' it now.It remains the former. Now the Plateau people are being bleeped up-Thank God. They collaborated with Tiv and Taraba men to humiliate Igbos. Opari!Na turn by turn Plc for all una!

The only regret is Igbos' businesses and lives are being decimated. We will figure out how to handle those pretty soon. One Nigeria-my assss

@ Bina

i believe u are a moderate moslim, nothing wrong in that, but instead of condeming the atrocities done by the islam people, u rather find faults associted with christianity in place like serbia , ireland etc. Indeed islam is a religion of peace.

The truth, which our so called leaders would not want a lot of us to debate on, is the fact that we are running a monarchy-like govt in Nigeria. I have reason to believe, based on investigations, that something really interesting is about to take place in Nigeria's polity. Mark my word, most of us would not like it!!!

Ask Dimeji Bankole why he shot down the debate about the deployment of troops on the proported Yar'adua's return at a session last week. They all know whats happening but choose to keep the info to themselves. A time will come when all these nonsense will become an anti-climax for these shameless leaders, including the Sultan!!!
