Mr Dis Guy,
For being able to surf the web, I believe you must have gone to a 'school' (which school, I don't know and don't care to know; whether you pass thru the school or it pass thru you I don''t know as well) BUT I strongly believe and HOPE that you TRY hard to kindly apply common sense to your postings/replies PLEASE, No hard feelings just the simple truth!

@Wesan123,
Don't you think you are at fault here? How can you just post your phone number on a web forum and order someone to call you without any indication of what you wanna discuss with the person? Then the next thing you do is respond with insults when the person turns you down? Are you kidding me? I think its your education that's in doubt here not Dis guy's.

ABUJA being the capital City in Nigeria is proud to boast of a company that currently operate hot air balloon flights and also pastes adverts/distribute fliers by interested persons, government/non-governmental organizations. It is spectacular to watch and even more wonderfull and fun filled to get a ride in it. Once you are floating in this huge balloon you feel such peace and get the opportunity to be blown by the wind, it is SAFE and the balloon PILOTS are all highly trained and certified from Spain who are willing to explain in great detail whatever question you ask and also make your flight a stress free and comfortable one.The balloon operations come in two parts. The air pilots and the ground crew who are in charge if tracking/retrieving/transporting the balloon and passengers back to start off locations. It is an experience you would never forget. The flights depend strictly on the velocity (speed of the wind) and direction of the wind that is why the flights are usually done very early in the morning or late in the evening when the wind is calm. The balloon is lifted into the air by the heat that is created in the balloon envelope which is achieved by burning "propane gas". The burners are located well above the head and the only discomfort i can say is the noise which comes out in short flares that keep the balloon afloat but wearing a face cap is all you need to enjoy your flight. The idea behind the hot air balloon is so simple, the heat inside the balloon envelope (which isn't felt by the passengers) is in contrast to the cold atmosphere of the sky and that is how it is able to FLOAT. You can go for close to an hour in this balloon because there are spare cylinders of gas inside the basket you will be riding in and there is a tracking van below the balloon at all times so you are sure of getting back to where you started from. The pilots also have GPS/HIGH VARIETIES OF WALKIE TALKIE to communicate to the ground crew.I have had the opportunity to get a light in this big floating balloon and my advice is carry a sweater and a camera because the wonderful pictures you can take is to be cherished for a lifetime, the route we flew started at APO and stopped at the outskirts if NASARAWA STATE. IT WAS MAGNIFICENT.

how much do the rides cost? i think i know where y'all take of from in apo, how do you get back to apo after the ride is done?
Re: Hot Air Balloon Business In Nigeria by mjabuja: 6:14am On Oct 02, 2010
Like I earlier stated, the operation was in two (2) groups, the air pilots and the GROUND CREW who trail after the balloon as it flies away in a truck that help to pack up the balloon and transport the passengers BACK to town. The take off is not just from APO it can be from any location since the operation is based only on wind directions. As for the cost it is generally based on the cost of the gas as at the time of the preparations for the flight. But I understand that the flights are going to be available for individuals to book on their web soon.

I think ur idear is good.crosss river is a tourist destination, 70% on Nigeria's green vegitation is in cross River, Obudu is alsoe a remote location. those taking abount NEPA and Security do not know Cross River or Obudu, so i tink it is a good idear but u have to deal with safety Ist.

I would suggest doing a hot air ballon service over the Niger delta.
It could be a sort of ariall enviornmental awareness program for journalists and tourists.
Just Imagine captivating titles like "See the devestation" or "A first hand glimpse into the true cost of fossil fuels"

you could fly over the offshore rigs and fly low over the polluted lagoons, allowing tourists to take photos, if this is exectuted properly you could charge exorbitant rates and still get costomers. smiley
