@Eldee the question should be; would Bendtner or RVP pass in that position ? the 1st pass-back too to me seemed inexplicable . . . he had the chance cos ston Villa was rubbish, yes we can celebrate but we shouldnt forget that ITS WHEN U SEEM UP THAT U SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL OF GOING DOWN! Chamakh seemed to have a good game by his own standards, but I bet you it was cos the players OUTDID themselves . . .imagine how Arshavin played ? since the game against Liverpool I cant recollect his having a better game . . . look at Rosicky . . .fantsatic game that flatters one to think he can replicate it week in week out, though he seems to be too much in a hurry to get a shot in. Chamakh seems to perform and is scoring goals, but the league has never been won in November so I am not ready to fool myself, rather I go do siddon look with AW, make hin dey do the thing wey hin like . . . |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by eldee(m): 10:22am On Nov 28, 2010 |
@Dr Kit Thing is, Chamack is scoring and making assists week in, week out . . . there must be sumn right about him, he possibly blends better with the team, like Ade did. Afterall Vela, Walcott, Eduardo and Bendtner all had their shots at the top dog position, Chamo proved himself in record time. And I do remember that when everyone used to complain about Adebayor missing a million chances you came here and defended him with his goalscoring record. . .I can't remember a player that had more crappy appearances and still scored on a regular than Ade. Should Chamack have tried a shot instead?? Yep, but should we bench him because his contribution to our gameplay is as good as any midfielder's, I don't think so. |

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by debosky(m): 4:33pm On Nov 28, 2010 |
I agree Chamakh should've shot the first time he got the ball, but the second pass was a clearly better decision to make instead of trying to score from that narrow angle. Yes he needs to be more selfish in front of goal, but all players have areas where they can improve. Give him the credit he deserves. . . .for now at least. Chelski drop points so we took some advantage of Chelski's slip up today. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by HNIC(m): 5:12pm On Nov 28, 2010 |
I can't believe people are still on this Chamakh issue Do you really think that his goal yesterday was a 'tap in'? I laugh. The Goalie rushed out and blocked the angle. He 'toepoked'(shebi na so dem dey call am) it in and got to the ball b4 the defender and the Goalie. First, dude was only strong in the air, next he only does tap-ins,soon when he scores from 20 yards, we'll hear he does it once in 50 years. Really, I don't care how he scores his goals. If he likes let him score with his shoulders! 10 goals before December in a DEBUT season is remarkable. Please,he's not Messi, neither is he Ronaldo . |

Aight, we've got Leeds at home for the FA Cup. Can we wear yellow for the match and pretend we were away?. . . .lol |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by folahann(m): 8:52pm On Nov 28, 2010 |
slimshay:Lol. That's actually true, Arsenal have scooped more point away from home this season. I really think we should just focus on winning Carling now, at least people like Dayokanu will reduce the use of the letters T-R-O-P-H-Y-L-E-S |

All quiet in the land today. . . .so lemme cause some mischief. Wenger's comments on why he omitted Bendtner from the Tottenham clash: “I said that I did not put him in the squad [for Tottenham] as my plan was to work on his fitness [so he would] be ready to play on Tuesday [against Braga],” said Wenger. “I have to rotate a little bit the strikers and players. “Why put him on the bench? Let him practice and keep him fit for Tuesday. "If a player is out for four months they think they can come into training and go on the pitch and perform, [but] it does not work like that. “[b]Chamakh was dead at half time [/b]against Tottenham as he played on a very heavy pitch in Ireland [during the international break] so I thought I would rest him on Tuesday and play Bendtner. I must say that Chamakh is doing very well for me, so it is perfect for competition." http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-why-i-left-bendtner-out-of-derby?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+arsenal-news+%28News+Feed%29 Conclusion? A dead Chamakh is better than a fit Bendtner. |

debosky: Na u wan cause mischief o so Il further add flames to the fire. Coming from a manager who said Almunia is world class and thus tormented us week in week out playing Al in goal, well, whatever conclusions you make, ure on your own! |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by proudly9ja(m): 6:24pm On Nov 29, 2010 |
And to further add to it: Here is Arsene Wenger 3 weeks ago talking about Aaron Ramsey “At the moment we are not talking about [a loan] at all,” said Wenger. “What is important is that he comes back into the group now and that he plays for a while with us. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-ramsey-won-t-go-on-loan" Two weeks after the above statement, Ramsey goes on loan. My conclusion, wait at least two weeks after a Wenger statement before coming to your own conclusion |

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by duduspace(m): 3:03am On Nov 30, 2010 |
Current performance of the week for Arsenal is Pep Guardiola and the Barca team for making the self titled "Special One" look more like a "Special Mug" and shutting that cocky b*stard up for a while. I hope one day that these our boys will play like those Barca boys, Nasiru, I know say one day you go make us proud. |

Chamakh is not findiing the premier league easy so far. Quote- Every ball that's contested here I get ploughed into - and the referee doesn't blow for it. After a Premier League match, I walk off with my body aching, with scratch marks, stiff muscles. Three days later, we go again. The guy has been thrown into the league too quickly and still coping and giving his best |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by yousouph(m): 11:30am On Nov 30, 2010 |
In other news it's interesting to note the brother of Carlos Vela speak for his stated in the Guardian the following: He just wants the chance to show what he can do for Arsenal and maybe if that doesn't happen, he will think about his future. Important clubs are interested in his services. Now he has a European passport, it could open the market for him. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by debosky(m): 11:40am On Nov 30, 2010 |
Now I don't feel too bad about being mauled 4-1 by Barcelona. . . . at least we managed to score one. They turned Madrid to a blubbering mess yesterday with out of this world footie. Wenger is patently INSANE if he thinks players like Denilson and Song can ever achieve such levels of football. . . .it's like expecting monkeys to solve advanced calculus. Let's admit the truth, we can pass a bit, but we are NOWHERE even remotely close to Barcelona, and with the duds in the side? We won't get there any time soon. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by slimshay(m): 12:15pm On Nov 30, 2010 |
Debosky eh, not evrybody in that Barca team is an excellent passer of the ball oh, Abidal lost a lot of balls yesterday. I hear dK and Gomez found them though. Pedro also lost some I think. on the other hand. . .Barcaloaner meeeehn. Awon yun gba booolu!!! |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by debosky(m): 12:19pm On Nov 30, 2010 |
Ol boy leave story. . . .if all of them are not ballers, the ones who aren't are still better than 50% of the Arsenal team. Anyways, back to Arsenal. . . .we should see Robin 'elese osi gbigbona' Van Persie and Theo 'ijayalomo' Walcott on display today. Gooners tenhutt!!! |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by slimshay(m): 12:50pm On Nov 30, 2010 |

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by duduspace(m): 2:26pm On Nov 30, 2010 |
@Debosky The game Barca played yesterday was from another planet, I was just bouncing up and down like a yo-yo. It will be extremely difficult for any team to get close but don't write off our boyz just yet, if they get anywhere near 90% of the level Barca was at yesterday, I will be very happy. It was a victory for everyone who likes to see the beautiful game being played beautifully and not a win at all costs approach which usually makes the game very boring as espoused by "The Special Mug". The important thing is the blueprint they took to get there, 1. Get the best technically gifted players from home and abroad together (they had an advantage here cos their catchment area isn't limited in Spain and not many upcoming spanish players will spurn the opportunity to play for Barca) 2. Get them playing a certain style of football from an early age so its virtually bred into them (we are well along this path now) and give promising youngsters opportunities to play in the first team early. 3. Enhance the team with some world class buys not requiring Galactico proportions expenditure (we aint there yet but signings like Chamakh and Vermaelen are encouraging). Keep the faith guys, I don't think the likes of Iniesta and Xavi won anything until they were in their mid 20s. I'm sure they were also muscled around at various places as we sometimes are but Barca stuck to their strategy and its winning at present and sustainable too. |
