Heard this morning on radio that the save nigeria group spearheaded by pastor tunde bakare has endorsed former military president, Muhammadu Buhari, what's your take on this?
Re: Save Nigeria Group Endorses Buhari. by Jakumo(m): 11:24am On Oct 11, 2010
This canned answer will be pasted in response to ALL instances of that evil baboon's name being mentioned _ Ayatollah Mullah Buhari.

As a Nigerian military tyrant during the early 1980s,  Ayatollah Mullah Buhari rode roughshod over human rights, jailing, torturing and murdering real and imaginary dissidents with equal relish, before being unceremoniously booted into the dustbin of history by a succeeding military regime that proved no better.

Calling in old political favors a decade after being removed as Nigerian dictator, Mullah Buhari landed a gig as head of the Nigerian Petroleum Trust Fund, an organisation created explicitly as a fast flowing conduit for embezzled state funds, to which Ayatollah Buhari helped himself generously, later deploying that loot to bankroll a string of FAILED bids to run for election as Nigeria's civilian head of state.

A self-avowed Islamic fundamentalist of the most extreme and depraved variety, Ayatollah Mullah Buhari is on record as having REPEATEDLY bellowed his rabid support for the forcible imposition of Islamic Sharia amputation law on Nigeria in its entirety, presumably after an envisioned Jihad holy war to exterminate all Christians and animists from that conquered nation of 120 million souls.   The destabilizing repercussions to the entire subregion, that could result if a sadistic and pathological Islamist demagogue like Buhari were EVER allowed to grab power in Nigeria, would be immense, to put it very mildly.

The endorsement being voiced by a CHRISTIAN miracle pastor, of all people, for yet another FAILED presidential toilet run by Mullah Buhari, is hardly a surprising development in the realm of African "politics", where the rush for possible future access to free embezzled cash makes for mighty strange bedfellows indeed.

@ Jakumo,
My ribs cease not to crack with uncontrolled laughter.
Everyone seeks relevance in our dear country.
Everyone seeks to be the king maker.
Either at tax payers expense or at the expense of tithes and offerings.
The end times are here.
Shall we pray!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am elated @Poster. We are finally getting somewhere with this CHANGE deal! Hate him all you will, Buhari remains the best candidate for change this election. A vote for him is a vote against PDP and their established roots, and hopefully a meaningful opportunity for the people to take power back from those their employees .

@Kobojunkie,

Though I recognise Buhari's uprightness and purity, for want of a word, and I do partially support him. He really does not represent the change Nigeria really needs. There is too much ill history with that man. We must rid ourselves of the past

lol . . .  I don't really buy the uprightness and purity angle on this man so much. Yes, he served for 20 months and we experienced almost immediate change for better from the first week, but this is Nigeria, that is all I will say on that. My support for him comes mostly from the fact that he is running under the flag of a minority party and hence a big chance for us to get away from overwhelming influence of parties like PDP and AC -- parties that have managed to dominate the Nigerian political arena for so long. Yes, the man has experience, and probably the best record in the country's history when it comes to running the country and getting things done, but I am not banking on that this time around.

I believe he is the best hand we have to play this time around if we really want change/to get away from the status quo ( control by the current group of criminals in charge), and are ready to take back power which we have been denied since the foundation of this democracy.

Finally someone decides to kill SNG by endorsing a candidate. I thought they were simply for ONE MAN ONE VOTE and not partisan?
Re: Save Nigeria Group Endorses Buhari. by monkeyleg: 12:47pm On Oct 11, 2010
@Kobojunkie,

True, Buhari represents some sort of change, But dont forget that he was able to make great stride the last time because of millitary rule. Things are different now, I doubt he would be able to do it again, and besides there are other good candidates in other small parties as well, who I think would offer a better experience than Buhari.

I know you have not been over impressed with Pat Utomi, but the mans credentials speaks for him. Dont forget the power of the address book (who can you get to come to the party). Pat has immense connections that I know will benefit Nigeria. He has the reputation to attract the best hands to move Nigeria in gaint strides, if only we give him a chance , I am convinced he can get the best people to do the critical jobs.

Like I said, I am not counting on a repeat performance from him this time around. Matter of fact, I expect him to meet with serious opposition and resistance for at least the first 3 years from most all sides. Because I bet you the PDP and AC will try all they can to fight their way back into power during that period, and the man will likely cave after a couple of years or fight back.

He has no credential in my opinion. He does not have experience and honestly, I am not big on speeches , no matter how detailed. He has had over 4 years to prove to the Nigerian people that he is not only ready to lead but has what it takes to be a leader and he squandered that time from the much I have seen of his record since the last election. I don't even consider him here.

Hate him all you will, Buhari's remains

Fortunately for Nigeria, former mass murderer Ayatollah Buhari is reviled and despised by 99% of the voting electorate, including those from his own goat herding village, so he will certainly LOSE resoundingly in every single endeavor to which he applies his stolen money and deranged mind.

Be that as it may, Ayatollah Buhari should be encouraged to squander ALL the state-owned cash he looted as a military tyrant, and later as Head Embezzler of a conveniently created petroleum income piggy bank, to finance his record string of hilarious FAILED presidential election bids.

Ultimately, Ayatollah Mullah Buhari will die alone, broke and in state of acute clinical insanity brought on by a combination of advanced syphilis, and his mounting frustration over a wasted life scrambling after futile and pointless delusions of grandeur.

Northerners actually do like Buhari as he is seen as one of the better guys, you might despise him but he is the best of a bad bunch (apart from maybe Ribadu).

Who appointed Save Nigeria Group as our surrogates

Its a pity the Save Nigeria Group is fast losing focus undecided

When a supposedly referee meant to check and critique the activities of the players stars to sing praise of a particular player, and offers his whistle to the player, then every other player would be left with no option but to invite their branded and preferred referees.

Save Nigeria Group would do better to enlighten Nigerians on the need to vote and ensure their votes count, and other relevant activities to empower Nigerian voters, rather than nominating aspirants or candidates for the presidency angry
Re: Save Nigeria Group Endorses Buhari. by Gbawe: 1:18pm On Oct 11, 2010
I respect Bakare as he stood up for what was right recently while cowards hid away but I am , first and foremost, a supporter of Ribadu. While I agree that Buhari may be more credible overall I think Ribadu is not far behind. I think Buhari is a harder sell accross Nigeria than Ribadu. Buhari may not signify enough of a departure from the past to raise the revolutionary zeal in Nigerians that will get them to go out, vote and protect their vote. We must remember that Buhari has tried twice to become President recently. Nigerians need something/someone new they can believe in with total passion . Nothing less will be require to defeat the PDP . I think Ribadu can deliver a sense of hope better than Buhari and I think this is why the likes of Akeredolu (former NBA boss) and many respected individuals endorse Ribadu with gushing enthusiasm . That is my opinion and I expect that others may think otherwise.
Re: Save Nigeria Group Endorses Buhari. by Nobody: 2:43pm On Oct 11, 2010
@gbawe- you are quite right to an extent, if i were to endorse a candidate from these northern guys that will be at least sensible in some very sensitive matters when they assume power, then i'd gun for Ribadu, Buhari can be a very strong hardliner when it comes to sensitive issues like religion, and tribalism, its a pity for SNG to toe the path of what all nigerians always anticipate with 'activism' . See oshiomole for instance.

2011: Buhari, most credible presidential aspirant - Bakare

Written by Adewale Ajayi Monday, 11 October 2010

The founder of Latter Rain Bible Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has said that of all the presidential aspirants for the 2011 presidential race, General Muhammadu Buhari is the most credible for the position, just as he urged Nigerians to give him their support.

Speaking in Lagos, Pastor Bakare said there was a survey carried out on all the aspirants and that General Buhari was the most preferred for the position .

[s]He said the opinion expressed was his personal opinion, and not that of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG).[/s]

He, however, urged all other parties in the race to agree on a consensus candidate like Buhari, saying that if they failed to do that, they would only give the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) an effortless victory .

He said that if the other parties wanted to wrestle power from the PDP, it was better they looked for the best of the North and the best of the South. He added that the clamour for generation shift was not the issue because some of the young ones were more corrupt than the old ones.

He maintained that the last 11years that the PDP had been ruling the country had been of a colossal waste and the party had failed to learn a lesson. “The PDP will not learn a lesson until it loses election,” he declared.

I will bet with my life that Buhari will never win an election in Nigeria. Free and Fair or not!!!!!

Apart from the tough talk about jailing his political enemies, what about his philosophy on everything else?

this man is simply not what 2010 Nigeria needs, except some folks are dreaming to live in African version of Iran or Afghanistan.

Isn't it poignant that at this stage in our independent life, the best candidate to our presidential seat is an old religious & ethnic bigot, an ex-military dictator who believes the only way to make us toe the line is by treating us like sub-humans. A man who does not believe in democratic govt. A man who thinks he's too big and mighty to account to us "bloody civilians", how he ruled us for 20months at the Oputa panel.

Oh what a hopeless nation!!!

I endorse Buhari too and I know alot people around me who do.I urge you to support who ever you like and not insult others.one mans food is another man's poison. For those trying to predict his failure at the polls, grow up it is not by rigging any more and typical PDP mind set.
Calling him a religious biggot is all cheap propaganda aimed at turning people against him,we can see now.He has proven that allegations wrong, when he had power and the government in his hands. He did what he felt was fro the nations intrest. As it stands now the old hands you are talking of is most definately the puppet masters sending us sick and dead people to lead us.Also they have now sent us another MEND spokes man.
As some NL stated, i believe Buhari can flush the system for a fresh start for more visionary leaders. Not even GEJ can give us the fresh breath because they (TY danjuma,mantu,Obj,Ex-MEND,MEND etc horrible breath share same bed with GEJ).
We need a man who owes this crook elites no shit and has the guts to hit em hard.Zero tolerance for corruption and control. If there clinch can be removed, new leaders will emerge and improve on his gains.Even in the North the so called elites fear him and know his zero tolerance for his stance against there views. That is why you never see them behind Buhari but behind the likes of IBB,Chiroma,Atiku and co. I am convinced that Buhari is a nationalist and would respect the laws of the land.
When peoplel say he is a tribalist and religious fanatic, yet still support democracy then you should know better. We have a system different from the military that takes stages and people to comply with before any national view can be implemented. We have Houses of assembly state and federal,Governors,Judiciary, citizens, activist, religous bodies(CAN & NSCIA),vice president, federal character commission,EFCC etc. With this i believe no single leader can bastardise the nation with ignorance and support of a fair number of this groups. If it works na them and if it fails na them.

Stop your hatemongering. Anytime Buhari's name is mentioned you are always at daggers-drawn, ready to attack and assasinate his character. You accused him of being a mass-murderer?  Did he kill any of your relatives? I knew his administration sanctioned the killing of three convicted Cocaine pushers. Is your relative part of the triumvirate?
Now some home truth - You cannot play God. It is only God that gives power. If God has decreed that Buhari will win, you can't change that, for it is divine. If mortals like you have the power to give rain, you will be selective as to those who will receive the blessing. God is the lord of dominion, He gives power and taketh power from whomsoever He wishes. In His hand is all goodness.  Quit being a hater. It does not pay.

Kobojunkie, pls tell me how did i allow an ignoramus like Buhari represent me? Did i have any say in the (palace) coup that brought him into power? Do you know how many southerners that opposed his rule were sent into exile by him?

Which backbone are u reffering to?

HARDLINER, MY FOOT!!! U ought to research this guy further before lionising him. His purportedly no-nonsence govt was quite selective. whilst shagari the leader of the govt. he toppled was under house-arrest, the ilk of Ekweme was languishing in kirikiri. Many southern politicians were given unrealistic long prison sentences whilst their northern counterparts were let off the hook or placed under some form of house arrest. Many of these southern politicians later died in castration and some had to go into exile.

Whilst fela (R.I.P) was being harrased & jailed by buhari for a lousy amount of foreign exchange, a whole emir was allowed to go about with luggages full of foreign exchange, untouched. This same atiku was the custom boss, then.

Moreover, everyone knows at the time that, Tunde Idiagbon was the real brain behind his govt.

Anyway, enough of this aggressive rhetorics ok? If u want Buhari to run ur people like cattles on his g/grand father's land, no problem. However we in the s/west do not want him, period. Abi na bi force?

So, after 12 years, PDP is still the better option for you, and a man who went from having nothing as a PHD holder to being worth over 200 million(minus his wife's share) after serving a short term as deputy governor, and then governor for a minute with no measurable achievement during that period is the better candidate? hhmmm . . . interesting . Tell why any sensible person will not support Buhari for goodness sake see his records :

* He was a governor of Old Borno state
* He was Minister of petroleum Under general Obasanjo
*He was Major general
* He was Head of state
* He was PTF chairman

YET

*He doesn't have a house in Abuja infact he has only two houses one inherited from his father which locatedin Daura LGA and the other one is his present house in Kaduna which is a five bedroom flat in malali GRA gotten through owner occupier

* He doesn't have any flashy Car

* Nobody know his children yet he has plenty because they are all like you and i

* Nobody knows his wives despite being former president in fact in his regime there was nothing like office of the first lady

*When he was PTF chairman The late Abacha government was busy stealing and left all the work to PTF tell me which federal institution was not touched by PTF, tell me Which federal hospital was not touched by PTF, Constructed over 10,000 KM of road yet all PTF got was 300 Billion, what Aneni got for Nigerian roads only in the four years he spend as minister of works.

My people age is nothing but a number, believe me all we need is the person that will bring the positive change either young or old.
