>>Friday sermon stirs millions in Makkah
>>By SIRAJ WAHAB | ARAB NEWS
>>Published: Nov 13, 2010 00:17 Updated: Nov 13, 2010 00:17
>>MAKKAH: About two million pilgrims listened with rapt attention to Imam Abdul
>>Rahman Al-Sudais’ soul-stirring 40-minute sermon on Friday from the Grand Mosque
>>in Makkah. The sermon was carried live on state television and many Arab,
>>African and Asian television stations. On many occasions during the sermon the
>>congregation was reduced to tears as the imam spoke about the tough times that
>>Islam faces in these critical times.
>>
>>Calling for the liberation of Palestine, Al-Sudais said now is the time for
>>Palestinian factions to bury their differences.
>>
>>“These differences have only added to the miseries of our brothers and sisters
>>in Palestine. This inhuman blockade has made life hellish for them. Now is the
>>time for Muslim countries to unify their ranks and liberate Palestinians from
>>the shackles of this inhuman bondage,” he said. “All differences among regional
>>countries should be and can be resolved in the true spirit of Islam. The best
>>example of our unity is this congregation in which every Muslim from every
>>corner is united through the love of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
>>and the Holy Qur’an.”
>>
>>Al-Sudais described Palestine as the single biggest problem confronting the
>>nation of Islam.
>>
>>“Every day brings a new form of misery for them,” he said, breaking down in
>>tears. “O Allah, unite all Muslim nations.”
>>
>>The congregation responded with a vociferous “Aameen.”
>>The imam repeatedly stressed the value of unity. “Our divisions have given our
>>adversaries the ruse to exploit us. We are fragmented despite being in such a
>>large number. Unity is the key to our well-being. The message of Haj is unity.
>>Let us pray for the unification of Muslims throughout the planet.”
>>
>>The imam also stressed the need for hope and optimism with trust in Allah at all
>>times of adversity. He quoted the Holy Qur’an: “And never give up hope in God’s
>>soothing mercy: Truly no one despairs of God’s soothing mercy except those who
>>have no faith.”
>>
>>Al-Sudais congratulated the pilgrims for undertaking the most important journey
>>of their lives. “This was your lifelong dream. You always wanted to be here. You
>>always wanted to carry out this important task of Haj. Well, here you are in the
>>holy land. You are lucky. It is all due to the blessings of Allah the Almighty.
>>I congratulate you. From here you should take the most important message of
>>Islam and that is tawheed (the oneness of Allah).”
>>
>>Referring to Iraq, he said the cycle of unending wars has destroyed that nation.
>>“Again, it is the lack of unity and petty issues that have been responsible for
>>the tragedy in Iraq,” he said.
>>
>>Al-Sudais thanked the Saudi leadership, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
>>King Abdullah, for landmark projects to provide ease and comfort to the pilgrims
>>during the various rituals of Haj.
>>
>>“The train services for pilgrims that go into operation this year are a
>>remarkable achievement. May Allah protect this leadership, and may He grant them
>>long life,” he said.
>>
>>The Makkah Metro is ready to service pilgrims during this Haj. Saudi Arabia has
>>poured billions of riyals into various infrastructure projects in Makkah, Mina
>>and Arafat. The cost of such projects has never been passed onto the pilgrims.
>>
>>Al-Sudais also paid rich tribute to all those Saudis who have dedicated
>>themselves into the service of pilgrims. “You deserve congratulations for
>>helping the guests of God. Allah has bestowed this rare honor on you to help the
>>pilgrims, and you have not let the pilgrims down. May Allah keep you safe.”
>>
>>“I've never experienced such calmness,” retired Nigerian military officer Salisu
>>Ali said of Al-Sudais’ sermon. “I don’t speak Arabic nor do I understand it, but
>>the verses that he was quoting from the Qur’an are all too familiar to us. And I
>>could understand in what context he was quoting them. I couldn’t control my
>>tears because everyone was crying. The sheikh moved us all.”
>>
>>An aged Pakistani woman, Begum Jahanara Sarwat, said she never felt such peace.
>
>>“We keep hearing all these bad stories and depressing events," she said.
>>"However, today I did not feel weak at all. Why should I? We are this many
>>people,” she added as she gestured to the throng of faithful. “Is it possible
>>for our enemies to destroy us? These are momentary setbacks, my son. Don’t lose
>>hope. Allah se acche ki ummeed rakho (Expect good from Allah)."
>>
>>Every corner of the Grand Mosque was filled by pilgrims as early as 10 a.m. even
>>though the time for Friday prayer was scheduled for 12:05 p.m. The relatively
>>hot weather did not deter the pilgrims from performing the prayer on roads and
>>in alleyways surrounding the mosque.
>>
>>The congregation thinned an hour after the prayer, and outside the mosque
>>pigeons fluttered past the minarets and swooped down on any vacant space
>>available in the mosque’s massive courtyard.
>>
>>Spirituality combined with anxiety was evident on many pilgrims’ faces. With
>>just 24 hours remaining before pilgrims begin the trek to the valley of Mina in
>>the first leg of the five-day journey, the pilgrims’ minds are clearly focused
>>on the rituals that they will perform in fulfillment of their obligations.
>>
>>“We are a little anxious. Being in Makkah is an overwhelming experience," said
>>Syed Abbas, an elderly Indian man making his first pilgrimage.
>>
>> "There are so many people here. We come from a small town. Even performing
>>circumambulation or tawaf is a big task." © 2010 Arab News

AMIN thumma AMIN. If all the religious factions, islamic countries re-unite, we can rule the world for centuries ma sha Allah. The problems the islamic community is facing is a function of our disunity. Most of our leaders are flagrantly disobeying the Creator, just like the Yoruba adage says "Aikoworin omo ejo, ni n diya je ejo" i.e the disunity amongst the snake species make them suffer. If mamba leads the front, cobra follows suit, together with anaconda, no one would like to dare them. In other words, if Syria leads the front, Turkey follows suit, and Iran coming behind them, no one would like to look into the muslim faces.
Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by Nobody: 6:44pm On Nov 23, 2010
i tell you nobody or group can face islamic army if we are united, even if all muslim armies come together, will nigeria muslims army come together atall?if at all the northerners agreed to come together, would the yorubas ever wanna fight for fisebillilah?i doubt it,but with Allah's mercy and help,i pray the yorubas would unite too, amin.

sunhanAllah, sister don't be misguided by those shia plsssssssssss, we can defeat the oppression ourselves by uniting, salaudeen (R.T.A) did not wait for any oncoming imam or so, he sway through the enemies and captured jerusalem from the hand of the roman, he established sharia in the peninsula. mind you this was centuries of years after the demise of the Guided caliphs, Ahlus sunnah do not hold on to any imam contrary to shia, who said 11 of their imam have come and pass, all of them were associated with one kind of divinity or the other, so girl becareful and do not let ur faith be tainted

Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by Lagosboy: 4:39pm On Nov 26, 2010
Imam Mahdi yes!!

But according to the sunni school of aqeedah, there is nothing like the 12th imam.

The 12th imam doctrine stems from the twlevers branch of shias and that is a discussion for another day.

@uplawal if you are sunni which i presume you are then your statement should have been imam Mahdi and not the 12th imam. Howver we do not ait for him before we rise up to the challenges of our time. May Allah unify our ranks.

If again you haven't seen the modicum, then let me make it clear to you;
Ahlu sunnah do not hold or believe in super human 12 imam, imam mahdi is the man we know to come, all the previous 11 imam were said to possessed some supercilial power , tantamount to tariqa sect the likes of SHEIKH TIJANI, IBRAHIM, ahmad ghulam, muhammadu badawi.

By Allah i fear for where you may acquire knowledge because there are many bidia sect disguised as sunnah, just becareful and always ask question and source, right now you have fallen into their trap of believing in shia 12 imam, subhanAllah, Allah guides who He want and sends astray who he wants. May Almighty Allah have favour on us amin,
Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by Nobody: 7:13pm On Nov 26, 2010
its Imam Mahdi am refering too,but the shia calls him IMAM MADHI d TWELTH IMAM based on the generation of the prophet, because even in the Hadith,it says,a man from his projeny, and they count from the prophets progeny down to him,he will be the one to complete the eleven to make twelve, like they say  great grandsons were imam too,so mahdi is the twelth one.

And besides am not following any hadith&sunnah but five pillars of Islam the Religion of Abraham, which Prophet Muhammed too followed,Quran is my only source of guidance.e.g 6:19,and not hadith cos its gonna make muslims unknowingly set up prophet Muhammad has partner with God against his wishes(prophet muhammad)

Allah says,we should obey the messenger-meaning prophet with the message when conveying it to us,and not Muhammad's personality, because he's human like us,and can be prone to mistakes,e.g Him and the blindman, and hes not taking his adopted son's wife, until Allah commanded him to,because Allah, wants to make a law thru that, and to set him as example so people can do that too when the need arise, and the only way we can love the prophet is by Obeying the Quran(message)because he obeyed it too,pls am free from IBN and ABU says,so and so says, such and such and such and such and such, that the messenger said or Aishat said.

The fact isthat majority of believers are going hellfire based on this verse,12:101-106,they think Allah reveal some things to THE PROPHET which is in the hadith,Any unseen reveal is only in the Quran and not Hadith,e.g,stories of yusuf,Allah said this is one of the unseen, and not some hadith narrations

subhanAllah, you do not know that a sahih hadith is authomatically geniune ? sahih bukhari and muslim are hadith free weak ones or fake. Every muslim in the world agree with this including renowned islamic scholars.

For me i think it is nairaland that corrupted you sorry to say, you aren;t the sister i once knew, we had a guy from the remnant of the Quraniyun sect, their purpose is to prohibit the usage of hadith saying all hadith are fake tgerefore we should disregard them, his facts one way or the other assimilated into you, now the shia palava concerning 12 mahdi,
Since you believe the Quran should be the only source for guidance, i want you to show me where imam mahdi was mentioned ?
2 How to do ablution from hand to feet
3 daily prayer
4 How to give zakat
5how to bath janaba
i can go on and on

Salaam,
I'm glad someone questioned this 12th Imam assertion.  I was reading the thread and felt totally behind in my Islamic education.  It scared me for a minute because I never heard it amongst Sunnis that we're waiting for a 12th Imam, even though I know some non-Sunnis subscribe to that.
Whew! Relief.

Am so scared of what am hearing and reading in this group, with the absence of our great contributor some people are here confusing once true muslim.

@isale gangan- There is nothing like imam mahdi the 12th imam, almost every bidia sect claim to have imam mahdi amongst them that will come or had already come and gone, the ahmadiyya believe imam mahdi had come, his name was muhammad ibn Ghulam ibn Hassan ibn Ali, they say the progeny is trace to them, He had come and gone, the badawiya as well they believe muhammadun badawi was the revered saviour mahdi, more than 30 sects believe that imam mahdi of their own is coming to defeat the other sect, what difference does it make from the shia mahdi ? None.
According to the prophecy of their said previous 11 imam, they said the 12 imam mahdi will strike down the ahlus sunnah (sunni), wage war in saudi arabia and hand it to a shia, bla bla bla, typical of what other sects are saying, that they will reign.

Assalam alaykum! I wish address muslim brothers and sisters in this forum. May Allah save us from discrimination, hatred, differences, and ideological segregation. So far we still pronounce Tashahud, we are muslims and that should be a unifying factor regardless of d sect you belong. Let us not exhibit d habit of saying heinous things about other sect or throwing words dt we know abuse their ideologies. A sunni should leave the issue of someone casting aspersions at Aisha or AbuBakr neither should a shia reiterate this issue. The issue of Imam Mahdi should be left to his creator and the issue of the 4 Imams should be left alone. If anyone believes in Quran only, why can't you leave him instead of creating issues and enmity amidst ourselves here. Instead of us to keep up our calling people to Islam, we keep on throwing ideological punches. Allah is our creator. He knows the truth and knows d falsehood. Let Him decide the matter. Abuzola i love u, Uplawal i love u, Mukinat, Sweetnect etc. May Allah be with us.
Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by Abuzola1(m): 8:55pm On Nov 27, 2010
We aren't forcing anything down the throat of anyone, okay ?
The Prophet taught us that when we see something wrong we either correct it or show disapproval. We can only say it and not force anyone, all am doing is sheding light on matter which is elusive.

I do not know which sect u belong to, but i think it is an obligation on you and every other muslim in here to refute or make other muslim clear any ambiguity facing them, now u doing nothing, making some muslim deluded and confused, i swear by Allah, Allah is going to ask you this, Am talking on the perspective of ahlus sunnah i.e those who follow Quran and hadith,
Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by AbuHanifa: 10:14pm On Nov 27, 2010
Well u don't eed to know the sect that I belong. You may see me as someone who is attacking u but am not. One of the best threads and messages I love to read on this site is yours and i will continue to do that In sha Allah. I always feel dejected and unhappy when i see muslims in this mood. All am saying is peace peace peace for Allah's sake. You have said yours, agreed! The real message has been communicated to everybody. Let anyone who cares to hold firm to the message do that. We all heard it, saw it and read it. Yours is to tell, explain which you have done and to understand and to agree belongs to Allah. U are a good brother to me. I hope my message is clear! Allah will ask and judge me base on my intention of saying this. Peace be unto u.

Yep, is clear, thanks for that, but i believe you don't expect me to be silent when the person send me a reply or asked something, this is a discussion board and thats why it is a forum, i believe. Am neither here to attack anybody but instead to make things plain according to my knowledge, Allah knows best

Mu'adh ibn Jabal (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) said,
"The Devil is like a wolf among humans as a wolf is among sheep; it snatches the stray sheep.
So beware of the paths which branch off and adhere to the Jama'ah, the masses and the masjid."
(Collected by Imam Ahmad)

May Allah guide all of us in the right path.
Ameen.

You can imagine ! This is more like imitating christianity, there is nowhere in the bible where December 25th was mention, go to church on sunday and even the word christianity is absent in the bible, they do not have hadith so they just innovated. And for the Quraniyun we see the same thing, they reject hadith and yet they pray salat with raka'a and so many religious deity

@isale gangan- There is nothing like imam mahdi the 12th imam. . .

No worries about me.   smiley  I'm determined and only do things that I understand fully.

While we're talking about this.  I have a question.  In the area where I live, there are 2 mosques somewhat far away from me, but the closest community mosque is a Shia Islamic Center, that I've never had a reason to attend.  A North African muslim I met was telling me to go there for Eid prayers, or daily prayers when I want.  He said it didn't matter and there was nothing wrong with doing salah there.  So, if you really wanted to do Jummah and couldn't go far, and the other options were praying in your house or going to a Shia Masjid down the road, what would be your choice?
Re: As-sudais Friday Sermon Stirs Millions by Abuzola1(m): 3:30pm On Nov 29, 2010
As for women, praying in the house is more rewarding than to go to mosque except Eid or jumah, there is unanimous view by the ahlus sunnah scholars that even the jumah should be prayed at home because of the hadith of Aisha where she said had the prophet seen what women have introduced he would have stop them from going. Though going to jumah is not bad either,

as for praying in the nearest mosque and which happens to be shia, Do they go against the sunnah of the Prophet in salat ? The Quran clear Aisha of the slander and one group of people say it is a lie, belying the Quran the word of Allah, anybody who says Allah is a liar, is he a muslim ? Do you wish to pray behind such a person ? Do you think Allah will accept his supplication ? I want you to answer the question yourself and keep it to yourself.

In a sahih hadith, the Prophet said,'whoever set his foot for the mosque , each step he takes he will be writen reward for him/her.

I know you want plenty reward, so the choice is yours
