Don't worry folks, this isn't a post on religion but a post that I think is necessary, in light of recent "discussions" I have had with a few fellow forumites.

So what is S.I.N.? Well, and I speak in general here, whenever some people can't win a debate, rather than acknowledge defeat and/or add to the debate (after all, we don't have to agree to, or believe in anything I say. we can agree to disagree), they resort to engaging in S.I.N.:

S: Shift the subject: They pretend not to have read what you wrote or heard what you say, and move to the next thing
I: Ignore the facts: Even when they have the facts in front of them, they choose to ignore the parts that would counter their argument
N: When all else fails, they resort to Name calling. This happens when they have no ammo left and at this point, frustration sets in.

This doesn't only apply to this forum but life in general. So from now on, whenever you are debating an issue with someone, be conscious of the S.I.N. syndrome and note how many of the above the people you are debating with, are found guilty of.
