It beat me how someone will fall for such crap without seeing your total balance? Except of course in d instances where someone thinks he had gotten a very good deal and is eager to conclude d deal, Na Naija we dey. We need to be sharp at all times.
Don't pray for it to happen to you before you believe and don't ever think you're smarter or wiser than those victims. I guess you're also not a business man or the type that mostly deal with banks. 90% of my business transactions are bank/wire transfers and deposit, we get those alert but the best is on-line account since you're able to view transactions or better still just call the bank. Might be harder in naija but here, i just call my bank and they'll tell me all I need to know.

Why so much fuss about the scam alert not having your current balance. The truth is a scammer that wants to do a thorough job will get your current account balance if he really wants to get it,all they need is your account number and a willing staff of that bank;trust me willing fraudulent bank staff are a dime a dozen in present day Nigerian bank,so the best bet is you confirming your account balance from your account officer or via the ATM

@ all, Note even the scammers can read all these and strategize,

@ deeflamez , are u saying that these guys cant get ur balance from ur bank? and get smthn like this sent to you via sms?

Credit Alert
AcctNo: 12357532356xxx
Amnt: 50,000.00
Details/Depositor: 12134/CDP by Mark Smith
Balance: 75,876.21

My advice is, oh sorry, can u wait till Monday or a working day so I can confirm from my bank? PERIOD!

when u car sellers are too desperate, its easy u fall for such triks, imagine someone wey don stop all sms alerts on his bank transactions, person go come tell am one kini kon kini kon,, Usai!

the bank workers could be funny too in this rgds, you would understand more if u can probe very well the the success of kidnapping in recent times,

May God help us all!
