I, Khomeini Bukhari, A British Citizen Is Fighting For Justice After Being Robbed By Two Drunk Police Officers In Nigeria
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-4-Khomeini-Bukhari/185337854889174?sk=info

Dear ALL,

I am writing to everyone until appropriate action is taken by the Government of Nigeria.

I am writing in regards to an incident that occurred on Saturday the 29th of October which till this day has left me very shocked and traumatized and has left a scar on me. My name is Khomeini Bukhari and am a British National.I am the Head of Africa Division of the company I work for. I have been going to Nigeria since January 2009 and have absolutely loved every moment of it. This visit to Nigeria was for the purpose of meeting my fiance in order to make our wedding arrangements and to meet my in laws once again to formalize our plans. On Saturday 29th October, in the evening I entered Millennium Park in Abuja at 7pm as I wanted to relax. Upon leaving at around 8pm two drunk police officers stopped me, they told me no visitors are allowed after 6pm, I explained to them I didn't know this as I'm a visitor and when I entered at 7pm there were lots of people and nobody stopped me at the gate. They took to me a dark spot in the park and sat me on a rock where they harrased me. I pleaded with them and they were threatening to beat me and strip me naked and kidnap me and the rest. They asked for my I.D and I said I left it in the hotel, they then searched me, upon searching me they found 200,000NGN in my pocket and took it from me, they took my Breitling Chronomat Evolution Wristwatch (worth 1.3 million NGN) and took it from me leaving me with practically nothing, they wanted my phone but I begged and cried. They saw my wallet but I had some change in the wallet pocket and not out so they didn't spot it. I am writing this as I'm very uneasy and going through psychological trauma. I rang a Military General and he was trying to help me, as I was trying to discreetly call the Special Advisor to the president he didn't pick. I couldn't make any more phone calls as told me if they see me try and make any phone they will break my phone and told me at this point it is only the three of us so no one can save me, not even the IG of Police nor the President himself. I was very afraid. as in the Nigerian news and in the Nigerian newspapers it always shows how corrupt and dangerous the Nigerian police are and also was very afraid to go to the police station. Over that weekend I had to borrow money from my friends and live very economically.

On Monday 31st October I went to the British High Commission in Abuja and called the Foreign Commonwealth Office and they guided me to Maitama police station. The British High Commission also gave me one of their police escorts to accompany me. I reported to the DIO of the police station and also wrote a full report including the names of the officers and he gave me one Sgt Samson, that day I went with Sgt Samson to the scene and tried my best to re-en-act the scene, he said he will investigate it. After that day I have not heard anything from Sgt Samson nor anyone else in Maitama Police station. The following day I went to the Ministry of Police Affairs, I met with a Mr Victor who said he is the Chief Security Officer to the Minister, he again took a full report from me and he assured me that as I have given a full report with the police officers names that he within 2 days all will be resolved. I asked him about my possessions that were taken of me, he said, that they may not find them but as its the police that did it to me the Government will take full responsibility and compensate me. That day he gave me a Hilux Truck and sent me to FCT Command under the Minister’s instructions, as he claimed, to go and meet with the Assistant Commissioner of Police (operations) Mr Wilson Inalegwu. Upon reaching there he took the documents sent from the Ministry and told me he will assign the best Investigation officer that within a few days all will be resolved, he assigned a Mr Alechenu for me, who till date has not given me any feedback. I have gone back and forth many times to both places however I am not getting any feedback. Unless I don't go to them they dont I don't get an audience. When I call Mr Victor he doesn't pick but when seeing him he just smiles and says, we are doing our best but does not give me any feedback. Does this mean they dont care, or are they trying to hide the police officers and cover up the story?

On Thursday 17th November I went to meet ACP (operations) Mr Wilson Inalegwu and he told me, he wants me to meet the Commissioner of Police FCT the following day at anytime around 11am. Upon arriving to Command FCT the next day at that time, he was away on a meeting and the Commissioner was in his own meeting. I sat in the waiting room for quite some time then left out of annoyance feeling that they are not serious about my matter. The PA to the Commissioner when talking to him, all he said to me was he will let me know when the Commissioner is free. That is not an answer to give someone.

I am now in Britain and from over here I am still following it up however after giving them my details they have not called me to give me any update. I texted Mr Victor (Chief Security Officer of the Minister of Police Affairs) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr Wilson Inalegwu after there was no reception on their phones on the 21st of November and have not received a response.

Since I arrived I have also emailed the Foreign Commonwealth Office and the Nigerian High Commission. The SA of the Nigerian High Commissioner, Mr A.O.Enikanolaiye, did not respond to my email however, when I called him on the 30th of November 2011, he said Robberies happen everywhere, and I asked do they happen everywhere by the police or by criminals, he had no answer. Then he said you have reported it to the Nigerian Police so Im sure they are handling the case. I said I have given them precise details and since I went to their office, which I have several times, I have not received any feedback, they have my UK number and have not bothered to even call. Then again he stayed quiete. He then said currently the High Commissioner is too busy to see me, I asked has he seen my email, he responded he is too busy to see me but if I want to see him (meaning himself) he can meet me. I said I was a visitor from Great Britan to your country and I got robbed by the Nigerian police and they took a lot of money of me and the High Commissioner is too busy to meet me to even say anything, so he doesnt even have 30 minutes for me. I asked when is it then possible to see him, even if its anytime this week or next week or even the week after, he said he doesnt know. Now the conversation was longer than this but its a shame they are downgrading this event, its a shame they are not doing anything about it. In Nigeria a lot of crimes are done by the police but that does not make it right. Are they covering themselves, do they think if they mess me around I will eventually give up. I have no intention of giving up till I get justice. This type of event is completely unacceptable.

Does the Nigerian Police really care that I got robbed of my possessions. I feel they know who the police on duty were. How can it be after I have given the names they still have not found them (The two police officers that robbed me, their names are Samual Ekpah and Daniel Marcus). If my descriptions were vague I could understand but I gave them full details.

As you all know I have been all over the news, I have been in several Newspapers and also on TV. In addition more news reporters from Britain and Nigeria are very interested in my case.

I AM DOING THIS TO GET JUSTICE. I WILL NOT STOP TILL I GET JUSTICE. I PLEA WITH EVERYONE ON THIS SITE TO PLEASE SUPPORT MY PLEA. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NIGERIA BUT AM VERY SAD THAT NO ONE IN THE GOVERNMENT SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNMENT ARE MEANT TO SERVE AND PROTECT US, NOT NEGLECT US.

I BELIEVE IF I TRULY LOVE NIGERIA I WILL FIGHT THIS TILL THE END. IF I GET JUSTICE THEN THE NIGERIANS WHO HAVE SUFFERED THE SAME TYPE OF THINGS WILL HOPEFULLY ALSO GET JUSTICE.

LASTLY,I WOULD LIKE TO PLEAD WITH ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE TO PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THIS GROUP SO THEY CAN ALL PARTICIPATE AND SUPPORT THIS GREAT CAUSE.

With Regards,

Khomeini Bukhari

The iddiot should go and sit down. After his country rubbed us dry in the name of colonisation he is spreading rubbish against our police.

He should go-and-sit-down!

Period.

your comment is out of place and also criminal and racist.

this man who was robbed by the police is most likely an immigrant to the UK just as many africans are found there.

besides,if you think you want to avenge colonialism, that is for the nigerian government to do.at least,we are not asking for war with the colonialist but as Qaddafi did with Italy,we should get compensation through the official channel.if you think robbing citizens of other countries is the right way to avenge for colonialism then you are no less a criminal.besides, you should know well that your stance is not an official policy by the government of nigeria and most nigerians will not support your immorality of robbery.using such indecent act, could trigger a response from abroad.believe me,if the UK wants to re-colonize nigeria today directly using force and its combat troops,it would take a matter of days before we start to see british soldiers in our streets and transporting our oil for free as they did with Iraq.while i do not support western oppression and imperialism and i always condemn them and their schemes to colonize the world indirectly, but criminal activity by the police who are meant to provide assurance to foreigners and safety and security to us all, should not be tolerated.it should be dealt with decisively to be a lesson for others.otherwise this country would be inhabitable for foreigners and nigerians alike.then we would only have ourselves to blame as our economy, image and country could suffer.

so please, think first before posting nonsense.

This man is best ignored. Why is the british foreign office not even taking his case up? Why is he not taking Nigerian Police to court if his evidence is strong enough? Is he going to be honest to actually say how much the Police have devoted to his case and found nothing? Will he be honest enough to admit his incoherent statements so far?
People have been sympathetic to his cause and blind to the actions of the state. Nigeria may not be the best state, but we still have some things working? Few police officers were ordered to follow this man to the scene of incidence immediately after he reported the case, they didnt find anything! The names of police officers he mentioned is not even in the database!

You had 200k on you and went to relax in a public park late at night. I am guessing you either wanted to buy drugs or solicit for some boy love or both.
You approached the two men for s e x or have been known to frequent parks late at night for such.
Amma rite?
Help me tell dem o.

let us assume that truly this man went there to fvck boys or even to seduce the policemen (of all people),does that mean they should administer punishment on him? what about "innocent until proven guilty"? why then do we complain that our police are brutal and irresponsible? are they not shooting nigerians for 20 naira? and besides, you really think that they would do all this because he was there soliciting boys or drugs? he just needed to wave 20,000 in their faces and they would assist him in the task! we know the men we are talking about.

from what you are saying,i understand the following points:

1.) those men in police uniform were armed robbers and not real policemen
2.) the man is lying about such an incident
3.) there were no security men in that place bearing those names

so which are you suggesting? shouldn't the police have reached a tangible conclusion and investigate this matter to put a full stop by publishing their findings?

I can't help but smdh @ some ppl and their callous comments. That country will continue the trash that it is ppl like u around. A man was abused which we all know occurs a lot in Nigeria and u are here defending the officers and even laying all sorts irrelevant accusations against him.

i tire O!

no wonder the bad system where no one is held accountable and there is no justice will continue to haunt us.

for God's sake in a public park, you dont expect the place to be like an abandoned grave-yard.there are people there who take care of the place and guard it.there should be witnesses to confirm the names of those men and from which station they are sent and who requested their presence even if those witnesses did not witness the actual incident.regardless rightly or wrongly what the foreign man went to do there or what happened, the action of those criminals is inexcusable and a thorugh investigation should've been done than simply sending an officer as escort to the place for sightseeing.

How many expats or foriegners go around alone in Nigeria even in Abuja and late at night at that? How do we know even if the guys that robbed him were actually cops?
There is more to this story or it is a total fabrication. I even believe this guy is out to deliberately discredit the Nigerian Police and some top officials.

what i hate is injustice.what is unfair and unjust is bad.

you are talking about discrediting the police, does the police have any credit remaining for anyone to discredit it? nonsense!

how do we know they were actually cops? what do armed robbers go to do in a secured park in abuja?how did they manage to smuggle their guns and themselves with uniform into the park and come out of the gate without any hindrance? do armed robbers to parks in nigeria for picnic?or do they go searching for who to pick-pocket in arbitary manner? i know that armed-robbers dont gamble with their chances and they do their homework well before embarking on any operation.they would not go into a park late and come out unhindered. please open your head.or may be you too are drunk and you should go to bed and sleep.may be when you wake up you will think clear and contribute more meaningfully in a just way to be fair.

people like you commenting in a carefree way because its a foreigner that is involved and because the policemen are "nigeria police" are in fact giving us more bad image.
Re: British Citizen Seeks Justice Against Nigeria Police Through Facebook by Nobody: 2:09am On Feb 22, 2012
The comments so far from Nigerians is just as disgusting as it is shameful and unbelievable. Udezue, and Onyocha, I'd advice you to just ignore these animals because it is clear what part of the fence they are standing on.

What a damn shame.

Re: British Citizen Seeks Justice Against Nigeria Police Through Facebook by olapluto(m): 3:28am On Feb 22, 2012
If people can just do a bit of google work, they will be able to make the right conclusions about this man. He is not in any way a coherent person. Till date, his only evidence is his own statement. No one witnessed it, no one to even collaborate his visit to the park. The police authorities have taken this case up to the highest possible place. The IG has been involved. House committee on Police invited this man's petition. He has not been available to give further evidence. The police have arrested 7 people and have called him to come identify them, but he will prefer to stay in UK and say thrash over there. Even the new IG has promised to help him as far as he helps himself.  All this is not enough for him. He went to UK and started disturbing the Nigerian high commision to the UK. This is gross and silly of him offcourse. My question remains why is his own government not even taking him serious? Because they see that his case lacks merit. But knowing Nigerians for what we are, we will jump and kill ourselves for oyinbo or koraaa.
When people say an injustice has been commited against Khomeini, they should please be ready to give evidence. I can sit here and claim the british police stole my £1m, but no evidence to back it up. He claims to know the names of the police officers involved, these names returned zero match in the police database. They asked him some cogent questions which should prove whether those people were police or not, he could not answer. You all can make your conclusions as you like, but let us all be sensible.

See our life Nigeria!!! He wants government attention, please count the number of GOVERNMENT offices that had attended to his case within days! He has tactically ommited the response of the British High Commission and Commonwealth office. Also, I guess its OK for me to go to British High Commision in Nigeria and demand to see the high commissioner for issues I have with met.police while in London. Nigerians please let us rise up and use our brains. He has shredded our integrity in one single essay, and yet people are joining this greaaaaattt course. Superb!

@Ola_Pluto

someone was robbed by police officers.if this had happened in the UK,the entire Nigeria and black world would have stood up to scream "racism".i really think you have no case to make.you are an insensitive racist using words like "koraa".

what is normal for the police to do is to fetch out those two policemen and punish them.dont tell us about police incompetence that their names were not found in the database.that is not the victim's fault.or is it not obvious that because "oyinbo" is involved the police is refusing to bring out those two drunken criminals in uniform?

you are talking of being coherent.do you know how incoherent your own statements in defense of the police sound? reading them could give headache.

Dear ALL LOVELY NIGERIANS,

Hope you are all fine. I have just been informed about this page and I came to greet all my BROTHERS and SISTERS. I want to start of by saying I have read all the comments that people have wrote and want to say I LOVE NIGERIA, INFACT I LOVE IT VERY MUCH. BY GOD'S GRACE SOON I WILL ALSO MARRY A NICE NIGERIAN GIRL. I don't understand why some of you are annoyed that I am fighting for justice, when I get justice, it means I have introduced positive change. Me getting justice is not just for myself but for the country. I share common feelings with Nigerian people as we both love Nigeria and want to see a better Nigeria. I have fought so hard to get justice and till this day nothing has happened. I have gone to every corner to get justice and yet no one has seemed to react or care. I am deeply sorry for all the Nigerians that have gone through similar incidents both home and abroad but as we are all humans and from one ADAM we need to unite for a better tomorrow. We need to forget about race, religion, colour or any other differences. I have joined this group so anyone who would like to question me can do so freely. I am innocent and therefore it is my right to get justice. I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN HANDS WITH ALL NIGERIANS AS ONE AND ASK IF YOU CAN KINDLY SUPPORT ME IN GETTING JUSTICE. I ALSO HAVE A PAGE ON FACEBOOK CALLED 'JUSTICE 4 KHOMEINI BUKHARI' (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-4-Khomeini-Bukhari/185337854889174) WHERE I UPDATE ALL REGARDING MY CASE. I PRAY SOON MY CASE COMES TO A NICE RESOLUTION SO I CAN COME BACK TO NIGERIA AND TO MARRY THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. Please also look at my YOUTUBE videos which have been uploaded for all to see regarding my case. Lastly, below my response is my petition to PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN which I handed to Minister Labaran Maku at the BEN TV Security Seminar which took place on Thursday 23rd February, 2012. I had to write this petition to PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN as after writing to everyone else and never recieved a response he was my last resort. THANKYOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME AND ATTENTION. MAY GOD BLESS NIGERIA. MAY GOD BLESS THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA. LOOK FORWARD TO ALL YOUR RESPONSES. WITH REGARDS, KHOMEINI BUKHARI.

Dear President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Your Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR,

I am writing to you as up till today no action has been taken by the Nigerian Authorities regarding my case.

My case is regarding an incident that occurred on Saturday the 29th of October which till this day has left me very shocked and traumatized and has left a scar on me. My name is Khomeini Bukhari and I am a British National. I am the Head of Africa Division of the company I work for. I have been going to Nigeria since January 2009 and have absolutely loved every moment of it. This visit to Nigeria was for the purpose of meeting my fiance in order to make our wedding arrangements and to meet my in laws once again to formalize our plans. On Saturday 29th October, in the evening, I entered Millennium Park in Abuja at 7pm as I wanted to relax. Upon leaving at around 8pm two drunk police officers stopped me, they told me no visitors are allowed after 6pm, I explained to them I didn't know this as I'm a visitor and when I entered at 7pm there were lots of people and nobody stopped me at the gate. They took to me to a dark spot in the park and sat me on a rock where they harassed me. I pleaded with them and they were threatening to beat me and strip me Unclad and kidnap me and the rest. They asked for my I.D and I said I left it in the hotel, they then searched me, upon searching me they found 200,000NGN in my pocket and took it from me, they also took my Breitling Chronomat Evolution Wristwatch (worth 1.3 million NGN) and left me with practically nothing, they wanted my phone but I begged and cried. I couldn't make any more phone calls as told me if they see me try and make any phone calls they will break my phone and told me at this point it is only the three of us so no one can save me, not even the IG of Police nor the President himself.

The following day I went to the Ministry of Police Affairs, I met with a Mr Victor who said he is the Chief Security Officer to the Minister, he again took a full report from me and he assured me that as I have given a full report  with the police officers names that within 2 days all will be resolved. Unless I don't go to them I don't get an audience. When I call Mr Victor he doesn't pick but when I go to the Ministry to find him, when seeing him he just smiles and says, we are doing our best but does not give me any feedback. Does this mean they don’t care, or are they trying to hide the police officers and cover up the story?

On Thursday 17th November I went to meet ACP (operations) Mr Wilson Inalegwu and he told me, he wants me to meet the Commissioner of Police FCT the following day at any time around 11am.

I texted Mr Victor (Chief Security Officer of the Minister of Police Affairs) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr Wilson Inalegwu after there was no reception on their phones on the 21st of November 2011 and have not received a response.

Then he said you have reported it to the Nigerian Police so I’m sure they are handling the case. I said I have given them precise details and since I went to their office, which I have several times, I have not received any feedback, they have my UK number and have not bothered to even call. Then again he stayed quiet. He then said currently the High Commissioner is too busy to see me, I asked has he seen my email, he responded he is too busy to see me but if I want to see him (meaning himself) he can meet me. I said I was a visitor from Great Britain to your country and I got robbed by the Nigerian police and they took a lot of money of me and the High Commissioner is too busy to meet me to even say anything, so he doesn’t even have 30 minutes for me. I asked when is it then possible to see him, even if it’s anytime this week or next week or even the week after, he said he doesn’t know. Now the conversation was longer than this but it’s a shame they are downgrading this event, it’s a shame they are not doing anything about it. In Nigeria a lot of crimes are done by the police but that does make it right. Are they covering themselves, do they think if they mess me around I will eventually give up. I have no intention of giving up till I get justice. This type of event is completely unacceptable.

In December, the Chairman of House Committee on Police Affairs asked me to send him a petition which I did. I sent it to him on the 13th  of December, 2011. He promised me he will raise the issue in the National Assembly and get it solved. Till date nothing has been done.

During December, 2011 again, I managed to get hold of Mr Hafiz Ringim and also the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr Michael Zuokumor. The Ex Inspector- General of Police, Mr Hafiz Ringim promised me endlessly to look into the matter however nothing was done. The FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr Michael Zuokumor said he arrested 7 suspects and told me to come to give a positive ID, upon informing Mr Hafiz Ringim about this he also agreed that yes I need to come to identify the suspects. Once he had told me to come, taking all matters into consideration I then sent him a text message, “Dear Mr Hafiz Ringim, hope you are well and good, upon thinking about all that has happened, me being in the media and also our conversations I am fearful to come to Nigeria however, if you are serious about helping me I would need to be invited officially and the following requirements would need to be met: 1. An official invitation from the Nigerian Police Force stating the reason of my visit. 2. An official letter stating that the Nigerian Police Force will ensure my full security during my whole stay. 3. All my expenses paid including my stay whilst in Nigeria and anywhere I stay must be fully secured by the Nigerian Police Force. I believe if you truly want to help the following will be will be met and I believe from this stage on you must take full control in getting this matter solved. I have already spent a lot of time and efforts in getting myself this far as everybody in the Nigerian Police Force neglected me. Look forward to your response. With Regards, Mr Bukhari”. After that day I never received a response from him nor did he receive my calls again. However I did text him and try calling him again to give him the benefit of the doubt. The next text message I sent to him was, “Dear Mr Hafiz Ringim, hope you are well and good. I am not seeming to get a response from you, if you want to resolve this case, and truly do, lets do it the proper way, the official way, where everything is organized. Look forward to your response. With Regards, Mr Bukhari”. Yet again I never received a response. My texts did deliver and I also tried calling, the phone did ring however no response. At this point I believed I was again being neglected.

On the 9th of February, 2012, I tried to contact the NEW Acting IG of Police, I called and I believe one of his PAs picked up and advised me to send a text and the IG will act on it and so I did this. The following day in the morning I received a phone call from a Mr Lateef who claimed to be his PA and gave me his email and requested to send a petition addressed to the IG  and that he will hand it to him and so I did. I sent it within the hour.

On the17th of February 2012 at around 19.30 UK time I spoke to your Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati,he calimed he has not heard of my case. We spoke for a good 20 minutes till the phone dropped, he was telling me he will look into the matter and I told him I have heard that line before and have also been promised Heaven and Earth by the others and nothing has been done till date. The call then dropped. Once the call dropped I tried again a couple of times and there was no response, not sure if he got tired and hung up the phone on me so I just sent him a text which goes as follows:

" My name is Khomeini Bukhari we just spoke, you said you want to look into the matter as this is the first you have heard of it, I shall be awaiting your response. Regards,".

To be honest I explained the case to him, I do not believe he does not know who I am, I also explained all the people who promised to help and nothing was done about it, then i ex-plained how this whole situation has effected my life, he did not seem sympathetic at all.

On the 18th of February at 18.28 UK time I called your Minister of Information and Commu-nication,  Labaran Maku, to ask for assistance in my matter, after the conversation I started feeling so sad. I introduced myself to him and he told me he has never heard of me. How can it be that after I have been heavily involved in the media he has never heard of me and infact no one has heard of me. I told him my story and he was asking me if I have lodged a com-plaint and I told him I have and listed all the people I have complained to, I even told him about the people who promised to help me and till date nothing has been done about it. He then went on to telling me that crime happens everywhere in world, I then asked he if he was justifying the matter, and he said not at all. I then emphasized to him that this crime was not done by criminals, it was done by police officers. He then said to me like everyone else has said, that he will investigate the matter. I then said I have heard this before and nothing has been done about it. I then started explaining to him how this incident has effected my life.  He told me he expects me to be in Nigeria if I want the situation solved and I said how can I be there as I have been heavily exposed in the media and I have been warned by the Foreign Commonwealth Office that I will not be safe in Nigeria until I am assured full security and invited officially. I even told him that he knows I am not safe in Nigeria, he refused to hear that and said lots of British are here, to me he was pretending to not know how dangerous it can be for me to just enter Nigeria without the protection the Government.  He then went onto saying all I want to do is destroy Nigeria’s reputation and be famous, I then went onto explaining it is my right to get justice in this matter and I never want to destroy the reputation of Nigeria as I love Nigeria, I even want to marry a Nigerian and this whole incident has even effected my relationship and is delaying my marriage. He then asked me my name again, and I replied Khomeini Bukhari and then he said that sounds like a Russian name, that comment upset me further as I dont see how that comment was relevant however I did tell him that I’m not Russian and that I’m British. At the end of the conversation he then requested that I send him a text with my name in it which I did.

The Minister was just downplaying the whole incident and showed lack of interest and sym-pathy. It is a big shame how a Federal Minister can behave this way. After the conversation I sent him a text with my name in it as follows:

"Dear Minister Labran Maku I said I have done my best to get justice and nothing has been done about it. From the little you have said it seems you dont care either. Regards, Mr Kho-meini Bukhari".

The Chairman of House Committee on Police Affairs, Honourable Usman Bellow Kumo has also invited me to Nigeria to come and identify the police officers and help the Nigerian Po-lice Force investigate matters, upon inviting me I told him that Mr Hafiz Ringim did the same however I do not feel safe coming and if he wants me to come I have conditions that need to be met, I briefed him on it and he promised he will do that. After our conversation I texed him, after the text message was he started avoiding me too.

In THE TIMES SERIES IN LONDON on the edition which was published on the 16th of February, 2012, it said the Honourable promised to help me, to be honest he has not answered my calls for 3 weeks. I have texted him on a couple of occasions and he has not even re-sponded. The first text which I have some how misplaced was basically reminding him of his promise which was sent after he did not pick my call and the second text which was sent at 20.06 on the 19th of February, 2012,  as again he did not pick my call and it went as follows:

"Dear Hounarable Usman Bellow Kumo, hope you are well and good. Thankyou for not picking my call once again. Two weeks back you promised to help me in my case, and to ar-range for me to come to Nigeria officially so we can have a quick closure. On the 16th of February you appeared in the TIMES SERIES IN LONDON and it said you promised to help in getting the Nigerian Government to pay for my expenses, solve my care and get me compensation. Where are you now, you dont even answer my calls. You gave me hope in getting justice and now it seems it was just another empty promise from yet another Nige-rian government official. Regards, Mr Bukhari.

One last point I would like to make is I do not feel anyone in Nigeria I taking my case seriously as nothing has been done about it, I do not see and sufficient progress in my matter. An hour after I spoke to Dr Reuben Abati I recieved a call from Nigeria, the man was telling me he has some vital information on the Police officers who attacked me. I then called him the next day and he told me he is ACP in the Nigerian Police Force but not to sure what state he said, whether it be FCT or another state. The day he called me he told me he knows the Police officers directly and then the following day he told me it was someone else who knows them. He requested I send him my email address that he will help me fight my case and he also believes in justice and that he will keep me updated via email. After our conversation I then texted him my email address. On the 20th of February, 2012. The details are as follows:

Subject: Information

Hello Mr Bukhari! I just wanna let you know how far we have gone about your issues. We have sent those names to all divisions of Nigeria police force. And they have started working vigorously on those names. By the time we get to the bottom of the matter, the Nigeria police force and the government shall seat and decide on what to do. But regarding the guy that is feeding us with some vital information on how we can get those criminals has stopped giving us. After collecting #50,000.00 naira from me,is now demanding for another money before he could say anything again. I am getting tired about the whole issues. I suggest if you can assist us with some money to give to this guy,i think he will tell us everything we need to know that will assist us in various part of our investigation. I am not forcing you,but the guy is demand-ing for #200,000.00 naira.i want you to raise something and i will voluntarily complete the rest of the money. And pls, make the
payment very quick pls.i am not forcing you like i said, but i want us to sacrifice what ever it will cost us to get the necessary information that will assist us.If you are ready this is the means of paying the money-BANK NAME-ACCESS BANK.ACCOUNT NUMBER-0010467835.ACCOUNT NAME-DARAMOLA BUKUNMI OMOTOLA.Just try and send something.Or you send it through WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER.PLS DONT JOKE WITH THIS.EXPECTING YOU REPLY.THANKS.typed and sent by the Secretary to the A.C.P.
That very day I texted the information to Mr Lateef, the PA to the IG and he assured me he will deal with this. Till now again I have received no response.

I do not feel the Nigerian Police Force and Government are doing enough about my case, how can it be that first I give the names and full information about the two police officers who harassed me and nothing happened and now I am giving full details on this new man and nothing has happened. In the first instance they are telling me they can’t find them and are still investigating and now they haven’t got back to me about this man. I know that when one opens an account in Nigeria you need to show proof and also bills and in this case they have his name and account number, this should be easy and yet no response. To me something is not just right.

RIGHT NOW I FEEL LET DOWN AND DECIEVED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF NI-GERIA, NOT ONE OF THEM HAS KEPT THEIR PROMISE. I FIND IT HARD TO BE-LIEVE THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHO THESE MEN ARE, I BELIEVE THEY THINK BY HIDING THESE MEN THEY ARE PROTECTING THE REPUTATION OF NIGERIA, THEY ARE ONLY SHOWING ME THEY SUPPORT SUCH BEHAVIOUR AND THAT IT IS COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE.

I want you to know that this case is really getting to me and has actually taken up a lot of my time and it may seem to a lot of people out there that I may be jobless but the real fact is that I'm a very busy man however, I have this passion for getting justice as it will have positive effect on the masses of Nigeria aswell. You may know or not know but I even have a page on facebook called 'Justice 4 Khomeini Bukhari' and also a video clip on youtube letting people know our my last interview with SAHARA REPORTERS. Also, this case has effected my relationship as till date I am not married and all the delay is due to the security risk of me going back to Nigeria. This case has effected me harshly due to the following; firstly, due to my goods being stolen by two police officers, secondly, the trauma I went through afterwards, thirdly, for the fact they neglected me for a long period, fourthly, for the time and effort and sacrifices I made in getting justice, I actually had to devote so much time with the media and promoting this case whereby I had to neglect my office duties and lastly, for the delay of my marriage. At times my fiance does not actually know when I'll come back or if i'll not come back for the next few years. All these things put together as you can see has been very stressful, painful and scary.

I AM DOING THIS TO GET JUSTICE. I WILL NOT STOP TILL I GET JUSTICE. I PLEA WITH THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT TO PLEASE SUPPORT MY PLEA. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NIGERIA BUT AM VERY SAD THAT NO ONE IN THE GOVERNMENT SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNMENT ARE MEANT TO SERVE AND PROTECT US, NOT NEGLECT US.

DEAR MR PRESIDENT YOU ARE THE NUMBER ONE CITIZEN OF THE COUNTRY AND I KNOW YOU HAVE THE MOST POWERS AND CAN DO ANYTHING AND ME WRITING TO YOU I KNOW ALL IS POSSIBLE.

I have given the Minister of Information and Communication my number, for any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

I thank you for your time and attention.

With Regards,

Khomeini Bukhari

Mr Bukhari, welcome to nairaland. Here, people tell the truth and are honest. You have blocked me from your facebook page for telling the world the truth about your case. You cannot block me here, so be ready to tell the world the truth. I also promise you that nairalanders will address your issue in honesty.
I will be posing many questions to you about your case, and I hope you can answer honestly. Please answer or refute the following (mostly the same questions/comments you deleted off your facebook page and blocked me for):
1. Is there any other witness apart from yourself? Did any other person come forward to collaborate any of your stories? If not, then am I wrong to assume that you want the world to believe your words?
2. Your statement has been taken and the issue investigated thoroughly by the police force. The deputy force PRO, Yemi Ajayi has this to say about you: “The man only wants to embarrass us.  We were wondering what he was doing at such a place by 6.00 pm in the evening alone and no other person was in the entire park?  We have also asked him to come forward to give statement but he refused, saying he has travelled.
“The first time he came, he looks unkempt and from his physique and the incoherent manner of his statements, it does not seem he is in his best frame of mind.  I suspect he only wants to embarrass us, but we have commenced investigations on his complaints.  When we post policemen on duty in the evenings, we give them torch lights, but the man said none of them had a torch light.
“We have even run a check on our system to cross-match the names he gave, but we don’t have such names on our staff list.  He even said the policemen claimed they were from the Police College Kaduna but all these are not true.  He has refused to clarify his claims.  However, we plead with him to come forward, so we can get more information that will help us conclude investigation on the matter,” How do you respond to this?
3. The above statement clearly defeats your argument that no one has attended to your case.
4. You take every opportunity to disregard government protocols in you supposed search for justice. You did not report this case to the police at first, you went to other means: You called a military general, presidential special adviser, and later the British High Commision.
5. The Nigerian police detailed one of the best investigating officers in the country to handle your case, he concluded that you were incoherent in your responses.
6. You disregard protocol at will (perhaps because of your almighthy Britishness): you were invited by the Police Commisioner in Abuja, but you left his office because you could not wait for your turn to be attended to. Hail the very special Mr. Bukhari
7. You demanded access to the minister of Police affairs, who personally directed that your case be thoroughly investigated.#
8. You left Nigeria without appearing when requested at the Maitama Police station.
9. You came over to Britain and started opportunistic photo ops with Nigerians to try whip up public sentiments on your case, while you yourself are aware of the fact that you have been dishonest so far.
10. The IGP (topmost police officer in Nigeria) was on your case. He contacted you in Britain to come down to Nigeria so that you can identify those arrested. You refused. You want an ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP to Nigeria before coming to identify these suspects. NB, you left Nigeria in the first instance with total disregard to Maitama police inspector who asked you to come for further investigations, which you refused.
11. You went to meet Labaran Maku in London, and he politely told you that justice cannot be done if you do not come to Nigeria.
12. In your statement to Maitama police station, you claimed the two police men were from Kaduna police training school, how you knew this still baffles me.
13. THE TWO NAMES YOU MENTIONED WERE NOT FOUND ON THE POLICE DATABASE!!!
More to come after you respond to this.
Finally, I beg Nigerians to please be wise when dealing with issues like this. We all accept that our police force is not the best in the world, but then, I want you to all think on this case.

@ola_pluto

while i would not reply word for word to the questions you stated as Mr.Bukhari should do that personally and rather more convincingly do that, but i nonetheless have something to say about you and your comments.

your comments are rather rude, racist and personal.do you know this man before you utter the insensitive words you are typing here and trying hard to be a lawyer for your armpit-stinking,inhumane,brutal, and corrupt police officers? i find your comments more annoying, irressponsible and unprofessional than the so called yoruba fellow called Yemi Ajayi who you say is the deputy force PRO in abuja.perhaps being yoruba is all about tribalism. as your username is "ola_pluto" you tend to believe anyone carrying the name "yemi" more than any other person no matter how victimized he or she may be.

you cant use words such as "almighty britishness" and "Hail the very special Mr. Bukhari",and you think anyone with a sound mind would take you seriously and not see your outright racism and bias.your wordings are disgusting.

you build your entire argument on the premise that "the police says".why should i discredit this man because your police says so? you admit or accept the police denial of having two men with two particular names stationed in a very famous public place that is always protected by at least a couple or few police officers.who were the policement guarding that park that evening? do you really think the police denial of knowing those names makes them any less unserious, brutal, unprofessional and careless than they are already known? why would i believe those names are not found in the database of the police because the police says so,when this man has a case against those same people? treating this man rightly and justly has to do with making sure those two beasts in police uniforms are exposed publicly and dealt with according to law.no one is above the law and certainly even police officers are not.serving justice in this case will send a clear message to the brutal policemen who kill innocent nigerians at will for 20 naira bribe that time has changed for the better.this is justice for Nigerians as well.

i am asking you Mr. "ola-pluto",are you saying this man is forming up this story on his own?do you think he invented this story or are you and Mr. Yemi Ajayi accusing him of hallucination?perhaps he can give us more details to convince us that the incident took place and he is mentally sound.but as for you i will just stop short of expressing what is in my mind regarding your insenstive, racist and irresponsible words that you are personally turning against this man for no reason other than he is a foreigner and a british and you are either jealous or envious of that.shame on you,you are a disgrace to this country!!!
Re: British Citizen Seeks Justice Against Nigeria Police Through Facebook by Onyocha: 1:47am On Mar 02, 2012
let me also put it to you Mr."ola_pluto" because you sound like a yoruba man from pluto devoid of knowldge about the earth and what goes on in Nigeria that if this man was making or cooking up this story, your Mr. Yemi Ajayi has every right to tell us who were his officers guarding that park that particular evening and time.who were the officers guarding that park that evening and how come they did not witness or testify they saw nothing happen to this man?they have to make a professional and thorugh investigation to prove to us who were the names guarding the park.a high ranking police officer who knows his job and is literate enough would not describe a victim of police brutality as "unkempt" and on that premise discredit the man's case, and you want us to listen to him.tomorrow, anyone could fall victim to the same treatment in an isolated location or otherwise, and you can come up telling us that the police says this or that and that certain names are not found.aside from the police being responsible to conduct an investigation, they are also responsible for safeguarding the people of this country.such a criminal incident taking place and the police making such denial does not portray them as competent people who we can trust our security into their hands.it is the same culture of lack of accountability that keeps dragging us back and putting corrupt men at the helm of our affairs.this has to stop now!
Re: British Citizen Seeks Justice Against Nigeria Police Through Facebook by olapluto(m): 2:30am On Mar 02, 2012
Onyocha, if you are patient enough, you will see reason. Basically, this case is between the police working hard on an investigation, and a man talking much about it with no precise action. Mr Buhkari has accused the Nigerian police, but he is only doing so by word of mouth, with no proofs except what he says and he banks on people like you to be his alleluyah boys. I have not for once questioned whether or not this thing happened. I have purposedly omitted the fact that Mr Buhkari was illegally in the park in the first instance, and he could not provide identification on request. Normally, this should warrant an arrest.
Having said that, you and I will agree that anyone can accuse Nigeria of anything nowadays. The onus is now on us as Nigerians to establish the truth in the matter from facts we piece together. The police have said they do not post their men to that particular park. Therefore, anyone there was not on official duty in the first instance. Secondly, the names he produced did not match anything on the police database. Thirdly, Mr Bukhari was not willing to help the investigators. He refused to show up at the police station.
The reason I am taking this issue personal is because I strongly believe this case is skewed on many levels. I live in Britain and I know how things work. While everyone has a right, they also have a responsibility. If I get robbed of £800 in a park in Britain after its closing hours, I must be ready to give a very very strong reason as to what I am doing at that place and time. I must also be ready to show my identification. Moreover, I do expect that the first thing to do is to report to the police, and not a military general or a presidential special adviser. Also, I will wait for the result of police investigations, if I am not satisfied, I will go to court. I wonder what evidences this man will tender in court to prove this case actually happened. I believe he is trying to prove his innocence by getting the police to admit guilt by funding his trip to Nigeria. We all know the case of Baba Suwe, not a foreigner, but got 25m for wrongful detention. Let Mr. Bukhari come go to Nigeria and prove his case. Also let him be honest in all he does.
So far, I will not pick the obvious incoherences in Mr. Bukhari's statements yet, till he responds to the issues I asked.
And please let us argue this case without bringing tribe into it. The accused policemen do not have Yoruba names. IGP Ringim who invited BUkhari is not Yourba. I want justice for this man and justice for Nigeria. But let him come with clean hands.
Re: British Citizen Seeks Justice Against Nigeria Police Through Facebook by debetmx(m): 9:13am On Mar 02, 2012
The police needs to address some vital questions here;

1. Who were the policemen on duty at the park that day?
2. If anybody witnessed the robbery?

The thing that really bothers is the attitude of the police to this case. We still remember the case of the guy who always allegedly robbed by policemen, who was detained with criminals while the policemen were kept behind the counter. I stand to be corrected but the Nigerian Police is trying to hide something here.

working hard on this matter must see that those two criminals in uniform are punished.the police is not working hard and is portraying itself as incompetent by saying the names of those officers are not found in the database.whose fault is that? how can there be police officers with guns guarding a famous public place and their names are not found?

you dont play games and deny this man justice because he is a foreigner.the country is already full of people as such who at the slightest incident would address a foreigner:"do you think you are in your country"? and so what if he isn't in his country? are strangers here to be maltreated even by the law enforcement agents? this isn't something good for us.

Mr Buhkari has accused the Nigerian police, but he is only doing so by word of mouth, with no proofs except what he says and he banks on people like you to be his alleluyah boys.
Don’t worry! May be you have never felt injustice from those criminals in uniform.let them rob you at gunpoint then I will ask you if there is no evidence to prove your case.

Firstly,it is the duty of the police to investigate this case.they should either serve justice and punish those men in uniform or they should prove to us that Mr.Bukhari is lying and the incident did not happen.it is the responsibility of police to provide safety and security in the country.you don’t dismiss things like this.we are not in court as yet.

I have not for once questioned whether or not this thing happened. I have purposedly omitted the fact that Mr Buhkari was illegally in the park in the first instance, and he could not provide identification on request. Normally, this should warrant an arrest.
Firstly, being in the park at 6pm is not illegal.secondly, even if we accept it was illegal then the man ought to have been arrested and not robbed.does policemen have the right to rob people because they commit one offence or the other? Are you okay? Oh,so they didn’t arrest him and showed him a favor by robbing him.isn’t that how you sound?

Having said that, you and I will agree that anyone can accuse Nigeria of anything nowadays. The onus is now on us as Nigerians to establish the truth in the matter from facts we piece together. The police have said they do not post their men to that particular park. Therefore, anyone there was not on official duty in the first instance. Secondly, the names he produced did not match anything on the police database. Thirdly, Mr Bukhari was not willing to help the investigators. He refused to show up at the police station.
This isn’t a case of someone accusing Nigerians or Nigeria of something.this is a case about a couple of criminals in police uniform.why must you see it from the view that “it is us against them”?

The police have said they do not post their men to that particular park? Are you lying or is the police lying? I went to the park a few days ago and policemen were there.how come? A public park with hundreds of people without security men? Is that possible?

If this man seeking justice is harmed in the process showing up in Nigeria, who would take responsibility? Wont we hear another story that the people who harmed him are anonymous?stop kidding here my friend.

Have you bothered to know what time the park officially closes? You live in Britain and you are this close-minded.
Being somewhere after closing time is not a criminal offence.being robbed at that time is a criminal offence.if this had happened to you in Britain,it would be raining snow in hell or fire in heaven!!!

I must also be ready to show my identification. Moreover, I do expect that the first thing to do is to report to the police, and not a military general or a presidential special adviser.
That is another wrong info you are spreading.the first action the man took the following day was to visit his diplomatic mission in Abuja and he was given a policeman to report at the maitama police station.

Also, I will wait for the result of police investigations,
Is denying police names are found in the so called database an investigation to you?

if I am not satisfied, I will go to court. I wonder what evidences this man will tender in court to prove this case actually happened. I believe he is trying to prove his innocence by getting the police to admit guilt by funding his trip to Nigeria.
You are talking nonsense because you are in Britain where there is law and order.you are enjoying this man’s peaceful and orderly country while you deny him the courtesy of justice by tending to his case of injustice properly in your own country.you should treat others the way you’d like to be treated.that is the least you should do.until the police proves to us that those criminals are no police officers, and there were no policemen there that evening or this man is lying, then I believe this man.which story from the police am i even to believe? You are advising him to go to court,he will eventually go if no conclusion is made.but you know what could happen in court with time wasting.justice delayed is justice denied.talking that he is trying to get the police fund his trip as a way of admitting guilt for the case is not true.the police funding his trip would ensure that the police is accepting responsibility for his safety and security while he is in Nigeria.

We all know the case of Baba Suwe, not a foreigner, but got 25m for wrongful detention. Let Mr. Bukhari come go to Nigeria and prove his case. Also let him be honest in all he does.
Baba suwe sued them because initially when he was accused of smuggling drugs, his news on how many times he excreted was reported.may be you should ask those criminals who robbed this man to have reported the incident in the media.

So far, I will not pick the obvious incoherences in Mr. Bukhari's statements yet, till he responds to the issues I asked.
You have used that word “incoherence” before.and you are the one and the police that are giving out incoherent statements.

And please let us argue this case without bringing tribe into it. The accused policemen do not have Yoruba names. IGP Ringim who invited BUkhari is not Yourba. I want justice for this man and justice for Nigeria. But let him come with clean hands.
You obviously are bringing tribe and race into this issue.from the onset you viewed this case as “us against them”.you shouldn’t even bother to waste anyone’s time by discrediting someone’s case with your discrimination and sentiments against him for being a foreigner.

Who guards the park, police or private security?who was on duty that very night?

Strange the man had 200K in his pocket on a night out, what was it for?he's no stranger to abuja/Nigeria so he knows how things work here, what was he gonna do/doing with 200K in his pockets?

What does he mean by "relaxing" at the park?what was he doing/did he do for the 1 hour he spent alone at the park?

He claimed he tried placing a call while he was been robbed and the robbers saw that,i find it hard to swallow that line.Naija police i know of would have seized his phone immediately.

Which hotel was he staying at and why was he having no form of identification on him. . .but he had 200K plus ? who saw him enter the park?

Did the robbers escort him out of the park?If no,when he or the robbers left(whoever left first),did he raise alarm instantly?

Lastly,9ja police use black uniform but all men in black are not policemen. The mans story does not add up,IMO

We still wait for Bukhari to respond. Meanwhile, Onyocha, you can do better than accusing everyone of racism. Let us table this case and make sensible inferences. So far, I have not said any untruths about Mr Bukhari. If I have, please point it out and I will apologise. I only ask that he be honest in reporting his case.

my friend i have not accused "everyone" of racism.i have accused you and cited your words as evidence.

i personally have examined the evidence Mr.Bukhari has put forth and i see no reason why i should discredit him or attack his person or identity as you have done.

if you have gone through his facebook page and the many articles and interviews, you can find answers to many questions.but you just cant sit here and tackle someone crying from injustice based on his image.that is unfair.even the police have not given grounds to ignore or discredit him.

you asked about untruths.you claimed that policemen dont man the park.that is a lie.

you should go through the posts and replies in this thread for you to read what you've posted and the replies you got.then you will see the evident bias and lies you are spreading.
