Monitoring inventory levels of items that are needed for day-to-day operations in order to ensure that there is an adequate supply on hand. 3. Coordinating with vendors to ensure that they meet all compliance requirements. 4. Negotiating prices on behalf of the company with suppliers or contractors. 5. Maintain purchase records and other important documents for the department. 6. Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships. 7. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. 8. Collaborate with key people to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company. 9. Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers. Requirements and Skills 1. BSc/HND degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, or any other related field. 2. Possess virtues of truthfulness and integrity. 3. Proven working experience as a Procurement Officer. 4. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market. 5. Negotiation and networking skills 6. Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software. 7. Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
