I guess when true democracy and good governance take root on the continent!

Health / Re: AFRICA LENS: Sierra Leone’s Kush Problem by NigeriaMustFly: 3:56am On May 06
This is a real eye-opener.

I really hope Retd. Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (of NDLEA) gets to read this article.

With Nigeria's very high population of youths, Kush must not be allowed to have a toehold in this country.

Human bones?

Interesting perspective!

However, there is a saying:

Yes, there have really been many complaints about the length of time, difficulty and high cost of making corrections to NIN data.

This App / Portal will simplify the process and also make it faster.

Nice one!

I've always wondered why registration and modification were so difficult - just create an App!

This is a good development.

Nigeria needs to industrialize, and as quickly as possible.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Top 10 States With Biggest Increase In Allocations Since Subsidy Removal by NigeriaMustFly: 2:58pm On Feb 25
GoodSpirit:

If you compare the purchasing power of the naira you are quoting before subsidy removal and after subsidy removal you will observe a disturbing trend. Making the increment look like a big scam.

Reports are rife that a major reason for the unrelenting pressure on the Naira is that many political leaders, once they get the monthly allocations, rush to convert a chunk of it to dollars and pounds.

If true, the ongoing very sharp rise in prices is still the fault of the same politicians who were elected to work for the betterment of the society.

So, the question then is this:

Which way forward? i.e. What is the solution to all these?

Family / Re: Help! I'm Feeling Guilty Of Ruining Someone's Marriage by NigeriaMustFly: 10:42pm On Nov 07, 2023
Very interesting thread! Read it cover to cover.

For the OP, it's not my place to tell you what to do, but here is my take, based on vast counselling experience and pure logic:

1. Women are very emotional. That woman probably met you at a time when she was vulnerable and needed support.

2. Because of your work (or other activities), you were probably spending too much time alone with her, which led to the emotional entanglement.

3. Your worst mistakes were in telling her that "she is your spec", that you "love her", and that you "will marry her if she is divorced".

4. It is probable that you currently have a good or at least "normal" relationship with her 4 children. Be rest assured: that will drastically change, if she goes ahead to leave their dad and marry you.

5. If it is true that you've not gone all the way to have sex with her, then she is most likely a manipulative person who is merely using the promise of sex as a carrot to lead you on.

6. If no 5 is so, it is also quite possible that she would have promised to move away with you to a new environment (maybe even overseas) for a "fresh start"?

7. Finally, marriage is much more than just the wedding ceremony and the rings. In Africa, it is a union of families.

Where is her family? Where is yours? What kind of parents agree to their married daughter's evidently totally inappropriate relationship with a bachelor? And after 4 children?

In summary, I am trying to get you to think with your brain and not your "3rd leg".

Best of luck! You are REALLY going to need it, regardless of what you decide.

Coincidentally, the late Omar Bongo was also accused of corruption.

In fact, between March and April this year, 4 of his children were charged in France with embezzlement and corruption.

Africa does have them!

Is it something in the water?

No oo! Not something in the water. Its in the culture and mindset of Africans.
