Masterviolence:

Russian Emperor Alexander III in the 19th century once said and I quote, β€œRussia has only two allies: the army and the navy.”
This statement, though seemingly simplistic, encapsulates a profound geopolitical truth that resonates through the annals of Russian history.
Russia is not only one of the most enduring ancient powers, but arguably the only one that has successfully preserved both its economic and military might into the modern era. Historically, Russia has rarely relied on alliances to secure its interests. In war, it has often fought alone and reaped the rewards of victory independently.

When considering China and other purported Russian allies, many are quick to form conclusions based solely on western media portrayals, which are often incomplete or skewed. Make no mistake, Russia possesses the capability to dismantle Ukraine militarily and when I mean dismantle, I mean completely obliterate Ukraine conventionally without any external assistance from allies.

However, such an act would undoubtedly subject it to widespread global condemnation. By prolonging the conflict at its current pace, Russia has positioned itself advantageously not only by capitalizing on record-breaking oil and gas sales but by seizing a significant portion of Ukraine's economic partners and also expanding the over $2trln of untaped natural resources that the Russian army is currently sitting on in the donbas region of Ukraine (which will be the largest spoils of war in modern history) in the very eyes of a notorious gang of 32 criminals calling themselves NATO, who are quick to invade small nations but shivers with the mention of Russia. In doing so, Russia has achieved a level of global prominence and respect unseen since the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

As for China, it remains heavily economically entwined with the West, with the United States being its largest trading partner and over 40% of its market dependent on Western nations and their allies.
Were you in Xi's shoes, would you risk this position knowing full well that India stands ready to fill any void simply to offer public and unequivocal support to Russia in the Ukrainian conflict?
Now, regarding the contributions of Russia's allies to its war effort, several points deserve attention:

β€’North Korea stands as one of Russia's most overt supporters in the Ukraine war. Its contributions include the delivery of artillery shells and missiles under purchase agreements and a technology-sharing treaty.

β€’Iran, though it has not publicly aligned with Russia, has transferred drone manufacturing expertise to Moscow and has supplied drones under purchase agreements. There are also reports of missile deliveries, though these remain unverified.

β€’India has arguably become the key player fueling Russia's war machine. If Ukraine were strategic, it would turn its diplomatic efforts toward India, as India holds significant sway over the continuation or cessation of the conflict.

β€’ China, which initially played a crucial role in sustaining Russia during the early phases of Western sanctions, has since been eclipsed by India. Currently, China's contributions are more subdued, consisting primarily of the delivery of low cost drones equipments and semiconductors used for missile production, also through purchase agreements. While China continues to purchase Russian oil and gas, the recently signed agreement for the delivery of oil via pipelines has yet to reach full operational capacity. Once it does, Russia stands to profit even more significantly from this war, as Russia will ramp up delivery of oil to china and other needed resources via rail.

In this context, it is visible to the blind why Putin sees little reason to hasten the conclusion of the conflict. Much can still be gained from the status quo, both economically and geopolitically.
well said as usual πŸ’―

You're a special child. You need care more than you need to be taught anything.

But

"The Lend-Lease Act was signed into law on March 11, 1941, and ended on September 20, 1945. A total of $50.1 billion (equivalent to $672 billion in 2023 when accounting for inflation) worth of supplies was shipped, or 17% of the total war expenditures of the U.S.[3] In all, $31.4 billion went to the United Kingdom, $11.3 billion to the Soviet Union, $3.2 billion to France, $1.6 billion to China, and the remaining $2.6 billion to other Allies"

So $11.3b given to the Soviet were used to buy food, clothes and armoured trucks only? In the 1940s. It is obvious you do not think.

The US entrance into the war uplifted the entire Europe, and without the US, Europe would have lost to the Nazis.

"Even if you get artillery, missiles, in fact everything, this won't guarantee you a win against a superior force, Ukraine is an example."

What do you mean by this?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Is Ukraine now outproducing artillery or missiles compared to Russia? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Isn't the superior force favorite to win?

You're talking like Soviet Union were not fighting for themselves too, them for lose become slaves to the Nazis na. We should be celebrating them for fighting for themselves?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Oga stop believe in American supremacy, the war was lost until the Soviet entered the war. One of the major factors for the defeat of Germany was their Soviet campaign. It was quite expensive and hard, due to the terrain. Transportation cost more...

And every one that has actually spent time studying about ww2 knows that the allied storming of Normandy, was simply not necessary. Cause The soviets where already on their way to Berlin. Go and read memoirs of German soldiers in WW2 and you may understand the dread of the Soviets by the Germans. And even till today Germany is still very paranoid about Russia, cause WW2 made them to know that that a very great monster which they never believed could exist was just after Poland.

If it happen by consdence you are appointed as IGP, you will have to do the bidding of Mr president or else you will get yourself fired and immediately you are gone, many would be jostling for the job

Orisirisi !

Well I partially agree with you, but the system is bad so you try to be a hero you pay the price.

A bad system cannot produce positive results that is how the world runs brother, if you ask me again can there be a just officer in the NPF? My answer is no...
An orange tree cannot give you an apple the same way a corrupt system cannot produce positive results, even if you are just such a system would either corrupt you or eliminate you depending on your will power...
Nigerians keep on sympathetically expecting good from corruption it is a natural trail, and the results are seen in our chosen leaders. Make I stop here...

Mr samurai Jack, I have keenly follow your commentary here on this thread regarding the Democratic system of government currently being practice in nigeria and military rule which some here are agitating for.

why it is clearly obvious that you are not a fan of democracy. You called the Nigerian democracy failed and hypocritical.

It's also worthy to note that in contrast to your other colleagues in the other side of the divide you are also against military rule which is commendable.

You said they are other methods, other ways government can done in nigeria, would you mind educating me on which other methods would be better to execute governance in nigeria bearing In mind that nigeria has a muti religious setting and with diverse ethnicities.

The answer is simple: the military juntas that overthrew elected officials in Africa were applauded. Even in Nigeria, some people wanted a military take over when HE peter obi lost to BAT at the PET. No one is currently bringing up any other option to the table.
My question is why is a military regime looking like the only solution to our failed democracy, while in truth they are other ways?
A military junta is not an evil thing, it is a system of government that may work in other Nations, but would lead to dire consequences in Nigeria (I explained why I think so in my previous comment).

The truth is a very few insignificant number of uneducated people in Nigeria actually want a military take over, you can take your time and make a survey. A military government would not be favourable to the average ijaw man, the Igbo man, or even the average Yoruba man Nobody wants it.
what you need to understand is that Nigeria is in a state of crisis and in such a situation even a deal with the devil would sound very hopeful
