Many religions abhore violence (even against insects), while some clearly tell you to take violent steps against particular actions (actions or statements that can show ideological weakness the religion). Religions are politically or ethnically inclined while some will tell you that politics or ethnicity does not exist before GOD. And that is the major divide. The first set can be easily used to justify violence... The second would have to be reformed into the first to support violence...
