Leyqute: I'm only stating my observations bro. I know it's possible for a team to dominate and win a high percentage of their games.
The thing is Mou "dominates" without the ball and LvG "defends" with the ball. ok so who's this and what have you done with the real leyqute? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilstjnr: 8:21am On Apr 25, 2018 |
one thing I'll say is that Liverpool have a system that works very well for Salah.
Up front, they have 2 very dangerous and fast forwards that occupy defenders and allow Salah do his thing. If you man mark Salah, Firmino will see space. If you Mark 2 of of them, Mane can hurt you...though that one na short 1.
In midfield, instead of playing a deep playmaker, or box to box midfielders, Klopp retrained or bought players with a history of playing on the wing or at number 10. So they can collect the ball in deep positions and carry it upfield with pace.
Then he encourages his 2 full backs to attack as well. Robertson and TAA are practically wingers too.
it's very difficult to focus on just Salah...and so he always seems to have space.
Hazard in that team would probably score more goals. I say probably, because although his teammates are mostly wack and haven't helped him, he also hasn't really helped himself in the last couple of seasons.
He won't have scored that first goal that Salah did. He would have run around, turned back and passed to Kante. |

Ibime: Southgate would be making the same old English mistakes if he continues the same old English traits of na me dey here first.
Why should Stones go when England don't have that passing ethos. Stones putting the whole defence at risk just to play a fancy pass to players who are not comfortable receiving those risky balls is an exercise in stupidity.
I would take Jones, Maguire, Smalling and Dier for CB
Walker and Arnold for RB
Bertrand and Rose for LB
Klopp has handed him a midfield, already coached and already have a relationship. The 3 Liverpool midfielders will start. Dier to deputise for Hendo as DM if he's injured. Wilshere plus one of Lewis Cook/Harry Winks or RLC will make the plane.
Alli, Lingard, Sterling plus 1 more for the wings. I would throw in a wildcard here and go with a really pacy dribbler as only Sterling fits that mould and you would need another one if Sterling gets injured. Maybe Demarai Gray.
Then Kane, Vardy and Rashford as strikers. This is actually a very sensible line up Let's see how they arrange in the next friendlies. Winks is injured for the rest of the season and won't make it. Wilshire too is a big doubt. Other than That, I can't argue with your selection really. |

Unlimited22: He's definitely going as 2nd choice because there's absolutely no way he's benching Walker. walker may be playing at CB if the last England match is anything to go by. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilstjnr: 10:43pm On Apr 24, 2018 |
Unlimited22: How Gareth worked this one out still beats me. Lingard is an average player who hit a purple patch that has slowly reverted to its normal Brown. lol! Lingard gives you direct running. Alli gives you technicality and greater goal threat. it can go either way depending on team needs |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilstjnr: 10:41pm On Apr 24, 2018 |
Ibime: Lingard or Alli is a toss-up that can go either direction.
Dier must go back. Not like England have any centre-back that has put together a solid season all through. Funny enough, Smalling who we had all written off seems to be the only one going into World Cup with consistent game time in a big club. forget that thing. Dier and Henderson are first choice midfielders for England I don't think Smalling is going to make it to first team. That 3 at the back is most likely Stones, Jones and Walker. Maybe Smalling sneaks on the plane as a squad player. Trippier is definitely going. Young too is going. So TAA probably has to compete with Bertrand for a seat. |

Ibime: If Oxlade recovers in time, Southgate can do no worse than replicating the ready made Liverpool midfield 3 of Henderson, Milner and Oxlade. . . with Alli and Sterling supplementing them from the wings. Lingard already appears to be ahead of Alli. Dier must play in midfield too |
