Infact, looking at the teams in the top 20 teams and the chips still left in their Arsenal, it is obvious the next few weeks is going to be very interesting.

Some interesting facts:

Only 2 teams in the top 20 has just one chip left, the rest has either 2 chips or more. None has all four chips intact. Looking at those chips, I think the most powerful one to have now is WC, followed by TC/FH (I will rate both in the same class) and then finally BB. So lets see the teams that have the upper hand in the competition:

Ten of the top-20 teams have 3 chips intact. Infact they have the biggest advantage. Apart from Youngforever, Nihilist and PeitriRico at 2nd, 3rd and 7th spot respectively, all other top-10 teams have all 3 chips intact.

Interestingly, only Ibime and 2 other teams on top-20 have no Tripple-Captain chip left so i believe the battle will rest on that tripple-captain chip; when to play it and who to play it on. With the way managers are playing this game like a game of poker, hiding their hand for the last minute, a believe majority of the managers are waiting to play it on Gmweek 37 when Spurs, Arsenal, Manutd and City will all have a double gameweek. Now for the who? That will be interesting to find out.

But is the tripple-captain chip overated? Kane returned 9pts when some managers played theirs on his double game week few months back. I will not be surprised if the same fate awaits us all.

All managers at the top-20 have their BenchBoost. So it is right to assume that most will play theirs this week for the doubles and play TC next double; or play TC this week and BB next double. So the battle lies between these two gameweeks and how to deploy the chips effectively.

Only 7 managers still have their FH intact so next week with few games will be their biggest advantage. It will be interesting to see how they use the FH effectively.

Among the four managers who still has WC, none has FH as that would have been a terrific advantage. But all four of them have TC and somehow, I still fear how much wreck those managers can cause with that combo.

I did not miss a thing. The guy who wrote the article is Jake Cohen. He's a sports lawyer that works for a law firm has represented Chelsea on several transfer deals.

While you usually point to daily mail articles to blame Emenalo(That RDM and Wanyama yarns for example), an insider from a seat at the table is telling you point blank that Marina has been running things and buying players since 2010, to the point where she was running Vittesse from London....and all before she even joined the board.

Emenalo does not have access to Chelsea bank account. How will he know how much Chelsea have to spend on a player unless he was told by the person who holds the purse strings? That's if such a conversation happened sef.

I don't understand what this means. The only thing I can read here is that Ray Wilkins did not like Emenalo. It's too soon to speak ill of the dead, but Ray was well known to be lacking in professionalism, and would often turn up to work drunk and high. I heard Emenalo suggested that he was sacked, and Ray Wilkins also held beef with Ancelotti because he felt Ancelotti betrayed him.

So I don't know what Ray Wilkins has to do with who signs players. I also can't really gain any meaningful insight from the snippet you posted. Did he say Emenalo is the one that signs players in the full quote?

Marina signs positions and style of players that the manager wants, just the cheaper version. If Conte wants Sandro, Chelsea scouts will recommend cheaper versions of Sandro eg Emerson. If Conte wants Dzeko, Chelsea scouts will recommend Giroud. This is the role Emenalo used to fulfill, except when Emenalo had the most power, he had none of these financial restrictions and still failed to build a balanced squad.

Let me ignore for a minute, the fact that Chelsea FC website identified Marina as being in charge of recruitment in 2012.

If it's roman that opens up the purse strings, then how is it Emenalo's fault who get's bought? Are you saying Emenalo will just cough, and Roman will go and bring tissue? Who was the boss in the relationship?

Also how do Chelsea scouts know who is 'Cheaper' before they start negotiating? Is it not down to the selling club to fix a price? Would the scouts open negotiations with the selling club first and establish a price before coming back to Marina to offer the 'Cheaper option'? And then how does Marina then decide that Giroud can do a similar job to Dzeko? Are you saying that Chelsea scout will cough, and Marina will go and bring tissue, while ignoring Conte to cough to death from TB?

Emenalo is a Sporting director who mostly ratifies the decision of the board or the coach. Just like most sporting directors at big clubs.
The board owns the money, the coach uses the player. These are the 2 sides mostly involved and that share the risk.

If she's involved in scouting process, it means she has her own ideas of a footballer she wants at the club, and can duly overrule anybody else.

Otherwise Emenalo is not around, and Conte is still complaining about players. How manage?

2 Years ago, I already pointed out that Emenalo from the job description on the Chelsea website did not have the power to purchase any single player.

The best he could do was recommend, and then someone above him would decide whether to follow his recoomendation.

Where the argument ended was when the anti-Emenalo crew were unable to tell us how Marina decided whether a player was worth buying or not.
