Business To Business / Cause-related And Civic Marketing, What It Means For Your Small Business. by nino213(m): 6:41pm On Oct 12, 2013
Marketing is important for every business because it
helps in making your business grow or more simply, in
making sales. Marketing helps business people or
entrepreneurs identify and anticipate needs/problems of
their target market or customers and provide solutions to
their needs/problems, profitably.
Now, one major problem small business people have in
Nigeria is that they have problems identifying and
anticipating their customers needs and then provide
solutions to those needs. One way to do that is by
conducting a marketing research or simply put, ask them
questions relating to the business you want to start. The
answers you get would assist you in providing solutions
to their problems. Most Nigerian small business owners
venture into businesses they have no skills in and all
because they heard that the business concerned makes
huge returns. When competition comes and their
customers stop coming around these businesses fold up.
For small businesses to survive the onslaught of new
competitors, there are two unique ways to win your
customers and make them continue doing business with
you. This two marketing techniques are cause-related
marketing and civic marketing.
Cause-related marketing is a type of marketing technique
were a business or company joins forces with a charity
or non-governmental organization to support a cause.
The cause might be one that supports sickle cell anemia,
breast cancer, kidney failure, orphans, homeless people,
the blind etc. You see that these causes have to do with
issues that affect people. It could be on health issues or
societal problems but they help in providing money or
funds to help tackle or provide solutions to the problem.
The company uses a product that sells well in the market
to pursue this cause. They take a small percentage of
their profit to support the cause. Let’s take Bobo milk
drink or indomie noodles for example. Both are cherished
by children, and they can support a cause that is related
to children like, supporting children that are out of school,
open heart surgery for children etc. Beauty products for
women can also support causes related to problems
women have, like violence against women or breast
cancer. I have not seen this happen in Nigeria. Most
Nigerians would buy a product because they need it to
meet a particular need. I’m yet to see a nigerian that
would buy a product to support a cause, unless it is
sophisticated nigerian consumers.
Civic marketing is one that would work well for small
business owners especially when they want to launch
their business. This type of marketing idea can make
your target market customers like you immediately
because they would view you and your business or
company as one that isn’t just concerned with their
money, but one that is interested in their well being and
welfare. This is always community based. You can find a
major problem that affects the people living in your
community and provide solutions to that problem. Take
for example, pot holes on your roads. You can use your
money to fill that pot hole. You can donate bore holes to
your community to assist them in tackling water
problems. Is it the issue of unemployment or poverty?
You can teach the youths and women in your community
how you started your small business and how they can
start theirs too. Are you a doctor who has a small health
center or clinic? You can have a small seminar event
were you teach people about how to take care of their
health and offer free services like free HBP test, blood
sugar test etc. Do you have a small law firm, you can
have a law seminar were you inform your attendees
about their rights and attend to their legal problems. The
important thing is to create a platform were you would
interact with your target market customers and get to
introduce yourself and the products and services you
offer to them. It would also assist you in knowing one or
two things about your customers. You also need to
record the event and take down their contact details. This
is the information age and you need such data or
information in sending messages everyday by bulk text
messages, emails and so on to them.
Now that you know the major difference between cause-
related and civic marketing, it is time you create a simple
plan for your business. If you can’t do so, find an
affordable marketing consultant who would assist you in
doing so. I can assist you in doing so for an affordable
fee.
Happy marketing of your products and services. See you at the top.

Business / Outsource Your Life To Get A Life!!! by nino213(m): 3:01pm On Oct 09, 2013
Personal Concierge, Personal Assistant, Virtual
Assistants, Gal Friday, Caretaker… what do all these
terms have in common? They are people and
businesses dedicated to helping you save time and
energy and as a way to help you achieve life balance.
When we think ‘concierge’ we immediately think
reservations or vacation assistance, but this is no longer
the case. Personal Concierge services run the gamut
from the routine to the extraordinary. If you need a luxury
service – limo, private jet, event planning – a Personal
Concierge can certainly get those things arranged for
you, but they can just as easily refill the propane tank, do
your grocery shopping, have your windows cleaned, wait
for deliveries, walk the dogs, do your filing, get your
computer repaired and have your automobile detailed.
With true Personal Concierge service, you have a single
point of contact, a Concierge who is assigned to you,
someone you will get to know and trust. You’ll know who
is in your home and can be rest assured that no matter
what you need, it is only a phone call or email away. And
as your relationship builds, your Personal Concierge will
automatically complete agreed upon tasks without your
direction.
So who uses Personal Concierges? A perfect candidate
is anyone who has too much to do and too little time. The
three primary groups who regularly rely on Personal
Concierge assistance are busy professionals, retirees
and absentee homeowners. Here in the desert, where so
many of our homeowners are part time residents, a
Personal Concierge is more of
a necessity than a luxury. Not only will your Personal
Concierge make sure your home is always ready for your
arrival, they also check your home weekly to pro-actively
keep an eye out for vandalism and to preempt situations
that might result in costly repairs.
Before turning your house keys over to a Personal
Concierge, ensure you are dealing with a reliable and
reputable company. Ask the following questions:
• Is this a licensed, bonded and insured company’?
• Do they use only licensed and insured Service
Providers
• Can they provide references?
• Do they have a confidentiality policy?
• Do they belong to any industry associations?
• Are they involved in the community?
If the answers to all or most of these questions is ‘yes’,
then you will most likely be engaging a legitimate
Personal Concierge company. A professional Personal
Concierge company should have policies and
procedures designed to insure consistency and
confidentiality and should provide high quality customer
service. A professional company will also gladly answer
all your concerns. If you find yourself overwhelmed with
tasks, want a little more free time in your life, or if you
want to protect your home investment when you’re away,
a Personal Concierge may well be the answer!
Do you need a Personal Concierge today? Call My Butler
Errand Services on 08122351449 or 08025479656 (or

Dating And Meet-up Zone / 6 Sexy Things You Must Do On Your Honeymoon!!! by nino213(m): 12:00pm On Sep 25, 2013
The honeymoon should be a perfect getaway for two—a time for fun, relaxation, and seduction. Yes, seduction. As the hype of your wedding day comes to an end, you’ll
want to get in the mood and celebrate with your new hubby or wife. Here are a few sexy things to do on your honeymoon.

1. WATCH THE SUNRISE OR SUNSET TOGETHER.

I know it is totally not in our culture to watch the sunrise or sunset or even go on a moonlighting, but I remember when we sat under the full moon listening to our older ones tell us stories as little kids back then in the village. It even has a romantic sense to it if you and your hubby could sit under the moon with a bottle of red wine before you'd go back to your rooms. You could even have a great view from your room, lying down lazily on your bed watching the sunrise over the oceanic horizon. Wished I could just watch the sun rise up or go down over the ocean than watch it on television or see it in pictures. Watching the sun rise up can be medicinal before you go back under the sheets, you know!

2. SUPRISE EACH OTHER.

One of you could meet a waiter or hotel staff to arrange a surprise breakfast or candle lit dinner. Most people appreciate the thoughtfulness and planning behind a good surprise. Wake up before your partner or just excuse your partner and either leave a note and instruct your partner on were he or she could meet you. You can wait for him or her dressed exquisitely and with a sumptuous meal!!!

3. ORDER ROOM SERVICE.

There’s something totally hot about ordering up the menu, having trays of delicious food delivered straight to your room, and devouring it in bed while watching a great movie. If you have a patio overlooking a nice view, here is also a great place to enjoy a meal and take in all the beauty around you. Be served like royalty while you have the chance!

4. WEAR SOMETHING SEXY.

Lingerie adds an element of excitement and seduction in the bedroom. You can put together several sexy outfits to wear for your man (although they will likely be taken off right way). You should definitely have at least one all-white outfit, to initiate the feeling of a first time. You also can’t go wrong with something black, red, or lacy. And if you’re into costumes, don’t be afraid to be someone else for an evening. Role-playing is a confident, playful way to get in the mood. For the man, find out what drives your woman crazy and dress like that for her. Do some strip tease for her with some seductive dancing. Our women would like that you know!!!

5. GO SKINNY-DIPPING.

While this might seem a bit risky, skinny-dipping is an exhilarating way to bring out your inner adventurer. Going completely naked in a public pool or hot tub isn’t such a good idea, but stripping the bikini and trunks at a secluded area on the beach or in your hotel room’s hot tub might be a delightful experience to really warm things up.

6. SEE SOMETHING NEW.

You might want to lie up in bed making love all day, but you’ll have to force yourself to get up and get out to see new things. Choose a place, and agree on things you’d both like to see and do. Create a honeymoon that’s worth remembering. This is the sexiest part of the whole honeymoon experience: traveling and creating new and special memories together as a couple. Your honeymoon should be the most relaxing and sexiest part of your wedding, so let down your hair and release all those inhibitions.

Have any other steamy honeymoon ideas to share with ? We’d love to hear from you!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Manchester City Vs Manchester United Match Preview. by nino213(m): 10:58am On Apr 08, 2013
LONDON (SE) - Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is expecting a tough match against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Monday but is confident his title-chasing side will come out on top against their fierce local rivals.

Runaway Premier League leaders United are 15 points ahead of defending champions City and victory in the Manchester derby would more or less guarantee a record 20th English top-flight league title for the Red Devils.

"We have to get used to playing Manchester City in big games and that's the case again," Ferguson told the Manchester United website. "The important thing is to win Monday's game.

"It'll be a big game for City. They'll want to come and derail us for a spell. We're at home and our consistency is there for all to see. I expect us to perform really well on Monday."

Ferguson's side have suffered a couple of setbacks in recent weeks - they were knocked-out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in March and lost an FA Cup quarter-final replay 1-0 at Chelsea last Monday - but their form in the Premier League has been merciless.

United (25-2-3) are unbeaten in 18 league matches - with 16 wins and two draws in the run. They have also kept cleans in their last six league outings.

The Red Devils have scored at least once in their last 61 home Premier League games, dating back to a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in December 2009.

One concern for United has been a lack of goals in recent matches from star striker Robin van Persie. The Netherlands international, who has scored 23 times for the Red Devils this season, has gone nine games without a goal. His last goal for United came in the 2-0 Premier League win over Everton on February 10. However, Ferguson expects van Persie will soon rediscover his goal-scoring touch.

"He doesn't need a rest that's for sure, he's a strong lad with great physique," said Ferguson. "The goals will come, all strikers have dry spells and you hope it ends quickly, it's part of being a striker."

Manchester City (18-8-4) bounced back from a 2-0 defeat at Everton a fortnight ago by thrashing Newcastle United 4-0 at home last weekend, but their recent away form has been disappointing, with just won win in five road matches.

City midfielder James Milner admits reluctantly that the title is likely to be won by United but he is determined to secure a victory on Monday night for the sake of his club's supporters.

"It will be a great match, it's always great playing against Manchester United and we're desperate to beat them," the England international told the Manchester City website. "We'll go out there and play as well as we can and hopefully if we play to the best of our ability I'm sure that will be good enough to get us a win and give our fans something to shout about.

"It's looking unlikely that we will retain our title which is very disappointing, but it changes nothing. You're representing Manchester City every time you step out on that field and wearing the shirt, so you go out and give 100 per cent and try to win every game."

United striker Wayne Rooney and full-back Rafael are both fit to face City after recovering from groin injuries, while defenders Nemanja Vidic (back) and Jonny Evans (hamstring) are both doubtful. City midfielder David Silva and Samir Nasri are both fully fit after suffering knocks against Newcastle.

Van Persie's last-gasp goal held off a City comeback and led United to a 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium in December. Rooney scored twice in the opening half hour to put United seemingly on their way, but Yaya Toure replied on the hour mark to halve the deficit. And it looked like City had salvaged a point when Pablo Zabaleta netted four minutes from time, but van Persie won it with a deflected free kick two minutes into stoppage time.

This is the 164th Manchester derby, with United holding a strong advantage - winning 68 times to City's 45. There have been 50 draws.

The first goal at Old Trafford on Monday could be more important than usual, as both United and City have not lost a Premier League match this season in which they have opened the scoring.

Business / My Business Idea. by nino213(m): 2:52pm On Feb 12, 2013
My name is Cheta Obi Okorafor and I am a budding entrepreneur based in Lagos. The following is my business idea and I need someone, who's based in Lagos to assist me in achieving my objective or goals.

MY BUSINESS IDEA.

Small business owners in Nigeria do not know how to get customers or new clients becuase they are afraid of making huge expencies and becuase they don't actually have the skill to do so. Those who know the means to do so, do not have the budget to do so because major media platforms in Nigeria, especially those in Lagos, charge exhorbitant amounts to do so.

Most of these media platforms include newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations and Nigerian owned websites like www.nairaland.com.

I have created two blogs and newsletters that would help or assist Nigerian small businesses to showcase their products and services to our viewers/readers/visitors.

THE BLOGS.

www.mybiz..com.

This blog would be a platform were small business owners (businesses with a staff strength of 10 to 20 staffs) would showcase not just their businesses, the products and services the offer but also their lifestyle. People are not only interested in the businesses the deal with but also the individual or brain behind it. They want to know how that person lives his or her life, what and how they grew their businesses and how they deal with their family, friends and customers. This platform will use every opportunity it has to inspire and motivate budding entrepreneurs to start their dream businesses.

www.enjoynigeria.com.

This blog would reveal and expose major tourist sites and attractions in Nigeria. It will reveal the way and manner Nigerians live their lives to the world. It will also reveal major players in the hospitality business in Nigeria and the type of products and services the offer to our blog visitors. These companies include;
- Restuarants and clubs,
- Hotels and guest houses,
- Event planners and marketers,
- Game reservations and other tourist site handlers.

THE NEWSLETTERS.

These are print publications (which won't be made up of more than eight pages), will assist us in advertising our blogs and bring our target market readers to visit our blogs. Some articels on our blogs would be published on these newsletters and the rest of the spaces available would be sold for our business to business (B2B) customers to advertise their products and services.

OUR TARGET MARKET.

Our main target area for now is the internet which has a vast area that covers the whole wide world (or world wide web). For our print newletters, our target area would be mainland Lagos, Ikeja and it's environs for a matter of fact. Those who make up our target market include, small, medium and large businesses, budding entrepreneurs and those who like reading business/hospitality/lifestyle news.

OUR PRODUCTS/SERVICES.

The products/services we aer offering for sale are advert spaces on our blogs and newsletters.
BLOG ADVERT SPACE PRICE LIST.

We will use pay per click/impressions which would cost N100 per click/impressions. The pay per click/impressions nclude the following;

- 100 pay per click/impression (ci),
- 500 pay per ci,
- 1,000 pay per ci,
- 3,000 pay per ci,
- 7,000 pay per ci,
- 10,000 pay per ci.

GOOGLE ADSENSE.

This is a payment system owned by the world acclaimed internet company, Google inc. (www.google.com). It costs costs $0.25 USD per click and it is paid to the website that registers in www.google.com/adsense. Visitors of websites and blogs need to click on these adverts for the owners of the website/blogs to earn money from google.

NEWSLETTER ADVERT SPACES AND RATES.

Front page/inside slip. N20,000.
Back page/inside slip. N20,000.
Full page. N20,000.
Half page. N10,000.
Quarter page. N5,000.
1/8th page. N2,000.
1/16th page. N1,000.

MARKETING STRATEGY.

We will prepare business proposal letters and propose to our target customers the reasons why they should advertise in our blogs/newsletters.

Also those that visit and register at our blogs and click on our blog adverts, especially the google-adsense adverts would earn points at a rate of N10/point and get paid when they achieve the following points;

100 points. N1,000.
500 ". N5,000.
1,000 ". N10,000.
5,000 ". N50,000.
10,000 ". N100,000.
50,000 ". N500,000.
100,000 ". N1,000,000.
500,000 ". N5,000,000.
1,000,000 ". N10,000,000.

This would ensure that our blogs take over the market lead from the popular blog owned by Linda Ikeji (www.lindaikeji..com), and the website forum www.nairaland.com and also ensure that people keep visiting our blogs.

ADVERTISING STRATEGY.

We would advertise our blogs and newsletters in facebook, twitter, linked-in, blackberry messenger and own a column in a popular Nigerian newspaper, The Nigerian Guardian Newspapers. We would also send bulk text messages and create a blackberry application (app) for people to download free.

FINANCIAL AND LOGISTIC NEED.

Money or funds is needed to obtain the following items;

- Laptop,
- Internet connection,
- Digital camcorder,
- External hard drive,
- Advertisement,
- Transportation,
- Stationaries,
- Other costs/utilities

BUDGET PLAN.

1. Laptop. N60,000.
2. Internet connection(3 months) N30,000
3. Digital camcorder. N30,000.
4. External hard drive. N15,000.
5. Stationery. N10,000.

7. Transportation. N30,000.
8. Newsletter publishing. N30,000.
9. Other costs/utilities. N30,000.

TOTAL. N265,000.

I need a total of N270,000.00 (two hundred and seventy thousand naira) only.

For more information on this business idea, please contact me by either sending me a mail on my facebook page, (www.facebook.com/cheta-okorafor), my email add, tnemag@gmail.com, BBM pin 2323F358, or call me on +2348123351449, +2347061099098.
Sports / Victor Moses, The Man Who Forgave Nigeria. by nino213(m): 9:02pm On Feb 07, 2013
This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna.
He was aged 11 yrs at the time this sad incident took place. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death, what a sad end. The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again.
He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.
This player played for England's under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea. This footballer is called
VICTOR MOSES.
His story is a touching one. Share his pains and share his courage. He had a choice not to step into Nigeria again but he didn't take that option.
When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria... That is patriotism!
Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent's death... That is Love!
On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn't defend his parents... That is faith! Moses would deliver the "African Cup of Nations" trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past... That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage. He never gave up on his country. He persevered... That is purpose!
If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we? May God bless Nigeria

Business / Re: Press Waltz: How To Attract The Media. by nino213(m): 1:59pm On Jan 15, 2013
You need to put yourself in the shoes of the media. Why would their audience care about your story? What's in it for them? Then spin your story in that direction. You should ask yourself; What draws me to a particular story? What do my clients, prospects and peers watch/read/listen to? What is the human side or the personal story that goes with my service/production? You probably know the answer, after all, your many years spent watching TV, listening to the radio, reading magazines and newspapers and browsing the internet have already made you something of a media expert, and given you an idea of what's newsworthy.

Remember, the media needs a compelling reason to write about your business just as your customers need a compelling reason to buy your product or service. The media wants to service their readers with information, education, inspiration, and entertainment. If you can walk your walk, and talk your talk, then you can dance this dance. Print and broadcast editors are bombarded with information every day and they receive hundreds of phone cells, faxes, invitations and press releases. Your mission is to make your pitch stand out from the others. The best press releases and press kits are those that have style and substance ---- a catchy, ingenious, attention-getting story that sparks media interest about a newsworthy story. These are the press releases and press kits that create the phone calls that get answered!
