Weldone Uncle, please where are you located.? And are these live satellites that you have tracked (as is)? If yes, please hook the coaxial cables up and take pictures of a list of some of the channels obtained in each satellite from "All Channels" windows, and post for our verification please. It would be greatly appreciated.

Wish I could like ur post a 100 times over. Straight out of my mind... but "vexation" wouldn't/couldn't let me focus.. The people are so pathetically pitiful; *SMH*

VampireeM:
APC and Hypocrisy has no bounds! Meanwhile the vegetable president has been in another country without any clue on his health status. FG has no moral rights to ban music videos production outside Nigeria when they have not set anything in place esp with the epileptic power supply, hooliganism and insecurity etc!
FG should first ban the use of medical facilities abroad for those in govt before coming to tell the common man on the streets how to spend their money and where to do their business.
As for the APC youths blasting its quite obvious they have to make rubbish statements in order to get their daily crumbs from their paymasters.

Yes, I have a 1.8 dish, and C_band Lnbs, just that one of the Lnb is hooked to Sony package at 68.5e so I was hopping you could use your motor to tune your own 1.8 dish to that position and see if the channels are visible on there.? so that i can try using the 2nd lnb for it. Thanks.

Computers / Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Nkdave: 3:17pm On May 09, 2017
adanny01:

1 12v 200Ah Gel battery Dekar Solar made in USA. The inverter is 1.2Kva Mercury.

My area has very good electricity supply, power cuts are usually for 10 - 30 mins or cummulatively 2hrs of 24hrs. Atleast we boast of 22hrs a day except when there is a fault locally or on the Nationsl grid.

My battery show signs of bulging which is an indicator for overcharging. I blame my inverter for that.

Good-day, please I want to ask a similar question to the member above, but with modifications; I've recently got myself the same type of inverter you got; 1.2kva Mercury, and tried going for a 200Ah "belgium" battery, cos of the price of a brand new one, but turns out second hand things don't like me either. So went back to seller, and seller advised I go for brand new 200Ah Trailer battery, because it is cheaper, but tells me honestly that he doesn't know about its durability or longevity.

I've tested it on yesterday on the following; Lounge, one 21" hunch back tv = 90w, + its home theater system = 40w + Hd receiver = 20w + one regular ceiling fan (maybe 60w), + one bulb = 11w, total = 221w
Bedroom, one 14" hunch back tv @60w, + its home theater also 40w, + Hd Receiver @ 20w, + one regular ceiling fan @ 60w + one bulb @ 9w, total = 189w. Sum total = 410w.

The battery got fully charged (4th bar on inverter stopped blinking) after like 3hrs, 30mins. (Maybe because I put inverter to 20A charging current). And battery depleted after just about 5hrs, 30mins on the above load.

Questions; please any idea on how trailer battery should function (am I getting good value for my money, considering load and set-up)?
2. Do you think that 20A of charge current on Mercury inverter is too high for the batteries and might subsequently cause problems to it early in life.?
3. I have an Hp Compaq laptop, notice it seems to be consuming energy, as when I turn off tv to conserve last bar on battery, and plug in the laptop, that last bar still complains as though the TVs were still on, (don't know its wattage). So can changing some of my equipments like tv and fan to new modern ones help increase my battery ON time Or is this the number of hours I can continually expect from the battery regardless, being a trailer battery.? In a day we see Phcn like total of 12hrs broken into 4 different sections.

Thanks.

Hello there, please what part of S.A are you located? My brother in Capetown needs a good fta installer over there, as D*tv has finally blocked even the Christian channels that used to be on public bouquet. He came home (Nigeria) last week and went back on thursday, so while here I helped him obtain the necessities for a fta installation,(Hd receiver, 2 Premium gold ku lnbs, 8way diseq, connectors, and cables). He would/might only need to add another dish plate, as he wants all his Christian channels on ku IS 7/20, and wants National Geographic, (Discovery, Channels tv, Tvc, Nta, & AIT if possible,) and then any other action or sci-fi movie channels....and Christian music channels like Hillsong Australia.

Thank you.
@ all willing to assist, kindly chip in.

Sorry for replying late. Since he can have 5e. Den he should just try and adjust s lnb to have 7e. He can try another . if d former isn't working fine.
As of 9e. He can try d 90cm dish. I do have have 9e on my 90cm dish. And a friend at abuja also has it on 1mtr dish . I think u can get it. Or just look for 1mtr dish and make 9e as primary, den 26/28e, 16e and 5e can be attached. U can even have space for d 42e also. But na work ooo. But u can't have 7e with 9e together

Thank you so very much Ismy5000. Your advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm certain it would help inspire and guide us more.

I mean dat u can use 60cm for dstv 36°e and 28°e
Den 90cm for 9e (region matters ) with 16e and 7e

Good-day @Ismy5000, please I'm based in kaduna, towards Eye centre side, my installer (a pro), intended to use my 90cm for 26/28e, 16e and 5/7e, he succeeded in nailing them EXCEPT 7e, for the past one month now, and that is one of my major needs, I don't really need the 5e, cos most of the english speaking channels are a repetition of channels i already get on 1.8m using C-band.
Please what are we not doing right.? He should be coming this weekend to try with a Pauxis Lnb.

2ndly, can we rather do 9e, 16e and 7e comfortably from my area in Kd.?

THANKS IN ANTICIPATION OF YOUR RESPONSE. GOD BLESS.

Do you have someone that will do the work for you? If no then contact me on 07033543115 so that I can do the work for you at a cheaper rate with all the channels you mention plus sport and movies. Again what's the type of decorder you are using.
Thank you brother, they said our strong Srt 4651X can not open the channels for the C-band, so I must buy a new HD decoder for #8,500 which is something I'm still contemplating. I would have sent them the money since last week, but I decided to do some research 1st.. It seems there is one guy close to the house that they are discussing with for the jobs.

In total I'm to send about #18,000 (lnb=6,500 +Decorder D-Sat 9800HD =8,500 + Cables +Diseq switch and workmanship.) Do you think you can comfortably beat this price and do a clean job at it.?

2 way lnb should be around N1500-N2000,Cband 2way between N4000-N5000. For your 2nd question you can combine intelsat903 and 22w or intelsat20 and yamalsat 402 .ses5 and nilesat7w. As for the channels you get just Google those SATs for yourself as I can't list them all. What of Kd do live in.

Ok thanks very much Oga, my younger ones are telling me to send #6,500 for the C-band 2way because I'm not at home, lol, those children want sweep me oo.. We already have daarsat on that 1.8 dish, and Church channels on the 60cm dish, but dem mumsy say they want to be getting news channels like CNN BBC France24 Channels TV and TVC news.. We live around eye centre side.
I will do as you say with the list of channels, thanks again.

2. Please is it possible to combine C-band lnb and ku band lnb on one 1.8m plate? If yes, please how can I go about it and what channels can I expect to track.?

Good evening IFAC and all, sorry I know this thread is a little obsolete, but if you are still there, I'ld appreciate your input, my younger brother has been invited for a chat with GT in Abuja, and he is a bit uncertain as to what to expect in terms of Units, growth prospects, work-life balance, pay, allowances and bonuses (if applicable), and ofcourse mentorship (if any). I was with a smaller accounting firm years back, but left, so I can't really give him all he needs, hence decided to help him ask on here from trusted people. (he is a bit tensed to think straight). cheesy
Thanks in advance.
