yawwilson: Thank you so much for this, I've installed it, and it seems to be functional with no lag, my question is; when in pro-mode, where the red triangle points to when a satellite is selected, is that supposed to be the position of your dish, to get that satellite regardless of the size of the dish.? |

yawwilson:Yes, very nice, I like the part of it being like a classroom, and I want to add that it is a class where the lecturers are in same vein students/learners of each other, and the class can/should be able to maneuver between beginners and advanced lectures/modules. If you don't mind, could you point me in the direction of the European forum, I'm a "readaholic". I would like to also sneak-peak into their class, even if I can't afford the high tuition fee, owing to prevalent exchange ratings. Regards. |

knight23: Thanks my good ppl for helps, but we spent almost the whole afternoon yesterday, with nothing to show for it, not even 1% signal quality. Although both me and my cousins are not pros, I atleast expected a little flicker, but zilch. Maybe it is because I only have a 60cm dish here, I might have to source for a bigger sized dish, maybe 90" or 1m. |

life707: Hahaha, sorry I laugh oo, not at Tstv sha, but at the cheap attempt at sabotage some competitors would go through just to discredit others in a bid to stay in business. That message that flashed on the screen surely reeks of sabotage, and in-house childish back-bitting. It only took me 3mins to realize and admit that bien sports owners wouldn't have in any way sent that message while the airing was still on, if bien were the ones who detected the "foul play" of "Tstv in Nigeria", they wouldn't bother writing love letters on the screen, they would just shut off the viewing immediately. Na wa oo, these monopolists want to keep Nigeria and Nigerians in bandage forever.? 2 Likes |

Eerekake, I will tell you what an insult is; " You are a bush man, a complete nonentity who doesn't know or understand the simple Use of English, and has anger management issues and suffer from low self esteem, immature in the totality of the word, and definitely not a social person. I wonder what you are doing here, if you cannot take simple correction and apologize for your misconduct. Take some time out and go through ur posts on this forum, you would discover (if you have common sense that is), that honourable members of this honourable thread are only tolerating you and under normal circumstances would not and should not respond to any of your requests or inquiries, if not for the love of God and humanity. Are you a boy or a man.? Are you a man or a woman.? Oh no, you must be a sissy, that must be why you constantly feel the need to become hostile to anyone that counters your opinion of anything. Grow up kid, and learn that this is not a market square where unruly humans come to display their senseless-ness." I know this my post might be deleted, but I needed you to realize that you do not have the monopoly of vulgar words, the rest of us actually attended school and hence know the meanings of the words you spew unlike your illiterate self.! Now that is an insult, and I intended to insult you, not mincing words; bite yourself.! eerekake: |

Uncle Dunka, Nothing pains me more than generating energy, only to have a single appliance guzzle it down in a matter of minutes, that was my experience with my "90w" hunch back, which had great picture quality, but also what seemed like a transformer inside it, which was too wicked for my small AE setup. Hence had to start researching for alternative visual displays also, that's when a friend in the Uk pointed me to these; https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Newest-AODIN-M9-Mini-DLP-Smart-Projector-with-Touch-Keys-16G-32G-Memory-HD-Proyector-Beamer/32807438473 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Intelligent-phone-android4-4-wifi-bluetooth-projector-build-in-battery-pre-install-KODI-NETFLIX-YOUTUBE-FACEBOOK/32552278671 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Quad-core-ARM-Cortex-A7-bluetooth-Android-4-4-wifi-Portable-Smart-led-pico-handheld/32515891884 You could also look them up on Amazon to compare prices. I must say that I cannot quantify the joy and fulfilment I've had with myself since last month when my one arrived. Is it the portability of it, or the sound when paired with a Boss Bluetooth sound bar, or the sheer ingenuity, or the fact that it's got inbuilt battery that can last another 2hrs off power watching anything on it. I know you could ask about having to have your living room turned dark just to watch tv, well, I didn't do sciences, so I can't really do justice to the latest technological components employed to make these, but I'm going to refer you to YouTube; search for "Using projectors as Tv" and you can download as many reviews on there as possible, there are a handful of reviews by MindSeed Tv and other Youtubers on projectors.. And no, you dont need a projector screen, just project straight to your clean wall. Regards. P.s; also take note of the info in below attached image. DUNKA: 2 Likes

Good day Uncle George, happy weekend. Going by ur advice, I went to see my seller, and he told me he has 200w Belgium Mono panels for me at #33,000 each, and a PMW 12v/24v charge controller for #27,000. Now my issue is that the panels are 24v, while my setup is a 12v setup, I'm worried the panels won't fit/work well with my 12v setup, but my seller insists that panel voltage does not have direct linkage/impact to battery or inverter voltage as long as the charge controller is 12v/24v. How true is the above statement and please do you think Belgium panels can match up to current day china brand new.? And are those prices reasonable for the panels and the charge controller.? .... And I stay in Kaduna. Regards. GeorgeD1: |

Turns out the Brig-Gen Ikegwuoha (rtd) mentioned here is actually our uncle, i.e, parent's immediate elder brother, but whenever ever any of us dares to apply for any uniform job, uncle would claim he knows nobody, as he has since retired and no longer relevant in the circle, simply because we don't stay in the East... Little would he have known that one of us would somehow read up his name on an anonymous forum.. *Smh*. #DaddyMustSeeThis. #GodIsInControl. #LookUpToGodAlone. #WhatWouldBeWouldBe. #ShockedAndDisappointed. Chriswazo: Sorry for delayed response Chris, dunno if you messaged me or not due to my email setup being picky and all, anyways, if I understood you correctly, you want to be able to watch the contents of your GoTv, (which is already a pay tv), through ur laptop and not necessarily through a tv set.? If yes, then just say light wave tv stick to ur google and the relevant vendors would pop-up, either Amazon, e-bay or AliExpress. The name of my particular one is Light Wave Usb Tv Stick, there are also other brands rendering such functions, Or you could visit your local computer retailers, as that falls under computer accessories. Sorry can't help you with the exact price now, as I didn't purchase mine here. But when I convert, it should be in the neighborhood of #10k to #15k, way cheaper than a 14" tv right, lol, also more portable. It aslo has Time shift functionality and recording on to local drive, and YES, it works with GoTv, have used it with a cousin's GoTv set top box in the past. Regards. |
Computers / Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Nkdave: 10:38am On Aug 13, 2017 |
kusiroll: Congratulations on venturing into AE, and please do not be discouraged by this current situation. I am not a pro, and I also encountered similar situation as you in my first attempt at AE, with same Famicare product. Luckily I met up with a more sincere family that deals in the AE components, and they adviced me to return the Famicare, as its charging capacity seems to be below 10A, hence any battery above 100ah, can't be comfortably charged by it no matter how long it stays on charge, except if I want to purchase an external charger for it, which I didn't want to do, so I went for the 1.2kva Mercury, modified wave, though about #12,000 higher than the famicare (sorry, I'm not promoting any brand here oo, just stating my own ni) but since then, I think the amount of back up time I get is relatively okay in relation to my miniature set up. I have a 170ah trailer battery, not even inverter battery(dry cell). Best wishes. |

durodee: Good morning all my good people, two questions please, any one who can be of assistance; 1. I have just a 1.2kva Mercury modified sine wave Inverter, + one 170Ah trailer battery (due to monetary constraints at the time, and being experiential too), this gives me back up for between 4 to 7hrs depending on hours of charge it gets from Nepa, and ofcos my usage. Now I want advice on wattage of solar panel I should add to the existing setup, that would provide better additional back up as recently we only see NEPA for a total of 6hrs in a day, sometimes even less. And how much would the additions cost me.? Regards. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nkdave: 5:51pm On Aug 12, 2017 |
2ndly, my big brother is setting up his personal home, and wants to start of with AE, if possible no NEPA at all. I told him about this site and thread, so he said to ask what it would require and cost if he wants to power the following; 1. Two Refrigerators, 2. Two Air conditioners, 3. A 200L solar geyser (like the one Oga George has got) :-) 4. Three ceiling fans, 5. Three Led Tvs, 6. Two Home Theatre Systems. 7. Bulbs and lighting points as expected for a 4bedroom house 8. Pumping Machine for borehole water. 9. One 13kg front loader Washing Machine. Thanking you all in advance. Nkdave: |

Computers / Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by Nkdave: 2:21am On Aug 10, 2017 |
Hmm, dear brother, Battery has been trying it's best oo, "I cannot lie for battery" lol. Over the months, I've learnt how to conserve and utilize energy to my benefit. What I noticed is this; 1. Battery can last to its maximum which I am discovering to be 7hours or so, if battery gets good charge, i.e, between 4 to 5 hours charge. 2. Fourth bar of battery at good charge, depletes after 1hr, 30mins on initial stated load of 189w, but on the 221w load, it depletes after 1hr. While 3rd bar depletes after 3hrs, 30mins on 189w, and anything between 2hrs, 30mins & 2hrs on 221w, as I have come to realize that the 21” hunchback tv comprised in the 221w load, has actually got a transformer inside it instead of a transistor, hence that 90w imprint on its back na wash. Then 2nd to last bar of battery last for up to another 1hr, 30mins on 189w, before entering into the final bar, and then start crying. After which, I switch inverter off and all electronics, and fans, leaving only light bulbs and phone to charge, then switch inverter back on, and 2bars appear again immediately, which now stays for upto another 2hrs, coming up to a total of 8hrs +/-. Thanks very much for asking, as it shows me that we are all looking out for each other on this thread/forum..and forces me to evaluate the battery and inverter performance put together. Now I'm thinking of including one mono solar panel to the set up for better back-up, as PHCN is getting "better" by thè day. In fact, at this very moment I write you this reply, PHCN has been off duty since around 7pm to be precise, and Mercury has been on duty, with cool breeze from fan and light to see my works, while the whole neighborhood is in total darkness, safe for small moonlight. durodee: |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Nkdave: 7:11pm On Aug 08, 2017 |
Chriswazo: Hi Chris, you can watch any decoder/receiver at all on any laptop at all. (Using a Tv Stick). That is what I use sometimes when my inverter is running low, so I switch tv off, and only have my 20w Dsat decoder on, then get sound from my Bluetooth speaker also getting power from my decoder. :-) You also get terrestrial channels with it when you go to other countries, like U.k, U.S, Canada and South Africa, (those are the only places I know of), but it doesn't work for Nigeria's terrestrial channels, only channels from a composite device, (decoder). God bless. P.s; so far, (to the best of my knowledge), it does not support Hdmi, hence ur visuals would come from the "old school" RCA cables. Attached is the exact type I use, and been using it now for going on 5years. 1 Like 1 Share |

LaClicKLaBenDin: Hehehehehehe, how can they come back to answer you or anybody else for that matter, when they are all typical Nigerians who have "gotten what they think they need". It is either that they have signed a Nondisclosure clause or just their typical Nigerian syndrome playing itself out. As we all know, it is mostly in Nigeria that people would knock on ur doors even at unholy hours when they are looking for something, but the moment they get it, even to pass ur street sef becomes a mission. That's why when ever I want to buy something (Usually gadgets), I don't bother making market surveys, I just go to YouTube, type in the name of the product, and surely, some "white" person must have taken their time out to make a comprehensive review on the product, and if possible, even advice you on whether to buy or not to buy. But never a Nigerian. With one other person coming on here to say that it is 1st class and 2nd class upper division applicants, that are being invited/selected for interviews, having my kid sister, a 1st class in Accounting graduate, all worked up as she is still yet to receive an SMS, talk more of an invitation for interview. Mtschew, we know the people running the country, and those who hardly get even the leftovers, albeit being qualified. Anyways, I keep telling her to hold out strong, as something way better than 30k is on its way for her. That would be my same message to you all out here feeling confused and let down by the country's inadequate and less transparent system of recruitment. God's blessings. 6 Likes |
