No the lawyer didn’t, verification mail was from the March visit. You know verification is done once so they literally verified my son through me, na for my matter most of the documents to be verified dey lol

Hi dear, good morning

Here’s my timeline;

Booked appointment for my son & I in July 2021

Got appointment for him (passport) Feb 2022 so the verification for both of us started then

Lawyer visited in March same year

Then I got appointment for myself in September to come submitted my documents as mine & my sons’ couldn’t be merged cause our applications were different

Verification complete mail 27th January

Was asked to Submitted my passport in April 2023 which I did about a week after (May)

Passport was delivered with visa in May as well.

Luckily for me my husband wasn’t asked to submit any document at his foreign office so there wasn’t any unnecessary delay again.

Dear Sis 7months is a long time to cause one serious frustration. My own frustration has began to build. Mine has been four months. I just sent them a mail today that I haven't seen my lawyer yet. You can send them a mail too. I ll try calling them on Monday too. The only issue is most times the customer service person isn't very nice. Although I called in the past as regards other issues not visa issues and she wasn't so nice.
When I dialed the embassy number, it said "for visa issues press 1, for othe issues press 2" . When I press 1, it doesn't connect. I ll try again on Monday. Wahala no too much? All these shall come to pass someday.😟

Yea, she’s never nice + most times, she refers you to the mail section. I found that responses via mail are more reliable than what she gives so I stick to mail. She most likely will tell you to keep waiting lawyer will contact you. Sigh

My husband called one of those imigration office in Germany and he was told that there has been no update from the lawyer. Im so sorry to hear this, I heard once a lawyer has been assigned to your case, whether in sickness or in health, your case will remain with him. Even if he goes on leave, the persons’ case remains untouched till he returns. I honestly don’t know how true this is but with the way there’s delays here & there, I’m moved to believe so.

You’ve gone for your interview right? If yes, check on the paper given to you for a barcode looking ish either on the top right of the page or left. The receipt that shows you paid for the visa fee I believe .

Name, first, Date of birth, visa reference I'd and passport number.


Then you can start with your body message

I never had to add all those tho. Just my visa Barcode or what’s it called & file number.

Even the gateman in your school can affect the application, if he doesn’t open gate they won’t enter, so Literally anything can affect.

There were literally some loop holes here and there. About 6 months into the verification I got a call that my brother wasn’t snapped while he filled his form and that my application was flagged cause of that so that’s why the embassy hadn’t sent a verification success. My brother had to meet up with the guy & they sorted it out. Still I didn’t push, then 10 months into the verification I reached out to the embassy and informed I hadn’t heard from them and it had been 10 months in, the next day I got the verification success mail & proceeded to apply for my sons’ passport.

So yea, I sort of blame myself for also keeping quiet cause I feel I would have been long sorted before now.

Lawyer contacted 1 month after appointment, I got verification success about 10 months + after

No I wasn’t, I just preinformed those I could. However, when they visited my secondary school, the lawyer called to ask name of my hostel, I think to narrow down the search.

Apart from the Ukrainian issue,they are just hell bent on frustrating us. They know that we are the majority. I mean FRV visa application that isn't Blue card or DAAD. If they allow us all in quickly that will affect their tax system. The tax class of our spouses will change and they will also have to pay more child benefits. This kind of puts a drain on their economic pocket so that's why they stall the whole process for two plus more years. That's how I reason it o.
But after rain comes sunshine 😊.

You made a lot of sense oo, sigh. But I come bearing good news, I got a mail to submit my passport and insurance today 🥳🥳. All I can say is please keep sending that reminder mail & ensure you tell God what you want along side😊, works magic I must say 💯💯

Sigh, it is more than exhausting. If someone had told me I’ll still be here this month & still no hope of a response anytime soon, I’d have given the person a very heavy swear😭😂.

My husband said it’s cause of the Ukrainian stuff, that it’s really slowed down a lot in Germany/ his city, not even sure which. @ lawyer, does it really work? Cause I have a friend who used a lawyer from the onset but still he had to wait for the 13 months appointment ish & times when his lawyer tried to hasten things up, he was told everything has process & he just has to wait for his turn 🥺

Please I never meant any offence but if you have followed the trend of how visas are issued , blue card holders are prioritized. Theirs is sharp sharp. I also belong to the waiting list. Or maybe it's the word"ordinary" that put you off. Maybe I should have used anther word like "normal". But if one's spouse is neither a blue card holder nor a DAAD scholar what kind of fRV will we call it? . Aside of these two groups the rest of us have to wait longer. I belong to the third group (I don't know what to call it now make people no vex🤣🤣) that waits for a longer time. I was only trying to sympathize with Babbbbbyyyyy. E go reach all of us hand. Not at all sis, I’m not offended o, im very far from it as a matter of fact. I honestly asked cause I need answers to my reason for waiting since German embassy won’t say a word as well.

I received verification success mail in January,and till this second, no mail from them. Whether reunion is called ordinary or almighty, it doesn’t make the process/ waiting period any shorter 😃.

Apologies, but why the ” ordinary family reunion“ ?? Cause a number of us are on that waiting list. Are blue holders prioritized? So we understand what’s going on.

Send a mail to your foreign office. There seems to be a disconnect between Lagos and ABH. I waited 3months for my foreign office to give second approval.

I sent an email to the ABH and my mail was forwarded to the right person in charge of my case. Immediately everything was settled AM dropped days later

Seems we’re in the same boat, got the verification success mail also in January, wrote embassy about 2 weeks ago they said they had contacted the alien office & still waiting for their approval. Up until date my husband hasn’t been contacted.

Good morning nairalanders, please I need help. I got verification complete mail 3rd week in January & I was able to apply for my sons’ German passport & I’ve received it also. However, till date, neither my husband nor I have received a mail regarding my process.
I’ve sent countless number of mails but no response. Anyone experienced this? What can I do please. I’ve been on this process since July 2021. I am exhausted 🥺
