Tips for Everyone

• Always follow the product label instructions.

• Reapply insect repellent as directed.

o Do not spray repellent on the skin under clothing.

o If you are also using sunscreen, apply sunscreen first and insect repellent second.

Tips for Babies & Children
• Always follow instructions when applying insect repellent to children.

• Do not use insect repellent on babies younger than 2 months old.

• Do not apply insect repellent onto a child’s hands, eyes, mouth, and cut or irritated skin.

o Adults: Spray insect repellent onto your hands and then apply to a child’s face.

• Do not use products containing oil of lemon eucalyptus (OLE) or para-menthane-diol (PMD) on children under 3 years old.

Natural insect repellents (repellents not registered with EPA)

• We do not know the effectiveness of non-EPA registered insect repellents, including some natural repellents.

• To protect yourself against diseases like chikungunya, dengue, and Zika, CDC and EPA recommend using an EPA-registered insect repellent.

• Choosing an EPA-registered repellent ensures the EPA has evaluated the product for effectiveness.

• Visit the EPA website to learn more.

Health / Six Pack Vs Amusement Park by NNFems: 7:13am On Apr 17, 2017
It's another lovely Easter celebration, a time to hangout, merry and jolly.

During this celebration, there is no doubt that there are a lot to eat and drink. Hmmm........ too much fun right? Moreso, your food intake shows in your physical appearance. Your looks says a lot about you, it could either make you a positive attraction or otherwise.

There is a particular saying that variety is the spice of life. As such, some ladies love to play with the big bellied guys while most others love them smart and trim. Hmmm.... you know what I mean right? The guys with the six pack... wawuu!
This connects with a lot ladies out there because most ladies crave for their guys to have the iconic six pack. Hence the following rules to getting a six pack:

Rule 1 Eat Enough Protein
Protein will help you build lean muscle as well as burn body fat. Out of all the macronutrients (protein, carbs, and fat) lean protein has the highest thermogenic effect on the body.
That makes it the most valuable macronutrient of all, because your body burns a ton of calories breaking it down.
This is one of the main reasons why professional athletes and competitive bodybuilders eat a diet that is high in lean protein and also have some of the best physiques on the planet! This goes for women also, not just men.
As we are all humans with basically the same DNA and tissues, we all need protein in order to survive and also to burn body fat!

Rule 2 Eat Post-Workout Carbs
Most people have been falsely led to believe that carbohydrates are bad and that they will make you fat. This is definitely a myth that needs to be busted!
Of course eating too much of anything will make you gain weight, but natural grain or starchy carbs such as sweet potatoes, brown rice, and oatmeal are actually quite beneficial in your six pack quest, especially when consumed post-workout. When you eat carbs post-workout, they have the smallest chance of turning into body fat.
Try to eat moderate amounts of carbs and 1-2 cups of vegetables with each meal. This will ensure that your body gets the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber it needs to function at its peak and remain healthy.

Rule 3 Eat Healthy Fats
Make sure you include healthy fats primarily from polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats such as raw nuts, nut butters, fish oils, and olive oils into your diet.
Dietary fat from these sources will keep your insulin levels stable, which is very important if your goal is to lose belly fat and reveal six pack abs. I am not saying to go out there and eat an entire bag of Planters Cashews.
I am simply saying that you do not need to be afraid to include healthy fats in your diet. With all of the so called "low fat diet" gurus out there and the huge amount of negative press about fats, it is easy to mistakenly believe that eliminating fats from your diet is good. But it is actually a dietary disaster, especially if you want a head turning physique.
By combining lean protein with the correct types and amounts of green leafy vegetables, good carbs, and fats you will begin to super charge your metabolism and turn your body into a 24-7 fat burning machine.
The best part about that is that you will be able to do it without a miracle supplement, ab gadget, and without doing hundreds of crunches.

Rule 4 Focus On Your Diet
In order to burn fat and reveal your washboard, six pack abs, it is important to eat a balanced diet that is made up of protein, healthy fats, and some carbohydrates.
Protein helps form the building blocks of muscle and is probably the most essential macronutrient of them all, mainly because your body burns a ton of calories digesting protein.
Calculating the right amount of carbohydrates to eat can be tricky, but a good strategy to use is to eat most of your carbs post-workout.
When you intake carbs post-workout your body quickly absorbs the carbs directly into the muscle tissue, promoting growth. Post-workout carbs also help your muscles recover faster, which will give you better results faster.
Many people believe that eating fat will make you fat, but in reality, healthy polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats such as fish oils, nuts, and olive oil will actually help you burn more fat than a low fat diet will.
Dietary fat in your diet will kelp keep insulin levels stable, which will help prevent you from gaining additional body fat.
The last diet tip is to include plenty of fiber and raw vegetables with each meal. Vegetables are jam packed with tons of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals which are all essential for building a lean body and ripped six pack abs.

Rule 5 Stop Doing Thousands Of Crunches
Compound, multi-joint, total body movements will promote more total fat loss and promote a much bigger muscle building response than crunches and sit-ups ever will.
Personally, I think that it is completely pointless to waste an hour of your time doing hundreds of useless crunches and sit-ups when that hour could be spent doing exercises that are more productive for fat loss.
Working as a fitness model, I generally work abs for about 20 minutes two or three times per week. There is just no reason to work abs any more than this! Here is a list of great compound exercises that you should have in your workout program:

Rule 6 Use Smarter Cardio Methods
I'm sure you've probably heard that the best way to burn fat is to do long duration cardio at a slow to medium pace. This fat loss method is decent, but there is a much better way. I suggest doing interval workouts combined with abdominal exercises.
During the active recovery period of your interval workout, perform an ab exercise. For example, if you are doing interval sprints on a stationary bike or treadmill, run for 30 seconds at your maximum speed.
Hop off of the machine and immediately perform a set of 20 exercise ball crunches. Get back on the machine and crank it back up again. Repeat 5-8 times.
You can throw in a variety of different ab exercises during this interval session such as reverse crunches, planks, etc.

Conclusion
In summary, the key to getting rock hard six pack abs is to be sure to focus on your diet, while incorporating multi-joint, compound exercises and smart cardio into your workout routine. That is the long lost secret that you must use if you want to succeed in your six pack quest.

Fashion / Everything You Need To Know Before Dyeing Your Hair (part 2) by NNFems: 11:55am On Mar 28, 2017
6. Going light again is very difficult

Although when you dye your hair, you won’t have to live with it for the rest of your life, you should be aware that, if you dye your hair darker, going back to a lighter shade is not all that easy to do. It’s not impossible, but it is very difficult to do properly and it is also very tough on your hair. If you keep on changing the colour of your hair, you will damage your hair and it could become unmanageable.

7. You’ll need to think about your brows too

If you are making a drastic change of colour, from blonde to black, for example, you may need to think about colouring your brows too. You can use makeup to do that, or you can have your brows dyed. Your brows should ideally be one or two shades lighter than your hair colour. If you do decide to colour your brows permanently, get it done professionally. It is too risky dying your eyebrows yourself, because they are so close to your eyes.

8. You will need to change your makeup

You will probably find that you need to buy new shades of makeup to go with your new hair colour and that can take some time, because you’ll probably find that you have to experiment for a while until you find the shades that compliment your new hair. Even things like hair bands and hair clips may have to be changed as well.

9. Be prepared for the high maintenance

Dyed hair usually needs more conditioning and caring for and, depending on the shade that you have chosen, you might need to buy shampoo that is designed especially for coloured hair. If you dye your hair blonde, for example, you might need to use purple tinted shampoo to stop your hair colour turning brassy.

10. You’ll need a moment to adjust

When you first see your newly coloured hair you will probably experience an OMG moment! It can take a while to adjust to seeing yourself with newly coloured hair, so give it some time before you start to panic. Once you get used to it, you’ll probably love it!
Stay beautiful!

Who sat and watched my infant head
When sleeping on my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed?
My Mother.

When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye,
And wept for fear that I should die?
My Mother.

Who taught my infant lips to pray
And love God’s holy book and day,
And walk in wisdom’s pleasant way?
My Mother.

And can I ever cease to be
Affectionate and kind to thee,
Who wast so very kind to me,
My Mother?

Ah, no! the thought I cannot bear,
And if God please my life to spare
I hope I shall reward they care,
My Mother.

When thou art feeble, old and grey,
My healthy arm shall be thy stay,
And I will soothe thy pains away,
My Mother.

Fashion / Here Is Everything You Need To Know Before Dyeing Your Hair (part 1) by NNFems: 10:27am On Mar 25, 2017
Dyeing your hair can be a wonderful experience. It can change your whole look, it can be empowering, and it can be great fun too. However, if you have never dyed your hair before, it can also be a bit intimidating and there are a few things that you should know before you do it. So, before you go diving straight in at the deep end, here are ten things that you need to know before you dye your hair.

1. You’ll need to do your research
Whether you are going to dye your hair at home or you are going to go to a salon, you need to know exactly what you want, and that is not as easy as you might think. Brunette is not just one shade, for example, there hundreds of different shades, so take your time leafing through magazines or looking online until you find just the right shade for you.

2. Trying a few highlights first is a good idea
A good way to start with dying your hair is to get a few highlights before you do anything too different. Highlights can make a huge difference to your hair and it gives you the opportunity to experiment with different shades. It’s also not so drastic that you won’t be able to live with it of you really don’t like the colour.

3. You are going to have to be a bit flexible
The actual shade of hair colour that a hair dye will produce can vary depending on your hair type, the natural colour of your hair and on what you have done to your hair before you had it dyed. That may mean that you won’t get exactly the shade that you were hoping for when you first dye your hair, so be prepared to be a bit flexible on that one

4. Hair colouring may change the texture of your hair
If you already love the way that your hair feels, you need to be aware that dying your hair is likely to change the texture of your hair. As a general rule, going darker will leave your hair feeling silkier, while going lighter will make your hair fuller and coarser.

5. You might find out that hair dyes can irritate your skin
Some of the ingredients in hair dyes, especially darker shades, can irritate the skin and cause a burning sensation and redness on the skin. Severe allergic reactions to hair dyes are rare, but if you have never dyed your hair before, a small patch test is a good idea, before you cover your whole scalp with a dye.

While keeping your hair healthy is a task all by itself, focusing on growing your hair can be even harder. It takes a lot of care, energy, and effort on your part to keep your hair healthy and growing. But there are always ingredients that help speed up the process while adding to the health of your hair.
essential for hair health. The ingredient makes for an excellent hair growth aid, and here’s why:

Fashion / 3 Dry Hair Treatments From Your Kitchen by NNFems: 10:39am On Mar 21, 2017
Whether your hair is long or short, curly or straight, every woman dreams of having a luscious and healthy mane. Unfortunately, some of us are born with hair that is dull, dry, and frizzy by nature. And even if you were born with healthy, lustrous hair, dealing with dryness is inevitable when your hair is constantly battered by heat styling tools, chemical treatments, and pollution.

1. Homemade Hot Oil Treatment

Hot oil treatments are one of the simplest and most effective remedies for dry hair. The best part about a homemade hot oil treatment is that you can make custom blends to suit your hair type.
You Will Need
• 2 tbsp Almond Oil
• 2 tbsp Olive Oil
• 2 tbsp Jojoba Oil
• 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
Method
1. Mix all the oils in a medium-sized pot and warm it. (You can personalize this mix by adding or substituting oils.)
2. Don’t overheat as it will end up damaging your scalp. Make sure it’s lukewarm, not hot.
3. Massage hair with this oil mixture and wrap it up in a towel.
4. Unwrap after 30 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo.
Using this treatment once every seven days will give you softer, shinier, and healthier tresses.

Egg White And Water Mix
Egg yolk is another wonderful remedy for dry hair. It conditions your hair shafts and keeps them moisturized.
You Will Need
• 2 egg yolks
Method
• Take two eggs and separate the whites from the yolks.
• Add three tablespoons of water and beat until the mixture is slightly fluffy.
• Apply all over your hair and wait for 30 minutes before washing.
• Use cool water to wash your hair. This keeps the egg from “cooking” and controls the smell.
You’ll be surprised at the instant shine in your hair.
3. Egg, Honey, And Yogurt Hair Mask
Egg yolk is rich in fats and proteins and is also naturally moisturizing while the white contains the bacteria-eating enzymes that remove unwanted oils. It moisturizes dry and brittle hair. The protein content of yogurt will strengthen your hair strands from the roots and add extra shine, without removing its natural moisture.
You Will Need
• 2 Eggs
• 1 tbsp Honey
• 2 tbsp Yogurt
Method
• Beat two raw eggs in a medium-sized bowl.
• Add one tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of yogurt. Mix until you get a smooth, creamy paste.
• Apply this mixture to your hair and leave it on for at least 20 minutes.
• Wash with cool water.
This hair mask will leave your hair feeling conditioned without making it sticky. This is the perfect treatment for combination hair (oily at the roots, dry at the tips.)

Fashion / What Can I Do About Hair Breakage? by NNFems: 7:32am On Mar 19, 2017
1. Everyday
For starters, you should try to limit the manipulation of your hair. Try to avoid heat styling and blow-drying as much as possible, and excessive brushing or combing on an everyday basis. Washing your hair everyday for any hair type is never a good idea; however, if your hair is extremely oily and you feel the need to wash it everyday, use a cleansing agent that conditions, while eliminating build up.

2. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
If you have to live and work in a competitive environment, there’s always the risk of stress and anxiety. There’s nothing wrong with being deadline driven and goal-oriented, but when you’re not sleeping enough, neglecting your body or in this case, your hair, there is a problem. Things may be tough at the moment, but you have to remember to relax every now and again. Make daily schedules in order to manage your time efficiently – you’ll be surprised at how much you can get done!

3. Feed your Hair
As you feed yourself, you must feed your hair. There are tons of kitchen remedies and treatments out there for you to experience and attempt for yourself. Many feature egg, which has essential Omega 3s and protein, oils such as jojoba or grapeseed, which are both light oils (won’t weigh your tresses down) that are great for moisturizing the scalp and relieving dandruff. Avocado does wonders for the hair, and is also very tasty!

4. Repair & Moisturize – Products

In addition to giving your hair, and body, the nutrition it needs to be healthy, you have to choose the right products that will repair your hair in its fragility. You want to find products like Ozone and Apple cosmetics, with gentle, natural ingredients that are formulated for your hair texture.

5. Regular Trims
It may be hard to let go of your ends. We all know the feeling of dreading those scissors; not to mention every stylist we go to seems to want to cut! But regular trims every 6-8 weeks will dramatically reduce your breakage.

Fashion / 5 Reasons Why You Are Experiencing Hair Breakage! by NNFems: 8:19am On Mar 18, 2017
Your hair`s been breaking off more and more into your brush, your ends are frayed, and one part of your hair is longer than the other… eek! You`ve searched for a MIRACLE: a product, a hairstylist, something or someone that will get your hair back to how it used to be before it got “messed up.” All of your searching hasn`t been in vain – you found this article.

But you won’t find your miracle shampoo. Everything is a process, including achieving healthier, stronger hair. If you want long, beautiful tresses, you have to be willing to work for them!

Why is This Happening?

Why does breakage occur? Well, to understand why, you first have to know what it actually is. Hair shedding is a natural part of life; you lose anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs a day. When hair breaks however, it has become so weak from damaging techniques and poor care that it splits off before its life cycle is complete. Seeing your hair break is disheartening, but the most important thing is to get to the root (literally) of what’s actually happening.

1. Lack of Moisture and Oils
Dry, frayed ends are, to say the least, embarrassing. If your hair is very dry, you might hear that popping/crackling noise when you go over your ends with a comb. Your scalp produces natural oils that keep a certain level of moisture in your hair.

2. Over Processing
A common result of over processing is heat damage. Heat damage from excessive heat styling is a major cause of breakage, and comes from over-employing your straightener, hair dryer, and other tools. It causes the ends to “fry” and change texture.

3. Poor Diet
We all have a weakness for sweet treats, but you have to remember: what you put in is what you’re going to get out! If you haven’t been eating as well as you should be, there are bound to be other consequences besides unhealthy hair, but this certainly adds to it.

4. Stress
Whether you’re struggling to get a project done, have trouble at home, or are just going through some tough times, the situation will start to represent itself in your hair.

5. Illness
Breakage and excessive hair shedding can sometimes be a sign of something that is potentially more serious. This external loss may be an early warning that something is not functioning correctly internally, and you may need to see your doctor.

Fashion / 3 Quick And Easy Ways To Style Short Hair by NNFems: 11:55am On Mar 15, 2017
Short hair can be more versatile than long hair and far quicker to style. You might think short hair can only been worn in one way but there are so many possibilities – even braids!

Tips to Styling:

• Start with wet hair, and use a fine comb to create a neat part. If your hair is curly or frizzy I recommend straightening your hair before you begin this look.
• Comb your hair forward and around your hair line and set it in place with a little gel or hairspray, whatever you have to hand will be fine.
• A trick for this style is that it’s great in dirty hair. If you don’t have time to wash your hair, embrace it and go sleek.
Short hair doesn’t need to be flat. The trick to adding more volume is to go completely crazy and then tame it back down.

More Tips on Styling:

• Blow dry your hair in the opposite direction and tease at the roots. Adding a little bit of volume powder helps to create long lasting volume.
• Shape it your way – you can either leave your style up high in a quiff, or comb it over to the side with a little more volume.
• Volume powder really helps to add shape and hold to this style. You can also use a hairspray or a little dry shampoo to add a little bit more volume into your normal, flat hairstyle.

Fashion / Beginners Guide: How To Grow A Beard by NNFems: 10:34am On Mar 14, 2017
The reasons why you should grow a beard are totally up to you as an individual. However, the best thing to do when growing a beard is to put away the razor and build your patience.

In fact, one of the most impressive traits you’ll gain as a beardsman is patience. A beard is not measured in length, but it’s actually measured in months.

You’ll have a 1 month beard, 3 month beard, yeard (year long beard), or the holy grail of beards – the terminal beard (maximum length you genetically can grow).

Each length presents slightly different challenges. For the stage of beardless to about 2 weeks you may notice that your beard gets pretty itchy, may appear patchy, and is generally shaggy.
The reason your beard is itchy is because when you shave, you are essentially creating little spears on the tips of each hair.
They finally get long enough to bend around and poke at your skin. Your neck is very suspect to this because of the angle where the neck meets the head.

Here is what to do:

1) “Man it up” and just wait. It’s only temporary and will pass shortly.

2) Apply ample amounts of moisturizer like a beard oil, or other product. Try to avoid moisturizures with alcohol in there as they actually dry out your skin.

3) In the early stubble phase (day 1 or 2) use Soft Goat scruff softener. This product is designed to help make stubble softer and more kissable.

At this stage, you shouldn’t be using a shampoo as the length is still fairly short. I’d recommend using a natural bar of soap that doesn’t have irritant chemicals in them (like sodium laurth sulfate). There are a lot of soap options out there.

Once you get through the itchy phase, you’ll get to the point where your beard will look untidy. To neaten up your look, I recommend trimming the neckline, upper cheeks, and mustache lip. If you are going for the yeard, or natural beard, you should leave your beard untouched.

At this point is when we lose the most amount of beards. Men will typically get a little ambitious with their razors, cut too much and then shave the entire thing off. Because of the risk of mistakes, I recommend waiting at least a month to trim if possible.

Most new beardsmen trim the neckline too high. The ideal location for the line is where the neck meets the head. So whatever your beard area is parallel with the ground, do not trim; whatever is parallel with the world infront of you, then it’s ok to trim.

The reality is that it’s very little of your beard that you are trimming. You shouldn’t need to look up to trim and aim to shape a nice round curve from one ear to the next.

Fashion / How To Stay Motivated When Growing Your Hair Long by NNFems: 10:39am On Mar 13, 2017
Growing your hair can be a long and frustrating experience, whether you're patiently working towards Rapunzel-esque tresses or simply moving away from a short cut. So, how do you stay motivated?

Looking at inspirational photos is a good place to start. However, you can also consider the tips below:

Make the most of what you've got
While your locks are slowly snaking their way into something long and lovely, take the time to style them so they always look their best.
Playing around with varied styles like curls, waves and different parts will change up your look so you won't get bored looking at the same 'do that's growing at a snail's pace.

Go sleek
Distract yourself from the length issue with something shiny! Think like a magpie and make the hair you have look as glossy as possible.

Fashion / How To Choose A Hair Color That Will Complement Your Skin Complexion by NNFems: 10:39am On Mar 12, 2017
If you've been changing your hair color as often as the seasons change, you know it can be totally overwhelming to make a choice from all the colors offered in the market. Should you choose to have a darker or lighter shade? Or should you retain your natural shade and highlight it with another shade? Will you look as gorgeous as the supermodel in the magazine if you pick the same color as hers for your hair? Whatever hairstyle you prefer, you want a hair color that will be flattering to your overall look.

Thus, it is important to first determine your skin tone and complexion before you can choose the right hair color to flatter your looks. Once you are able to find the perfect hair color that matches your skin tone, you'll be amazed at the great difference it makes in brightening your features. Below are few tips on hair colour that suits a particular complexion:

• Porcelain White Skin Complexion:
If you have a pale complexion, create contrast by choosing a natural-looking, red color for your mane. Avoid black or very dark hair colors if you are extremely pale; otherwise, you'll end up looking paler and older than you really are.

• Sun-Kissed Skin Complexion:
Your love for the sun allows you to wear any hair color, from dark brown to reddish. Choosing dark hair can merit you a second look because it's the best compliment for a sun-baked skin. Avoid getting light-bleached hair. With a tan, you'll easily look like a fake blond.

• Natural Tan Skin Complexion:
Most people endowed with a natural tan are born with black hair. What you can do to add a little flair to such great hair is to lighten the color to a warm brown shade, and add streaks of honey-colored highlights. If you have a lighter skin color, you can be funky by adding purple, blue or red to your dark hair. The shades will be more obvious once light shines on the hair.

• Reddish Skin Complexion:
You can counteract the redness of your skin by opting for light-brown hair colors with honey-colored highlights. Avoid hair colors that are too bright and overly bleached.

Fashion / 10 Tips For Getting Longer, Thicker, Sexier Hair by NNFems: 10:22am On Mar 11, 2017
From super-easy styling tricks to game-changing cuts and nutrient-rich foods, here's how to have the hair you always wanted, but never knew how to get.

Longer Hair:
Remember Rapunzel? Once her braid was long enough, she tossed it down to the prince and girl was outta there. Today, she'd be in trouble. Between dye jobs, stress, and styling, growing hair can be a beyotch. To the rescue: these accelerators and illusionist tricks.

In-Shower Secret
Shampoo matters! "Hair follicles are only 1.25 mm below the surface of the scalp, so cleansing ingredients really can reach them," says Elizabeth Cunnane Phillips, a hair scientist at the Philip Kingsley Trichological Clinic, in New York. Look for formulas enriched with vitamins E and B5, zinc, iron, and copper — they increase keratin production, the building block of hair.

Right Hue for You
"Hair that's slightly deeper at the roots and lighter at the ends not only looks on-trend but also creates the illusion of length," says colorist Charles Baker Strahan.

Thicker Hair:
Precious few are born with luscious, shampoo-ad hair. Steal these tricks and transform fine, limp strands into sexy volume.

In-Shower Secret
"The same ingredients that make your skin amazing can work wonders with your hair," says Dennis Gross, MD, a dermatologist in New York City. Two of his top picks: peptides, which stimulate hair growth, and salicylic acid, which sloughs the scalp, so debris doesn't block follicles.

Game-Changing Treatment
There's fine hair, and there's thinning hair — a condition that affects a whopping 30 million women in the U.S. It preserves the hair you have and helps spur new growth.

No-Fail Styling Trick
"Dry shampoo and volumizer are nonnegotiables," says Baker Strahan, "They temporarily increase the width of strands plus help them stand up at the root."

Cure-All Cut
A cut — specifically one that involves long layers as well as a few around the face — is actually key to a fuller look. "Layers create a stacked effect, allowing more air and movement and therefore fullness between sections," says celeb stylist Adir Abergel.

Right Hue for You
Fake natural-born thickness with thin highlights. "Bleach causes individual strands to expand, so they feel and look thicker," says Baker Strahan. "The mix of light and dark pieces also creates more depth — key to the full-body look."

Fashion / 10 Top Ways To Have Fun With Your Hair by NNFems: 12:30pm On Mar 10, 2017
It’s fun Friday! And we have helped to gather some of the 10 top best ideas on how to have fun with your hair from: Hair Boutique.com

Here you go…

1. Ask a friend to play stylist. Sometimes, others have great new ideas because your hair is new to them. You do your friend's hair and have him or her style yours. Get creative!

2. Change your part. If you wear a center part, move it to the side; if you wear a side part, move it to the center or the opposite side. For extra fun, create a zigzag part.

3. If your hair is short, slick small sections with gel and wrap them around pipe cleaners or create pin curls for a change.

4. Make your hair smell fabulous. Add a drop or two of your favorite aromatic oil to your conditioner, apply all over and rinse after 30 seconds. For a variation, add essential oil to water in an atomizer and spritz on locks.

5. Buy a new styling tool. If your hair is medium to long, try a super-large diameter curling iron and experiment. If locks are short, check out new liquid stylers.

6. Put it up. For a simple updo, bend at the waist and comb all your hair down and forward. Begin just behind one ear and roll hair closely to the scalp, at the hairline. Continue rolling across to the opposite ear, gathering all your hair into the roll and leaving a little slack. Secure with pins underneath the roll. Work all the way to the back. It's a modern take on a Victorian favorite.

7. Add a faux piece. If your hair is longer, try a ponytail. For short locks, add clip-on pieces underneath.

8. Give your color a boost. Simmer walnut, chamomile or berry leaves and other herbs in the appropriate colors. Strain the leaves, then use water as a rinse, running it over your hair, into a bowl and back over your hair at least 20 times.

9. Tuck it behind your ears. If you usually wear it that way, try wearing it in front of your ears.

10. Get a trim! No matter what your hair's length, a trim every 6 to 8 weeks helps hair hold its shape. It also prevents split ends.

Have a Funfilled Friday!

Fashion / -best Hair Styles To Suit Your Face Shapes by NNFems: 11:30am On Mar 08, 2017
In the spirit of celebrating women, we bring to you ideas on the best hair styles that can suit your face shapes from Cosmpolitan online magazine:

Know the shape of your face and the simplest way to ascertain your face shape is by securing hair back with a headband and studying your reflection in the mirror. Trace an outline of your face lightly on the glass using a kohl pencil or a lip liner and see which of these shapes it most closely resembles.

Shape: Oval

The epitome of feminine perfection, oval face shapes have slim proportions and a forehead and chin of almost exactly the same width. Prominent cheekbones are part of the package.
Styles to suit: The 'ovals' are unsurprisingly the most daring of the A-list beauties in terms of dramatic restyles. With such perfect proportions and killer cheekbones, there are no defects to camouflage and that inspires confidence in a radical new look. Many celebrities are ultra conservative, but these ladies have all lopped off their locks at some time. Short and sharp, long and luxurious, bobbed, layered, curly, crimped, chignoned, with or without a fringe, anything goes if this is your shape.
Shape: Heart
Similar to the oval, but the top half of the face is wider and narrows below the cheekbones to a small, but defined, pointed chin.
Styles to suit: Create the illusion of balance between top and bottom with curls and waves introduced around level with the cheekbones. Styles with fullness through the ends directed away from the face will widen the appearance of the chin and jawbone and make for more even proportions. A fringe is an option, but is best worn short and choppy or longer and sliced into rather than in a heavy unbroken straight line.

Shape: Round

Full cheeked and rounded, this face shape is slightly chubby and childlike. Having a defined chin is a definite advantage.
Styles to suit: Side partings are sympathetic. Keep hair sleek at the sides and volumised on top. Sixties influenced styles with backcombed fullness are flattering and always a runway trend. Feathered or layered styles falling onto the face are slimming, as are soft waves. Work those high ponytails, and up-dos with loose tendrils around the hairline and sides.

Shape: Square

Slightly masculine elements such as a wide jaw and chiseled chin dominate the face. This is a strong bone structure and one of the positives is that it's a double chin free zone.
Styles to suit: Slim that wide jaw with long styles incorporating chin length layers. Make it a middle or slightly off centre parting. Fringes focus attention on the eyes and cheekbones - opt for longer broken up full ones or wispy half fringes. Textured bob cuts which fall onto the face and relaxed waves effectively disguise the widest points of the face.

Shape: Long

Typical elements include a high forehead, narrow bone structure and long well defined chin.
Styles to suit: Shorten the face with a curly bob or a mid-length or long style with layers at eye and cheekbone level to create texture. A side parting creates an illusion of width. Fringes, curls and flicks all work beautifully.

Fashion / For Men: 5 Ways To Prevent And Treat Razor Burn by NNFems: 12:07pm On Mar 07, 2017
Razor burn is caused by shaving improperly (yep, there’s an optimal way to shave) and results in anything from a bit of sensitivity to a mild rash to painful bumps.

Since prevention is always better than the cure, here are five ways to shave like a boss b and discourage razor burn.
Start With A Clean Razor (And Skin). Obviously, don’t shave with a rusty razor. And certainly start with clean skin. Above that, though, you shouldn’t keep your razor in the shower; the humidity breeds rust and questionable bacteria. You should try to replace your razor as often as possible, ensuring that it glides across your skin evenly. Also, keeping your razor clean helps to make it last longer. Just rinse it with hot water after every shave.

Shave WITH The Grain. My entire life, I thought I was supposed to shave in the opposite direction of hair growth. I don’t know who started this rumor, but it just makes the most sense, doesn't it? Well, in order to prevent razor burn, you’re going to have to suppress your instincts and shave with the grain. Even though it will help you achieve the closest shave, shaving against the grain causes irritation.

Use A Shaving Gel. While it’s easy to reach for the nearest bar of soap or just shave with plain water like you don’t have a care in the world, it’s not advisable. Using a moisturizing shaving gel/foam (or even shaving oil) is the way to go. Not only does it feel better, it really does help prevent razor burn. The best kind of shaving gel is the men’s kind that starts out as a simple gel and foams and foams the more you rub it in. Man, I love that stuff.

Avoid Shaving Too Efficiently. The temptation to shave and shave and shave over an area is sometimes overwhelming. As with shaving against the grain, it just seems more efficient. Shaving over a specific area more than twice is a no-no. Try to keep the strokes to a minimum, which should be easy enough to accomplish if your razor is sharp. You should also avoid pressing the razor too hard into your skin. Be efficient, but not too efficient, you know?

Use Hot And Cold Water. Shower with warm water before shaving to soften your leg hair. Then, once you're done, rinse the shaved area with cold water to prevent razor burn. The cold water ensures that your skin is nice and tight and prevents any ingrown hairs from forming. It also rules out any bumps that are caused by heat.
