Popular Nigerian rapper, Erigga has taken a swipe at Pulse Nigeria for not recongnizing him on their 2019 top rappers list.

Following the release of the list, the rapper took to the comment section to attack the media house as he pointed out that he was supposed to be on the list.

Responding to a question on the social media app, the young lady revealed that her brother, who had claimed he was gay, raped their young sister while drunk.

The Twitter user who is South African then went on to say that her sister committed suicide after their mother refused to believe her after the case ended up in court.

‘After all these years my brother claimed he is gay but on the 1st of December, he just raped my young sister when he was drunk and my young sister just committed suicide yesterday, cause my mother didn’t believe what she said in court. My family is slowly getting destroyed’

A policeman attached to the Igando Police Division has been shot dead by his colleague said to be a mobile policeman. It was gathered that the killer cop shot into the air to disperse the crowd, killing his colleague and injuring a ride-hailing motorcyclist in the process. It was gathered that a police team from the division had mobilised to a section of the road around 4:00pm on Saturday to arrest motorcyclists plying prohibited routes and riding against traffic. It was learnt that trouble started when the team arrested a commercial motorcyclist (popularly known as okada rider) for allegedly breaking the traffic rule. The rider was said to have resisted arrest and struggled with the policemen, who wanted to seize his bike. In the ensuing altercation, a crowd, who believed the policemen wanted to extort the rider gathered and started hurling objects at them. An eyewitness, Kunle Gbadamosi, said the armed mobile policeman cocked his gun and shot into the air, resulting in his colleague’s death. He said, “I was on a bus en route to Igando from Iyana-Iba when I chanced on the incident. It caused traffic and I decided to alight from the bus. I saw a policeman lying lifeless on the floor. There was confusion everywhere. “I learnt that some policemen were trying to arrest motorcyclists riding against the traffic and on prohibited routes. One of the motorcyclists they were trying to arrest resisted and his co-riders rallied round him because they felt the policemen wanted to extort him. “One mobile policeman, who was trying to assist the policemen to get out of the situation, cocked and fired into the air to disperse the crowd. He shot and killed a policeman in the process.” A police source, who is privy to the crisis, said the motorcyclist refused to let go of his bike knowing that he might not get it back. The source said, “Usually, when such a motorcycle is seized, it will be taken to the task force office and the owner won’t be able to get it again. So, the motorcyclist fought to retain his bike and he got support from a crowd. “While he was struggling with the policemen, the crowd started pelting them with objects. The mobile policeman fired a gunshot to chase them away but unfortunately, the bullet hit his colleague and another motorcyclist driving against traffic. The policeman died on the spot but the rider was rushed to a hospital. He was injured in the leg.” It took a reinforcement led by the Divisional Police Officer of Igando Police Station, CSP Taiwo Kasumu, to restore normalcy to the area. Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bala Elkana, said the command had launched a manhunt for the motorcyclist, who fought with the police team. He said, “Our policemen on enforcement on the ban of okada on some prohibited routes in Lagos arrested two motorcyclists – an O’Pay rider and an okada rider, who is an OPC (Oodua Peoples Congress) member. He (the OPC member) was struggling with the team and mobilised people to attack them. “While that was going on, the team and a mobile policeman with them were under serious threat. One of those people pushed the mobile policeman and he cocked his rifle. Unfortunately, he killed his colleague and injured a motorcyclist. We have commenced investigation into the matter.”

Nigerian winger, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji on Saturday scored for Arsenal in their 3-2 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in an Under 18 Premier League Cup fixture.

Mazeed Ogungbo scored the first goal of the match for Arsenal after 21 minutes but goals from Horlock, Lonsdale and Zimba gave Blackburn Rovers a 3-1 lead.

However, Butler-Oyedeji pulled a goal back for the young Gunners in the first minute of second-half stoppage time.

Butler-Oyedeji, who has been impressive for Arsenal so far this season, has featured in ten matches for the club.

The youngster scored his first goal for the club last weekend in their 2-2 draw against North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

He will hope to lead Arsenal to victory when they take on Chelsea in November in their next U18 Premier League Cup fixture.

Two young footballers were struck down by lightning (Thunder bolt) during a football match in Jamaica over the weekend.

According to reports, player from Wolmer’s Boys’ School were in action against Jamaica College at the Stadium East field in Kingston when the footballers collapsed.

Loop News reports that Wolmer’s were leading 2-1 in the second half when the bolt hit that caused four players to fall to the floor.

JC player Terrence Francis and Wolmer player Dwayne Allen were both rushed to University Hospital in West Indies for observation.

According to local outlets, Francis was stretchered off the field after he failed to respond to treatment and another of his teammates Nickache Murray was later admitted after “complaining of chest pains”.

The Jamaica Gleaner added that he was held overnight after The Inter-Secondary Schools Association said tests were done and “ECG showed irregularities.”

The ISSA later revealed that Allen has since been discharged from hospital while Francis has shown “significant improvement,” and is now in a stable condition.

Ian Forbes, team manager of Jamaica College, told the Jamaica Observer that Murray has now been discharged.

Footage of the shocking incident is now doing the rounds on social media which shows two players drop and clutch their heads after lightning strikes.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday departed Nigeria for Saudi Arabia.



Buhari departed Nigeria from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and was disclosed by his Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie via her Twitter handle.



According to Onochie: “President @MBuhari departs for an official trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), to attend the Economic Forum of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh. Safe Journey Mr. President.”



Buhari, who recently returned from a three-day trip to Russia will attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative, FII.



Garba Shehu, the President’s spokesman who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, said that the event was organised by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund, PIF.

President Muhammadu Buhari has cautioned officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force against harassing young people in their bid to arrest ‘Yahoo criminals.’



Buhari handed down this warning in his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers on Monday in Lagos.



The theme of the retreat is, ‘Repositioning the Force for the Challenges of Effective Policing in the 21st Century.’



Represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Buhari said the service the Police Force rendered was one Nigerians could not do without, as it was the closest to the grassroots.



According to him, there are police stations everywhere and the police above every other service represent law and order to the average Nigerian.



“Which is why the police cannot escape public scrutiny and sometimes criticism; Nigerian people old and young want our Police force to be better and to do better; they want to be even prouder of your service than ever before.



“This is why in some of our urban areas we want to see more compliance with the rule of law and in dealing with Nigerians.



“Recently many civil society groups have complained about the arrest of young men and women just because they look successful and are carrying laptops.



“Yes we must apprehend yahoo criminals but we cannot harass young men and women on the streets and in taxis most of whom are merely going about their legitimate businesses.



“There are also cases of extra judicial killings and injuries; misuse of weapons and excessive use of force by some members of the force.



“ This sort of conduct by a few bad police officers must stop; and it is the duty of you senior and strategic leaders of the Police force to ensure that impunity of any kind is discouraged and punished where it is found.’’



Buhari said that the Nigeria Police force was one of the proudest National assets as it was the largest police force in Africa.



He said that the force had some of the best trained and best educated men and women.



The president said that Nigerian policemen had served everywhere locally and internationally with outstanding results.



“The Nigeria police force led police peace keeping activities in Congo, Namibia,Angola,Western Sahara,Somalia , Liberia, Sierra Leone, Bosnia Herzegovina , Croatia, Afghanistan, Kosovo, East Timor.

“In the course of duty so many have paid the supreme price; while fighting off robbers, kidnappers and other criminals many have been maimed for life.’’



He said that special trainings were being organised for the Special Units of the Police including the Police Mobile Force, Special Forces, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Robbery detachments, Anti-Kidnapping Squads and the Criminal Investigation.



The president said that resources had been put into acquiring and deploying electro-muscular disruption technology-based weaponry which is commonly known as Taser or Stun Guns for low-risk police operations.



According to him, the Federal government has facilitated the passage of the Police Trust Fund (Establishment) Act, which has since assented.



“ I understand that the Minister of Police Affairs is now working closely with the Inspector-General of Police to ensure the smooth take off of the Fund.



“Furthermore, our effort in embracing community policing as a national security strategy is also informed by the need to close the trust gap between the Police and the citizens, build partnership and strengthen collaboration with communities towards addressing prevalent security threats.



“We have made steady progress in this regard. An important part of the strategy is to recruit new personnel from within local governments and ensure that after training such new police officers remain within their local government. Policing must as much as possible be local.



“It is also within this context that the Federal government approved the recruitment of 10,000 junior cadre officers into the Nigeria Police on an annual basis.



“Beyond this, we shall continue to support the leadership of the Nigeria Police in their personnel capacity development programmes at the various Police Training facilities.



“All these internal security initiatives will of course remain ineffectual if the personnel at the strategic level of policing in Nigeria lack the optimal professional capacity to drive the strategies,’’ he said.



Earlier in his welcome address, the Inspector General of Police (IG-P), Mohammed Adamu, said that constant engagement of strategic managers and consistent training and retraining of personnel was crucial for effective policing.



The participants comprised all commissioners of police, Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Deputy Inspectors General of Police.
