TV/MoviesRe: My Oga At The Top. This Is Not Professional Jornalism By Channels Tv by noperson: 12:57am On Mar 23, 2013
I totally agree with the person that started this trend. It was really unethical of the presenters of the program to harass the commandant as they did. The Channel's trio were a disgrace to the profession which requires that jornalism should be neutral and only report the facts. The trio were arrogant, cynical and outrightly rude. The commandant is merely a representative of his boss, whoever that is and i believe his bosses should be asking for an apology from the management of the TV station instead of putting the man on suspension. If they wanted good representation, they should have sent the department's PRO as that is what the person's position is for. The commandant is merely a typical representation of what most people in his age bracket would be. The man does not know what the website is because he has no business with it. He should have just simply answered that he would find out and get back to them. The man does not use the website, so there is every possibility that he does not know what it is. If they had asked the man what bank his salary is paid, believe me the man can tell you the answer even in his sleep. The civil service of nigeria is just a place that is full of things like this. The question should be how did the man get to such a position in the first place. He probably rose through ranks and years of service. If he was a graduate, he would have given a smarter answer than what he did. The man was right to say, his oga at the top knows better.
He does not know the employment procedure because he does not have the privilege or right to employ people. This process is done at the headquaters and all the man knows is that people are been posted to his command. The stages the employment goes through is not his department or portfolio. He might influence his candidate to get the position which is what typically happens in nigeria.
FamilyAm Not Stone-hearted by noperson(op): 4:51pm On Mar 22, 2013
There was a heated argument in my office today and some of my co-workers think am stone hearted. Please help me judge this case and see if you agree with them. It’s a story of fifteen years but I will try to summarize it.

Ogheneveta was born in the United States and the last of four children. She has three brothers. Her father had always wanted a baby girl and had almost given up hope after the third boy. Her birth was a bundle of joy for her parents and she was the apple of her father’s eyes. Her parents bought a plot of land for each child but Veta got two plots being the only girl. Her parents wanted her to have a taste of Nigeria so after her master’s degree in civil engineering from Reutgers University, New Jersey, she went to Nigeria for NYSC. She served in Ebonyi state where she met Patrick. They got married two years after and she made arrangements for Patrick to come over to the US. Patrick read philosophy from LASU, so getting a job in the US was not easy. He didn’t want to go back to school and didn’t want to do odd jobs either. They decided Veta who had a good job at Turner construction in Washington, DC would buy cars and Patrick would ship them to Nigeria, along with other things in the container to make money. Before long, business was really booming, but the only dark cloud in their lives was the absence of any child. Though they went to the best hospitals in the US, the reports were the same, ‘nothing was wrong with either of them’. Years went by and Veta thought they should adopt children but Patrick would have none of it. He said God is the one that makes babies. With prayers and fasting, nothing happened.

After five years of marriage, Veta was really worried and Patrick told her to exercise her faith by building a house on one of her lands and use the name she would want to name her son on the house. She thought it was a weird idea but she went ahead with it to show her faith. They built a twin duplex at Opebi, Ikeja and rented out the front duplex, leaving the back duplex for themselves, since Patrick went to Nigeria frequently to clear the containers and sell the cars and they both came home every December for Christmas. Two years later, still no children and Veta was desperate than ever. She decided to go for in-vitro fertilization. Patrick didn’t want any test-tube baby, said he didn’t marry her for kids and if God won’t give them any kids then so be it. Another leap of faith was to build the second house and name it after the daughter she would want to have. The plot at Ogudu was developed with four flats of three-bedroom each and it was rented out. Another seven years went by and Veta would not take it anymore. Patrick brought up the idea of the in-vitro and they both went for it. She got pregnant at the first insertion but because she was already forty years old, she was at high risk. She was able to work from home throughout her pregnancy and gave birth to twins named Patience and Patrick Jr. Patrick could not hide his joy and his mother was invited to help take care of the kids. Three months after the birth of the twins, Patrick had to come to Nigeria to clear the three containers that were at the port.

Veta was expecting his call to say he was in Nigeria but the call she got was from Patrick’s brother that Patrick was involved in an accident and was in critical condition in the hospital. Veta took the next available flight to Nigeria to be by his side. She left the twins with her mother-in-law and her parents. She got to the hospital only to be told that Patrick passed away one hour before her arrival. That was the biggest blow she would ever receive in her life, Patrick was the most loving and caring man she had ever known and now that they have the twins after fifteen years of marriage was as life’s way of been grossly unfair.
Veta stayed back for the funeral ceremony and Patrick’s mother could not make it for the funeral as Veta and Patrick had filed for her green card and her interview at the immigration office was the same day as her son’s funeral, but she came down the day after. Patrick’s family called for a family meeting shortly after the funeral to discuss. It was at the meeting that Veta found out that Patrick had another woman in Nigeria and she had two kids for him. The boy was a replica of Patrick, so the paternity cannot be disputed. The most shocking aspect of the revelation was that the kids were actually named after the names Veta had picked out years earlier for the kids she had hoped would have in the future. The boy was ten years old and the girl was seven years old. It became glaring that Patrick had been leaving a double life and the other woman had been living in one of their flats at Ogudu which Patrick claimed was a tenant.

The next blow came when Patrick’s family said the houses belonged to the other woman’s children since the documents were in their names. Arguments started and tempers flared but they succeeded in sending Veta out of the house. Patrick’s mother too supported the family members that the houses should go to the other woman and her children. Veta called her parents in the US and they told her to leave everything and return to the US. She had since returned to the US, she is still battling with depression and high blood pressure. Nothing seems to be real anymore. Her mother has practically moved in with her to help take care of the twins as she has been a complete wreck since she came back from Nigeria.

The immigration informed her last week of their need for more supporting documents from her for the petition for Patrick’s mother green card. Her brother told her not to send any more documents to the immigration on Patrick’s mother’s behalf. Her father was just going through his safe yesterday and came upon the C of O (certificate of occupancy) for the lands he bought in Nigeria. He realized Veta’s C of O of her lands are still with him. The blueprint and papers from the urban and regional planning office are in Patrick’s children’s name but the C of O and receipt of purchase are in Veta’s maiden name and in her father’s possession.

Am of the opinion that she should sell the land to whoever she wants as battling Patrick’s family in court can lead to them using charms on her besides her parents don’t want her to have anything to do with Patrick’s people again. I also support her brother that Veta should not send any documents on behalf of Patrick’s mother. Let the petition be denied and have her sit her butt in Nigeria. Some of my co-workers think am harsh in my judgment, please what would you do if you were in her shoes?

Klinee: if u dnt knw it,just knw it now.many pple were anxiously waitin 2 see those pple who ar gay physcaly 2 kill but dey dnt see dem,of which am 1 of dem.we only hear stories but we dnt see.if u doubt it jost went 2 onitsha main market and say dat u ar a gay,let me knw weda u wil come back alive.all dis gay talk u pple most talk here is wat make pple feel relax abut gay.if doubt it try it publicly u wil see by urself.and no rich guy dat com nd pick any guy in university,it only u dat dey pick .tunda fi.re u, mu.mu, eidiot, animal, u wil die.
If u claim to be one of the people waiting to kill gay guys, then you must also be among the jobless people with no ambition or dreams cos if you ve a job or you are aspiring to be someone in life, you would be too busy making your life better than waiting time lying in wait for gay poeple.

I was see that you are as narrow minded as you write. U have never within the four walls of a university as a student, so u cant know or even begin to imagine what goes on there. Homosexuality has been in existence way back before u were even born. If u studied history or even read the bible, u will know that homosexuals have been in existence. Read Gen 19: 1-6 (NIV), the famous story of sodom gomorrah and its destruction based on their immorality. Even the angels God sent to destroy them were going to be raped by the people. So sitting in your narrow mind and saying it is a western thing is all nonsense. When God was ready to deal with people of sodom and gomorrah, he did not need humans to crucify or condemn them. He sent his angels down to do the work. Face your own sins and put your time to productive things.

efosanice: but honestly, i don't think people threaten to kill gays in Nigeria, just saying.
I believe Nigerians are just hypocrites. It is only those that get caught that they start condemning. "Everybody na thief, na person wey dem catch, people dey call barawo". U need to go to Nigeria universities to see rich guys coming at nite to pick up male students. It has even been reported that they make more money on the runs than aristo babes. Everybody is entitled to his/her own sexuality. If someone decides to be gay, it is the person's sexual preference, let God be the judge as we all have our individual sins. Lets worry about our lives than condemning others.

coogar: so you know this guy from his early years?
please tell us more about him. where did he live? which school? what was his teenage years like? was he abused as a child? sodomised by pedophilēs? how does one change from a soldier of God to a flaming faggöt overnight?
he is or would say was a very good friend of mine. We both went to unilag and he used to live at mushin area. We have long lost touch. He is actually a very nice guy and very funny. Always willing to help others. Didn't know he was gay, I just thought he acts feminine cos he has a lot of sisters. I used to mock him about the way he walk, talked and carried himself. Making jokes that he should have come to the world as a lady. I was really surprised when I was told he went on air in 2004 to openly declare he is gay. I wish him all the best in life. Saw the YouTube video today, demola as we call him is still the same person I used to know. His voice has not changed neither has he added any flesh, still as lepa as always.

The irony of it all was that he was as lonely as a forgotten pillar and failed to admit for there was no woman in his house or he being in a relationship only the regular strings of one night stands.
“This your proverb strong o” Gboye replied.
“What did you expect, some kind situation go make you go local.
“Shiezie bro, I think you should just make him in charge of all your affairs in naija so that he can also fend for himself and his people, then we see how it goes from there like the house you are building plus the cars you wanna ship to that dealer”
“That one make sense oh! But I will think about it”, Gboye answered.
“Shiezie men! make you dey there dey think the matter cos for me i get some kpomo matters that has to be addressed really long”, Deji replied
“Chai, you no wan settle down”, Gboye chided smiling knowingly.
“See black pot calling kettle black, you wey dey do your own undercover...no worry one day your ashiri go soon tu and the world go see you as i know you”
“Anyway, see ya boy” Deji said bringing the conversation to an end
“Bye”, Gboye said laughing and the phone line went dead.

Teni walked about in Ojo’s one room apartment panting angrily from Ojo’s continued hesitation in doing the deed. He stood akimbo in front of Ojo who sat face down staring at no specific point on the faded rug on the floor. Teni had envisioned how he was going to party with Kemi and Tara in the newest nite club in town making sure that everyone knew they have arrived. He wasn’t going to let anyone cramp his style now that he was close to achieving one of his dreams; Ojo had to have a conscience attack now but he didn’t have an attack when they spent the first round of money his Brother sent. His irritation grew like bile from him stomach and he sincerely felt like bashing him on the head with a pestle.
He had known Ojo since childhood and he has always being this self-righteous quiet guy and he was branded the crazy and naughty one. I guess that was why the relationship lasted this long but at this point Ojo’s face looked like the devil to him who must be defeated.
“Ojo stop thinking too much about this, didn’t you enjoy all the outings and the babes I arranged for you?” Teni sounded convincing.
“Even the guys now call you sir or big boy after all this while that we have been considered underdogs now looked at us”.
“Opportunity comes but ones and life is too short, na ones man dey die o! you gats to choose your part o”, Teni chided.
“Oooooooh Ten ten! Am still kinda jittery about the money we spent and now you are still telling me to continue, how do I pay or make up for the one I spent”, Ojo asked shaking his leg uncomfortably in hesitation.
“Ojo calm down, abi he is still sending cars then you can offset the ones you’ve spent from the gain you make from those”
“Trust me guy! you need to loosen up and enjoy this life or train go leave you go after all your brothers they abroad dey flex, dem leave you to do the omo ise work”,
“How you go dey talk like that Ten ten!”, Ojo fired back feigning an angry look.
“Dey dere, dey fall your hand make all the small boys way we wear napkin pant use us sweep street, even bible talk say sharp men taketh by force”, answered Teni.
“Ah ah teni, this one na bible remix o”,
“The world sef done turn remix, you go ahead and make arrangement make I call the girls to prep up”, as Teni scurried outside leaving Ojo by himself.

“Gboyega, cool down. I am talking to you as an elder and whatever we see sitting down you young people can’t see it even standing”, uncle Yomi interjected.
“Uncle, is that how we are going to live this life in this family, i send money and my younger ones squander it thinking they have a brother that have a money factory abroad. I sweat for my money oo!” Bro Gboye answered back.
The conversation went back and forth until bro Gboye concluded that he would take one child from each of his father’s other wives abroad so they too can fend for their own section of the family. With that, uncle yomi seemed to have calmed down obviously acquiescing to the decision and nodding his head in agreement.
I walked over to the centre table and began to clear the plates of peppered fried meat that uncle Yomi had demolished with some bottles of big stout. He picked on his yellow teeth with the toothpick i gave him and brother Gboye just sat reclined on his favourite chair in front of the 60 inch plasma TV.
Uncle Yomi stood up and made a point of dragging his feet to the door, brother gboye who was deep in thoughts didn’t notice when uncle Yomi stood up and was planning to leave till he heard him spoke.
“Gboyega! am on my way now, you know i need to get to my shop before those boys steal my money since we barely have customers these days and my kids need to feed” said uncle Yomi.
“Okay, wait a minute! Let me get you transport fare”. He walked into his room and came back with a bundle of five hundred naira notes in his hand. “Uncle take this twenty thousand naira and greet your wife and kids for me”.
“Ahhh! Gboyega God will bless you, omo daada! Your enemies will all drop dead”, uncle Yomi said grinning like an old squirrel.
“Amen! Uncle Yomi....bye bye”,
“Bye bye my good son, God bless you”, uncle Yomi replied.

The following week brother Gboye travelled back to the United States and began preparing travel papers for Tosin the first son of the second wife to go over to Germany and barely five months after, Muyi the third wife’s son was approved visa to Spain. He began working on the papers of the fourth wife’s son Ojo to go to Germany and join Tosin. Ojo was the reserved and intelligent one amongst all iya Biliki’s three kids. Ojo was refused schengen visa thrice and UK visa twice. Bro Gboye was perplexed as to why this was happening to Ojo as every other person’s papers were approved at the first application. He called Uncle Deji, his long time friend who had just relocated back to Nigeria after spending 30years in Germany.
“Deji, I don’t know what is happening with Ojo’s case o! It took less than 15months to get Tosin and Muyi’s papers through and they are both in Europe now” Bro Gboye lamented on the phone. “Sebi na your place Tosin even stayed for his first few months before we were able to arrange a place for him?” “Abi Ojo case wan become guguru idi esu oo!”
“Shiezie! You mean Ojo was refused again?” “You know since I returned, I have been trying to settle down, I thought since you said you would send him to UK, I don removed my mind from there”
“O boy! I tire ooo! Iya Biliki don go tell the whole world say i no wan take her pikin come abroad!”
“That woman no go go siddon for somewhere?” Uncle Deji was getting upset.
“All the money you have spent on papers and visa application, how much she contribute?”
“Shiezie! Boy, na you dey listen”
“Better bone her side!” “After all, you have tried for two other ones, so nobody can say you were just scoping them with lies that you would help the kids leave this country”
Uncle Deji was always a comic relief whenever he was around. He had the funniest and the weirdest stories about his escapades abroad and the fruit of it was 3 kids from different woman and from three different races; he said he is the perfect man as he had his kids to show that he is not partial to any race. Funny enough, he does not have any woman in his house,
“Mi o le je ki awon obirin ti ko ba mi je iya, come chop my money”
