Foreign Affairs › Re: We Hope The United States Reconsiders Its Intent To Withdraw - WHO by NothingDoMe: 10:31pm On Jan 21, 2025 |
OneOnland: Yes, Spanish flu with all the data from Spain, would be handled so very easily and fast by Americans without data from scientists in Spain.
Ebola virus from Africa would be handled so easily fast by Americans.
Do you know how biological researches are done? Do you know how they are tested at all?
And re-affirming what I was saying, until scores of America people die and their local microbiologists get a hang of it, and which may take months or even years without data from its origin, environments, catalysts, etcetera.
And my countries, you're saying? Jay. They have some common sense and are members of the WHO. Nothing will happen. They had WHO and scores still died. Besides, America says they can handle whatever comes their way. Why is it a problem for other countries? WHO knows America's technological and financial worth. They can offer them $39m for America to stay instead of $500m. It's really simple. Other countries can increase their own contributions as well to support global healthcare. China and Russia shouldn't be world power by mouth alone. They should all increase their contributions. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: We Hope The United States Reconsiders Its Intent To Withdraw - WHO by NothingDoMe: 9:31pm On Jan 21, 2025 |
OneOnland: Exactly what I'm saying, revenge over covid-19. And by the way, given the WHO's epidemiological data, they had every reasons to counsel countries to continue to restrict movements. They are not a societal organization, but public health, so obviously, they may not be always correct in social issues like the ones you mentioned above.
I don't recall this saying that goes like "throw the bathing water containing the child away cause the water has gone dirty", that's exactly what banning WHO over revenge of covid-19 is. And given the pettiness of the Donald Trump, one could often assume that his thinking would be limited to that WHO helps third-world countries and was politicized during covid-19 by his political enemies, so why continue funding it? Throwing the bathwater containing the child away.
Just should no public health crises come up in any country in the world, otherwise, we'd see how the US may prepare for it without the WHO. Maybe should it be terminal one, after scores of Americans die before their local microbiologists get a hang of what the disease is. We don't need WHO to handle any global crisis. Let each country's health department handle it from now on. The CDC and other US health organisations are more than capable to safeguard the lives of Americans. Lets hope yours is up to the task as well. |

OneOnland: Shut up on this! You don't have to support Trump in all decisions.
Who bans WHO? And because of what? Revenge over covid-19? Americans, all people's benefit from WHO as they even help coordinate knowledge-sharing among medical professionals around the world regarding infectious diseases and on various other non-popular public health diseases.
Hopefully no public health emergency occurs in some part of the world and with the likelihood to spread to the America. One would love to see how they may prepare beforehand without WHO through its networks.
Oh, a small recap. How was that Nigeria's doctor able to curtail Ebola? Because the Ministry of Health was in partnership with WHO and they shared various knowledge and practices especially as it was occuring in its origin country and so on. What exactly did WHO do during the COViD? Became the world president. Spread fear to control countries. Remember WHO kicked against UK reopening the society without restrictions and other countries followed suit much to WHO's annoyance. Are we not free of the COVID? WHO has become a political organisation and must use their own money to fund their political aspirations. C'est fini |

This will never be unfunny
And for the record if I know Trump's politics
If he's turning back on leaving WHO, He is going a make a deal, probably shuffle the leaders and make some other crazy powerplay
US literally doesn't need WHO but they need that dollar inflow from USA
Also I'll be particularly happy if Trump doesn't go back on his promise
That way all those financial terrorists in WHO and the big pharmacy will be running around
Evidently UN, UNHCR, UNWRA and all it's derivatives have also been compromised and their members supporting terrorism will be fair game for airstrikes anytime anywhere 👍 |

See an old man like him full of fear for his fellow man.
No wonder he said Nigeria should not have joined BRICS.
Must have been out of his fear of Trump.
What will Trump do to Nigeria? Invade us because we asserted our rights as an independent nation?
USA can do NOTHING to Nigeria.
As a BRICS nation we are allied to Russia, Brazil, China, India, etc, so unless Trump wishes to start WW3, he knows not to try any shiit with Nigeria.
That is how you should be reasoning Mr Akinyemi, if you weren't paralysed by your colonial fear of anglo-saxon reaction to asserting your rights. You are allied to who? Those people will fight for you? Is economic hardship what makes people say strange things, like someone experiencing mental decline, or is there another cause? |

“This administration poses an existential threat to myself and people like me,” a 20-year-old woman brandishing a transgender flag in Meridian Park tells Al Jazeera.

“As someone who is transgender and who has a lot of friends who are transgender, I get pretty upset when people aren’t treating transgender and who has a lot of friends who are transgender, I get pretty upset when people aren’t treating trans people very well,” she said.

givedemwotowoto: Nigeria joining BRICS was a very big mistake!!! Now Trump will probably punish them with sanctions and trade restrictions.
How much money have you made from Russia and China and other larger BRICS nations, that your country has to risk sanctions to join this rival alliance that doesn’t benefit its citizens?
Many Nigerians are content creators, doing remote work and using tech built by the US and the West. Most diaspora remittances come from US and the West, but somehow the government thought it was a good idea for a small struggling nation benefitting a lot from the US and the West to join a rival alliance? Make that make sense. The matter tire me. |

NikoWinaman: This is quite like how my best friend back at uni days found his wife. We were just sitting in his car at the car park of our admin block when some girls drove and parked beside us. As one of them was coming out the car she didn't know something fell down and my friend noticed the black nylon bag that dropped. When they went into the building we went to pick the bag only to discover it was cash of about 250k as at year 2,000 oooo. And that day we were broke looking for money to drink beer so you can imagine. I had already started jubilating untop how many crates of beer we will drink when my friend said we must find the girl to give her back the money untouched. I nearly craze but I had to agree with him. We found the girl and gave her the bag of cash. She nearly fainted and that was how it started till graduation and life together with two lovely kids. Unfortunately and sadly he passed away few years back leaving that beautiful down to earth lady with the two kids. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I still miss him so much and do all I can to always support the wife and kids although the lady got a good paying job. So painful 😏😏😏😏 |
