Women love to aim higher. They don't like settling for less, unlike men who might see a less privileged woman as a project to build up.
It is ingrained in their DNA, from the days of Eve, when she saw a fruit that would make her wise and be like God. |

Slimm01: Let's assume the 20% they want to share among the population is N20 billion. Then the total population to share the N20 billion is 250,000,000. Now, if a state has 500,000 population as you said, then such state has 20% of the total population. Hence, the state will get 20% from the N20 billion which is N4 billion. Same process applies to "derivation". While "equality" is shared equally without any percentage or whatever. Hmmm. |

AndroBlaze: When will the south stand up for itself?? Is it when there is another Buhari in power?
Our small and short sided leaders should insist on nothing less than 50% on derivation. States are equal yet the North has 19 states and almost 60% of the House of reps seats shey?
We should not agree. The formula at worst should be: 50% derivation- 30% equality-20% population. The north argued that the Nigerdelta only gets 13% derivative so why should tax reforms go up to 50% if they truly claim to be interested in fiscal restructuring? |

OkayDaddy: The Ibobotamus Obidients don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Even you, because the implications of this concession are not entirely clear. I am curious about the distribution process. How will they account for equity, derivatives, and population percentages, and in what order? On what basis will the population percentage be determined? Will the 20% be calculated per thousand or million of a state's population? For example, if a state has a population of 500,000, would it only receive 10% of the 20% allocated for population? |

CommonSense1967: Price will always go up and down. That's what we have in the US and other advance economies. Price is never static. Price of petrol will fluctuate depending on many factors including price of crude oil and other factors. Price is not set by any govt, the market determines the price. That's how real economy works. True. Just that the propagandists said it was going to crash to N500. We shouldn't exaggerate or tell lies to support the government. State it as it is and let the people decide. |

aycorporat: Arrest him for what specifically?
So the Church Heads cannot take half of what they dish out to people and the next thing is to use the Police to arrest them instead of leaving them to God.
So all the abuses heaped on Buhari and Emilokan, what if they decide to start arresting everyone? I remember before the general elections, most of the Church heads spewed different vitriol against Tinubu, today, he's president. Has he arrested anyone for that?
Even in civilized countries their pastors are being called out on daily basis and yet there is no threat
Nigeria is a signatory to freedom of speech among the comity of nations and we shouldn't be seen as backwards. It's the same Tinubu that has been pushing the police to enforce the cybercrime act. Many journalists entered prison last year alone. We go dey follow the government as dem wan run am. |

Earlier that same year India earned $0.120 Billion from launching 72 satellites for a British Satellite company named One Web (because our former colonisers do not have the capability to launch satellites on their own). India earned more launching British satellites that year than the amount India spent on that moon landing mission. Indians don dey push their matter for nairaland too? 😳 |

Odotech: Stop using iphone. Iphone can be monitored by paying online companies to do it after providing them your phone number. They don't need physical access to your phone to do this. All your iphone information on iphone is backed up on their cloud account that is where the spy companies get your chats, photos and call records.
Android phones can be monitored but the person must get physical access to your phone first to install a hidden spy app which shows no screen but will be running. You have to reset your phone to factory settings. If possible flash it. Then password it. Don't let her know your password and don't let her know the pattern lock or don't allow her add a second finger print. Set your phone screen to lock back within 3 seconds after it's idle. Also don't even use fingerprint so she doesn't use your finger to open it when you are asleep. If she cannot open your android phone in your absence, she won't be able to install a spy ware 100%. I thought it was a joke until a lady dating my brother did it and showed me the chats my bro was having with another lady. She hacked it straight from the cloud. See explicit chats. I weak like dodo. No iphone for me abeg. |

Asquare84: We have sales agreement, and the land is a local land. Since it's a communal land then no wahala. You can get backing from the community that the land was allocated to the previous owner who then sold to your late dad. |

Geonigga: A possessory right now matter how long it is can not translate to ownership. That is to say that a mere possession can not make you the owner of the land, you must validly acquire the land first and that is the law Definitely. I repeat, it is a major factor in land disputes. I also advised him to look for documentation that confers title to the previous ower. Without a title, the possesor stands a greater chance of winning. |
Properties › Re: Having Court Case On Inherited Land. by NothingDoMe: 8:02pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
Asquare84: I need the opinion of property lawyers here. My late father bought a land in 1992, with hand written sales agreement. however our father died last four years ago and the person that sold the land to us is also late.
Fast forward to last two years someone came and put a pillars around the land and put a big notice board with an inscription 'Land for Sale'
We finally took the case to court, and we noticed that the same land grabber is clamming that they bought the land from the same person that sold the land to our father, although we have witness which are the children of the man that sold the land to our late father and other people that bought the land together with my father.
Now, in court the defence team is claiming that we abandoned the land for more than 15 years, that is why they are laying claim to the land.
Is there any law in Nigerian that said you can claim a land that is inhabited in the bush and it becomes yours ?
Note: the said land is in the bush and no developments is there presently and the land grabber only put pillars on the land.
Secondly, should in case we win the case, can I claim damages for trespassing in to our land and wasting our time and resources on court case.
The land is in our rural town.
Nairaland please I need enlightenment. Possession is a major factor in land disputes. That's what they are trying to do by putting pillars and a sign since there's no evidence of possession by anyone. The person that sold to your dad should have some form of evidence that the land was his. Even if its by community allocation. |

Besides apart from the lodge being big with many tenants, there are numerous other lodges closby so they too might be dumping refuse there.
Why won't he put CCTV camera on the land to grab the people red handed.
Why pack the whole lodge for crime of one or two. It's unfair. CCTV on empty land? Dem go steal am before you wake up for morning. |
