It's annoying!

The NYSC uniform promises more than it can offer

1. it gives a sense of security while in reality it's just a stride to vulnerability.

2. the observers think you are a damn rich Federal govt PIKIN while you are just waiting for the next alert to clear old debts.

3. the uniform claims to offer a sense of self fulfillment and completion while in the inside is the yearning for safety and fear of the unknown tomorrow.

4. people picture you to have secured tomorrow and only waiting for service to end to start that oil company job and pull new cars, while you haven't gotten any reply from all the places you sent your CV.

Don't get me wrong!
Am not trying to be pessimistic or an alarmist,
but while service is just a year, life after service is for decades.
But when the euphoria of CORPER clouds our judgement, sometimes we slip into acting as though service is forever.

Here is what I think:
Look beyond your service year and think about life after service.
-No more allowee
-Stipends and free accommodation
-No more uniform (people would barely know you went to school after service)
-No more excuse when responsibilities show up (all those people who are like "once am done with service, I won't call home for money again"
ACTION PLAN
If you 've got to learn a skill from an artisan, do it
-If you have companies you are close to, get closer, prepare for interviews
- just embark on any value addition exercise
ONE YEAR DOES NOT LAST FOREVER

Just left first bank now. Had to go very early because people are not smiling anymore

Bros leave this matter for local guys that has never smelled embassy like you. At least your outside Nigeria already and engaged. If you can't spare the cost of coming for the interview in Nigeria, kindly make space for another person from your zone.

But I have to say, in my opinion, there is really no difference between physical and virtual interview. Regarding scammers, I believe every certificate presented (online or physically), can always be checked for genuineness from the awarding schools. People can still physically turn up with physical certificates from Oluwole, if that is the issue here. Also, as regards those still doing MSc, I think PTDF permits it, as long as you finish before start of your PhD and with good grades too.

For instance, I got called for Commonwealth interview last December and truth is, there was no way I could make it, cos I was fully engaged in my present location and what my supervisors kept asking was, "Can they really not do Skype Interview"? lol. While I (and I think, most people in my shoes), might be fully available to attend this present interview now and we would, but then, that doesn't mean the pertinent question should not be asked, which is; do we really have to travel for this? I mean these days, companies do all test and interview processes online and you only get called to their office, mostly to resume work or for admission to assessment centers (for graduate jobs). Point is, there is really no basis to demand candidates should physically travel to attend interview, not in this present age.

That being said, I fully admit the organizers have the final say on how they wanna run their show .. and we got to abide by their rules ... lol.

you cant pay through western union because you have to pay directly into the school account and i dont think form A is still works in Nigeria... your best option is to go to bank to make enquiry or look for someone here to help you..

Thank you tobzzy for ur reply. I actually went to bank on Friday only to be told that the best option is to open euro account, and then source for euro through parallel market which is too Absurd for me. Just wanted to know if they could be any other way out.

I went for the TB stuff at Diamond bank today. I wanted to go with their rate and they told me that the least available tenor is 104 days @14%. Please gurus here, do banks fix their own tenor outside CBN 91, 182 and 364 days?
