PoliticsRe: Nigeria Military Getting More Advanced, A Must Watch. LOL by NSNA: 1:15pm On Mar 04, 2010
Akuviv:
An army officer beat up the BRT Driver driving us to work this morning at CMS. His offence? Our bus driver was driving fast in the BRT LANE behind his danfo bus. We all pleaded to no avail. A lady had to stand in between the Army officer and the driver to prevent further beating of the later. He threatened beating the woman to the point of taking her to the hospital because she dared to come in between them. Infact she hurt her arm in the process. What has this got to do with this thread? A lot of our military personnel understand only one language : VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS (Especially beating up of civilians for no just cause)
you people watching no fit rush the soldier teach am lesson.

Because snow is not associated with Nigeria does not mean Nigeria can participate at this sporting events. If Ghana can be there why not Nigeria.

Canada wants Nigeria at Russia 2014 Winter Games
By Oluwole Josiah, Published: Wednesday, 3 Mar 2010

Canada has urged Nigeria to prepare its athletes for the next Winter Olympics Games in Russia in 2014.
At a reception marking the closing of the Vancouver Olympics on Monday in Abuja, the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Denis Kingsley, said although Nigeria had a proud tradition of competing at the Olympics and other international competitive events, it did not send any athletes to Vancouver this year.
He said the situation might be blamed on the fact few African countries had the opportunity of practising winter sports.
According to him, Jamaica, Madasgascar, Morocco and Ghana sent athletes to the games.
He said, “This, to me, is somewhat surprising. The Winter Olympics would seem to be one of the only international events in which Nigerians are not represented.
“I am therefore extending an open invitation to our Nigerian friends: please join us for the next Winter Games, which will be held in 2014 in Sochi , Russia ,” he said.
He said more 80 nations, 5,500 athletes and officials participated in the 17-day Olympic Games and more that 40 nations and 1,300 athletes and officials would participate in the 10-day Paralympics which is soon to begin this month.

is Lagerback a magician,
are the players good enough

If Amodu is not good he should just be removed outright
instead of dealing with the local players. Wake up people and smell the coffee
SportsRe: Amodu Vs Lagerback ' Why Does Africa Lack Faith In Its Coaches? by NSNA(op): 2:27pm On Mar 01, 2010
I guess the question now will be why did they wait for this long to realise he is not good enough
how long did he coach Nigeria for before they realise he is not good enough.

Who told u dat Nigeria is contesting with Ghana?
Wetin concern Nigeria with Ghanian athletes?
this is the kind of response i knew i would get from a typical over hyped Nigerian

that is how Ghana has kept trashing Nigeria in football and other sports.

I am Nigerian by the way,

Nigeria has more money to develop sports than Ghana, more people, more everything, even more people to protest bad decisions by the bad leaders

Nigeria is a joke in many ways

The new coach cost $ 1.6 millions equivalent to 100s of million #

And all other sports are lacking. When it comes to Olympic there is nothing for Nigerians to be proud about

even the current winter Olympic in Canada has a Ghanaian athlete

Shame

This Coach saga is a disgrace to Nigeria.

I can imagine match commentators with their voice over during a Nigeria match saying something like

- There is Lagerbäck on the bench the head coach of the Nigeria National team, he resigned from Sweden after failing to qualify for the world cup

- and there is his assistant Amodu the man that got Nigeria to the world cup with an increased world ranking of 15th position
SportsRe: Amodu Vs Lagerback ' Why Does Africa Lack Faith In Its Coaches? by NSNA(op): 2:42pm On Feb 28, 2010
Amodu quote

"I have achieved so much in terms of coaching that I think the only problem I have is that I'm not a white skin. Otherwise I can claim to be one of Africa's best in coaching."

If the NFA really believe that the rich players should not be coached by someone that they are richer than(laughable reality),

then they should just not call them to the national team and stick with the local boys, they should go and hire the entire team of Enyimba of Aba

You are the Mumu

Think about it for a second, all those foreign coaches mentioned already FAILED in their
jobs to qualify for the world cup.
and then your country removes your own local home-grown successful coach that qualify for the world cup and semi final of the nations cup.

It really does not make any sense anywhere in the world.
The article above is from oyinbo peoples website, which shows their opinion, they most be laughing

If Nigeria does not get to the quarter finals, the excuse would be he did not get enough time.

Inferiority complex at play

Why does Africa lack faith in its coaches?
Talking point

By Glenn Moore

Glenn Hoddle and Sven Goran Eriksson are in Lagos, being interviewed by the Nigerian FA with a view to coaching the Super Eagles at the World Cup.

Lars Lagerback, Bruno Metsu and Ratomir Dujkovic have been seen while Louis Van Gaal, Giovanni Trapattoni, Guus Hiddink, Hassan Shehata and Peter Taylor have rejected the post. These men have two things in common, they are not Nigerian, and, apart from Shehata, an Egyptian Arab, they are white.

They will replace Shaibu Amodu, the Nigerian who steered his countrymen to the finals, and to third place in the Africa Cup of Nations. Having been removed in near-identical circumstances before the 2002 finals, Amodu probably saw this coming. Most people did.

Sub-Saharan African countries rarely go into World Cups with African managers. Teams from the region have competed in the finals 16 times, on 13 occasions they have done so under European management, often French.

Should Amodu be replaced by a European, none of the five sub-Saharan representatives at this year's finals will be led by an African. Why is this? Ian Hawkey's recent book on African football, Feet of the Chameleon, offers several suggestions, among them a quote from Nigerian Celestine Babayaro, once of Chelsea: "For us it's important the boss has a big car." This alludes to the need for the manager to be respected for his achievements in Europe but his compatriot, and former national coach, Stephen Keshi, was blunter, noting a player would "try it on because I am his brother, a black person".

However, Frenchman Philippe Troussier, an old Africa hand, believes the issue is about "politics, not colour", arguing an outsider brings neutrality, so his selections are not dissected for perceived regional or tribal bias. Whatever the reason, it is disheartening for a local coach like Amodu.

All this freezing and seizing,

a good suggestion will be to distribute them to people that need them, they should introduce benefits and start paying single mothers and build free council houses for the poor like developed countries do.

seizing and just leaving them dormant makes it useless

If they should audit all the companies register in Nigeria including those that call themselves small businesses and total their value the result will be gigantic.

USA - Oil
UK - Oil
CHINA - Oil
INDIA - Oil
Russia - Gas
Germany - Oil

With companies like Shell, Total, Texaco, Exxon, Chevron etc

Just to mention the Major players in the world market

Their investments in Nigeria is more than $ 500billion

Then you get many more countries Like South Africa and more from the Middle East with investments in companies Like MTN and Etisalat

Investments total more than $1trillion

That is why if you watch any Nigerian News on any day what you keep hearing is something, something billion dollars

The question now is, does all this reflect on the common Nigerian citizen?

There is a common saying "That you don't pluck money on trees"
Think about it, in Nigeria you can almost literally do this, you can drill for oil, Mine gold, all kinds of Minerals, gas
you can mistakenly drop a seed somewhere and the next time you walk along you see a tree springing up

Then you have the incredible amount Manpower, Young, Energetic, skillful, willing, competitive, smart and brave
And the oldies with all the wealth of knowledge

and then Millions of highly skill Diasporans all over the world highly intact with their Nigeria roots

all of this people wanting for a better Country,

And a bad government
