PoliticsNigeria Discovers Gold by NSNA(op): 10:13am On Jan 28, 2010
http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Money/Business/5517892-147/story.csp

As part of its strategy to harness the potential of the solid minerals sector as engine for economic growth, the federal government says it will focus on the development of the gold reserves in Nigeria. The renewed focus is coming after the discovery of 300, 000 ounces of gold in a survey. In addition to that, 2 million ounces of estimated reserves of gold deposits were recently discovered in 3,000 meters depths.

Diezani Alison-Madueke, minister of mines and steel development, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, listed other minerals in focus to include bitumen/tar sand, coal, iron ore, limestone, barites, and lead/zinc sulphides.

NEXT gathered that bitumen/tar sand reserves are estimated to be about 27 billion barrels of crude oil equivalent; coal reserves (2.7 billion tonnes); iron ore (about 3 billion tonnes); limestone ( about 2.23 trillion tones); barites (14 million tonnes), and lead/zinc (one million tonnes).

WebmastersRe: Nigeria's First Web Conference Hold January 2010: And It Depends On You! by NSNA: 2:05pm On Nov 25, 2009
you mean like a symposium in a hotel in Lagos.

hot topic for such event should be the introduction of a search engine, specialised ads programme for Nigeria and Africa and local language integration into mainstream sites like wikipedia, facebook etc

that will be real development if established players attend, it can be a joint force creating kind of google from scratch.

very good organisation will be needed.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Revealing: What Your NON-PORTRAIT Nairaland Profile Pix Says About You by NSNA: 1:19am On Nov 11, 2009
Username: NSNA

Profile Pix: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=2225

Pix Summary: NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery blasting off into the blue sky. The two detachable SRBs (Solid Rocket Boosters), which provides the Shuttle with thrust, are still attached, suggesting that the Shuttle has not fully escaped earth’s gravitational pull. Once fired off, the SRBs are almost unstoppable until they burn out and/or are detached. SRBs are highly reliable, with a failure rate of less than 1%. PS: Space Shuttle Discovery replaced Space Shuttle Challenger, which exploded after 73 seconds of lift-off, incidentally due to a leak in the SRB.

What your pix says to me: Michelangelo once said, "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." You are not one to be accused of aiming too low; you have your sight set on very high goals that some may even tag a delusion or pipedream - What you've achieved so far shows they are wrong. You view highly complex things and issues in a simple and direct manner – You may want to guard against being simplistic. You see the proper use of technology as a tool to achieve the insurmountable, solve major problems and bring a smile to a face. You have the ability to see the forest (big picture) and perceive things first in context, rather than content. While majority of the population consciously hoard information that may be useful to others, you are 'guilty' of being a Pollinator at heart - You just love to spread and share good news without expecting anything in return, even when you sacrificed dearly to obtain the information - An area of development is learning the ability to say 'No' when appropriate. You look at life in colours and seek to make good things better. Finally, you believe you cannot accomplish your dreams on your own, so you are constantly looking out for value-adding partners (not necessarily financial), dream-movers and vision-helpers – You shouldn’t find that too difficult because you do the same for the dreams of others around you.
