Business / SOLAR KOBO ! Affordable Solar Systems For Nigerians by Nukah(m): 10:40pm On Oct 13, 2017
The Problem
For as long as Nigeria has had electricity, there has always been a problem of inconsistent power supply.

It affects businesses
This has driven businesses to acquire portable electricity generators and fuel them at such huge costs that many businesses struggle to stay afloat, raise prices to break even and in many cases go out of business due to unsustainable energy expenses.

Homes are not insulated
Households are by no means insulated from the problem; rendering processes like food refrigeration impossible and making the use of non-electric lighting (lanterns, candles etc) necessary. Most families acquire gasoline electricity generators despite the fuel cost as well as the noise and air pollution consequences.

Our solution
Given this cost and the unreliability (of both the grid and gasoline/diesel supply for the private generators), solar energy presents a cost-effective alternative limited only by its high upfront cost.

SolarKobo is a renewable energy company that provides affordable and reliable renewable energy solutions for small businesses and households. SolarKobo will bear the upfront cost of a solar system and charge its customers a more palatable monthly fee. Our major value propositions to our customers are the lower energy cost, higher reliability, and better environmental responsibility. This is in addition to the spared inconvenience of dealing with the vagaries of fuel supply for private generators including price hikes and scarcities.

If you're interested and want to make inquiries or want to know more about How the solar system works and maybe would want to have one installed at your home ? Then feel free to drop your number in the comment section below and I will add you to a Solar group on whatsapp.

Here are a couple of comments from his LinkedIn Page:

Nwora Ike Obiora
Attorney at Switch & Lex Solicitors LLP

The assertion “Old age of Methuselah, has nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon” has its validity in Kenneth. His mastery of Corporate Law is unparalleled and can only be compared by the clarity with which he renders such. I make bold to say that anything he does not know about Corporate Law in Nigeria, arguably is not worth knowing.

Chidi Odoemenam
Associate (Capital Markets) at Aluko & Oyebode

Kenneth’s deep appreciation and understanding of Corporate Finance and Corporate Restructuring is unrivaled. Also worthy of note is the ease with which he impacts knowledge with contemporary examples and relevant laws. He will be a real asset to any organization.

Matthias Zechariah
Lecturer at University of Jos
Adjunct Lecturer (Corporate Law), Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus

I taught Mr K.O.D. Okwor in the Faculty of Law, University of Jos. Kenneth is a rare asset to be coveted by everyone and by every organization. Therefore, I recommend him to ALL. Who is waiting to grab at this rare opportunity?
Matthias Zechariah, Esq.

Okwor was a nominee in The Future Awards Africa (2016) Prize for Professional Service, and was listed in YNaija’s ‘The New Establishment’ – an annual list of young Nigerians making defining moves towards shaping the future – for 2017.

Investment / Starting A New Venture In 2017 ? 5 Important Things To Consider by Nukah(m): 3:00pm On Jan 29, 2017
You have a great idea and thought of starting a business out of it years ago. In 2016, you vowed to beat your procrastination and launch with a bang, but that never happened. How do you make it happen in 2017?

What’s your passion?
Managing a business is difficult. Besides packaging your products or services, you need to hire the right hands, raise funds, invest time and resources to meet your customers’ demands. Managing a venture is tasking; however if you are passionate about what you do, you won’t feel as exhausted. It’s easier to start and maintain a business you’re passionate about. You need to identify the one thing that you enjoy doing or something that comes naturally to you and think about how you can monetize it in 2017.

Come up with a solid business idea
When you discover your passion, you need to start thinking about how to make a business out of it. Don’t be afraid to make a move in the new year. Remember, Mark Zuckerberg loved coding, and that was why he built the Face Match in his dorm room. Years later, Zuckerberg coded the algorithm for Facebook. No matter how crazy your idea seems at first, if you keep working on it you can create a product or service out of it that will add value.

Research
Get serious in 2017. When you decide how to turn your passion into a business, you have taken the first step of your journey to launching your business. The next step is to conduct adequate research. At this stage, you will critically examine your business idea and determine its viability. Conducting detailed research allows you to improve on the idea and it also increases your chances of building a profitable brand from your passion.

Plan
Lack of adequate planning is a major hindrance for one to accomplish any goal. You may have a great idea, resources, and people who can support you, but without a plan, nothing will get done. Before the end of January next year, ensure you have a thorough plan for your business idea. It shouldn’t have to be difficult; just outline the core elements of a business plan and they will serve as a blueprint for your new business.

Start
Set your plan in motion. You need confidence, courage, and brevity to get the ball rolling. Make 2017 The Year of Action. You don’t need to wait until you get that huge capital, the perfect location or an online presence. Just start something and with time, other things will fall in place.

Business / 7 Lessons From President Trump That You Can Implement In Your Business. by Nukah(m): 2:28pm On Jan 29, 2017
“A wise person knows there is something to be learned from everyone” – Unknown

I’m a firm believer that success leaves clues, and failure also leaves clues. When someone is successful at something that I want, I sit down and try to analyze and pick out what is useful for me.

During the US Elections I sat and watched and learned. The more I learned, the more I realized that I needed to share these insights with you.

So here we go! 7 amazing lessons from President Trump that could help you be more successful today.

Attention is the new currency
Trump didn’t have to spend as much money on advertising…because he knew how to generate attention and use it to push his own agenda. In this new economy you also need to figure out how to use attention to your advantage.

Hollywood is not reality
When we watch movies we get this idea of America. Similar to what Chimamanda said about the danger of a single story, we think that all Americans think a certain way, and that what we watch on TV is all of reality. Donald Trump showed that he was anti many of the things that we thought Americans loved, and yet he won. In your business you can’t make decisions based on what you see on TV. You need to do your research and really hear what people want, and then attract those people to you.

There are people out there who are looking for you
We get so caught up trying to be like other people. We hear that this person is successful, so we try to be like them – hoping that we will be successful as well. Trump stayed true to himself. He held to his opinions no matter how offensive others may have thought they were. He dressed the way he wanted to dress. He styled his hair the way he wanted to style it. We too must learn that we don’t have to be like anyone else. There are people that will be attracted to us, and to our businesses just as we are; but it’s important that we find that unique aspect of ourselves.

The most vocal people are not always the majority
This is similar to point two about Hollywood; but I also want to point out this distinction. Many of the people on social media, on TV, on whatever medium, said they would not vote for Trump. They did not expect him to win, yet he won. Sometimes in your business the people that complain the most or scream the most, or ask for the most may seem to be the voice of the people, but if you take the time to actually connect with the people – your ideal audience – you will see that your power often lies in the quiet majority.

Your past is important, but not as important as your present
People talked about Trumps past failures, or about his wife’s past indiscretions, but it didn’t matter. The masses were drawn to his present. Sometimes we get so caught up in our past failures and our past decisions thinking that people will never trust us or work with us, or do anything we want them to do. In the end you will find that you can recover from any past decision, if you are able to connect with us in a way that makes sense for us, and you can show us how what you are doing will benefit us.

What is, is not always what must be
When Trump announced he was running for president, many people didn’t take him seriously, because he wasn’t like the others that came before him, so they were sure that he didn’t stand a chance. While I believe in investing in coaches and learning your trade, we also need to give ourselves the freedom to be creative. The ways that people ran their business in the 80’s or 90’s or even the early 2000’s will not be as successful today. So your job is to find the most creative ways to be successful today. Learn the principles, but create new strategies.

Everything is possible
Whatever that dream or that goal, it is possible because today all we need is a dream and a plan of execution. You can connect with people all over the world via the internet, you can take your office with you wherever you go just as long as you have a laptop and internet access. Everything is possible, you are no longer restricted to just one country. Everything is possible – all you need is the right strategy.

So now that you have learned these things, what are you going to do with your power?
