Elegantspiker: Number1benue, isn't a paradox you are in this situation with your kind of moniker? Good evening and I hope this mentions meets you fine. I would have replied you earlier buh a mod gave me a one month ban that ended yesterday. JessicaRabbit: What a quaint and odious statement.
Casual sexism. How gracious of you to acknowledge that women, despite being inherently flawed (according to your benevolent gaze), manage to bring a splash of color to your dull, patriarchal world. And, wow, you even concede that there might be a few exceptions to the rule. How progressive of you. Another stunning display of patriarchal condescension.
It's nice to know that you'd rather eschew actual communication and empathy, just to embroil yourself in a vicious cycle of one-upmanship, where you are more focused on "winning" your partner than on fostering genuine connection and understanding. Good on you, sir.
Your "game" metaphor only works if the prize isn't basic human decency. Wow!!! |
Romance › Re: I Have A Serious Problem Concerning My Relationship With Women. by Number1benue: 9:33am On Jun 01, 2024 |
XhosaNostra: I'd say you're a narcissist, but you're self aware. People like you usually have deep-seated abandonment issues or suffer from fear of rejection. You only skim the surface when it comes to emotions, so noone can get close enough to inflict any sort of pain. Get them before they get you type of thing. Underneath the seemingly uncaring facade, there's actually an extremely sensitive person that's scared to death of getting hurt, so they put up all these defences to protect their mushy core. Something like a human crustacean One person will manage to break down your walls though, mark my words. But it'll only take one person. It won't be easy sailing. There'll be a lot of vacillation between enmeshment & suffocation on your part. Good luck to the poor girl Wow finally....someone who knows better |

Crime › Re: INSIDE LIFE: S€X Worker Narrates Her Pathetic Prostitution Experience In Abuja by Number1benue: 12:47pm On May 28, 2024 |
abdsamad: You're not entirely wrong but there's more to it. How ech person is affected by what one might call similar situations varies. Doesn't make them "just whores". I'm not here to say it's right, I'm saying it's almost always more than that. If i bring 5 ladies who were sexually assaulted, the impact on their life trajectories may be split 5 ways. You can have one who becomes suicidal and severely depressed, to the point that they kill themself shortly after. Another person may become extremely submissive to the point that she is defenseless and easily assaulted more times. Another may bury it and seemingly go on with their normal life. Yet another may turn to drugs and alcohol to help them forget. Another may become strongly feminist and completely hateful of men.
The ages and specific circumstances, as well as their underlying personalities determine the various outcomes.
Will i be surprised to find the one that self medicates with drugs and alcohol involved in prostitution? Not really. She likely ended up with nothing but negative influences, from people in that life. Throw in severe poverty and you have a potent mix.
Others may find themselves in the same boat, via other routes.
It is not correct to reduce them to "just whores".
I have a 16yo who currently has no care in the world about being abused. She wants to be involved in orgies and currently believes she's bisexual. Why? If you say she's "just whoreish" , you've missed the mark. The answer lies in the individual stories. It takes a lot of patience not to simply cast someone and condemn them to hell. They're human beings and the core, they want a dignified life as much as we the supposedly moral and sane ones My opinion though, nairaland and the major Nigerian populace don’t deserve your inept and careful analysis of things like this....... we are far too mentally lazy. Lazy to think rationally and logically give our own quota to national and world issues |
