Don't know how saturated or profitable such erotica niches are.
Please again, what do you say about it? I don't have aby experience with fiction. Those who have dabbled say it's extremely competitive but you can try. |

One more question on my mind. Especially for you and evb2000
Do you think AI will replace KDP Authors in the future? I plan to do this for as long as I can. But I've been wondering if AI will destroy the business in like 4-5 years. Because I have the feeling that if AI becomes good enough, people will just generate their books with AI instead of buying from KDP.
As experts what do you think? I have no doubt that AI cannot replace writers, at least, with what I'm seeing now. My opinion may change later. And I'm not an expert. |

jolak5: Thank you so much. I will start now. Can you explain the product page placement again? Does it mean I will create another ad for product placement or it's a tool that's a part of the former ad? Product placement is simply trying to appear in other books page. When you click any paperback book, scroll below and you'll see sponsored and a list of books below. Those books are being advertised and are showing there using product placement. It might need a video to illustrate it. But once you start, you should get it. |

dreamxhaser: Boss, will $100 be enough for 3 months worth of ADS?
Also assuming I don't do ads and I have a good number of books (let's say 20 books). Can they be generating $100 at least a month.
I want my books to generate the money for their ads themselves.
I don't want to touch the Amazon money now, I just want something I will build with time till i finish school.
So my plan Is to publish books, a lot of quality books. Maybe 20 books by December. Then if they can start generating something tangible ($100 per month). I will divert the money into ADS. 20 books can generate $100 if your keyword research is on point. Even less can generate that. Just make sure you do your research. I usually use $5 daily budget and that can last for a week or so. Your ad budget depends on your strategy though. Some can exhaust $100 in a day and others may not spend up to that in a month. Test. And go with what works for you. |

jolak5: Hey boss,
I would really love to learn more about ads. I have written several books but I don't make so much. Do you mind giving some tips on the ads? I tried it at a point but I wasn't getting any result. Before creating ads, make sure your cover is great. That's what will get you clicks. You can start with auto ads as they can give you fast results and not too complicated. Next, use "Down Only" bidding strategy to prevent overspending. You can start with 0.16. Bid. If you're not getting impressions, increase gradually, such as .02 increments until you start getting impressions. Clicks will come then. Once you start getting clicks, you need to optimize. This can get complicated. But try and sew where you're getting sales by checking placement under your campaign. I'll recommend increasing "product page" placement. You can start with 20% and keep increasing depending on your results. |

watifeb: Hi. Please what range of BSR do you target? I know years ago, it should be within the range of 50k or a Lil bit higher. Just wondering if this still the same, or it has increased since there are more books on kdp Hi, I don't particularly follow BSR much because the competition is extreme now. What I use BSR for is to determine demand in the niche. If there is demand (at least three books with low bsr) I'll go into the niche and prop my book up with ads. That's not to say there are not niches where you can thrive without ads. There are plenty. But I don't touch some niches for personal reasons. |

Business › Re: Making Regular Income Publishing Amazon Kindle Ebooks by nurd(m): 4:49pm On Mar 17, 2024 |
dreamxhaser: Wow! By moredo you mean up to 20k words?
Also how do you know if a competition demands more? Not up to 20k. More like 15k. For example, I may create a 100 page book and price at 8.99. If it sells well, I'll look at the top two books in the niche. In most cases, they'll be priced at 12.99 and above. If they both have like 150 pages or do, I may bump my to like 120 pages and price at 9.99 or 10.99. This is how I personally do it. |
Business › Re: Making Regular Income Publishing Amazon Kindle Ebooks by nurd(m): 3:43pm On Mar 17, 2024 |
dreamxhaser: Hello!
Please do you publish low or high-content books?
Like what is the average word count of your books? I only publish high content. When I first started, I try to publish 20k+ word books. Unfortunately, it was not sustainable. First, it requires a lot of effort for each. Second, some of then end up not selling well. Third, and this is the biggest, the printing cost is way higher and reduces my profit. So I start targeting 8k to 12k words now for around 100 pages. Note: I'll write more if competition demands it. So keep that in mind. |

Excellent tips, boss. I followed you in case you want to drop more tips, thanks alot. I'm going to try to write on phone and edit, format, and publish with my phone. The reason it's hard and frustrating for me is due to my low capacity of my phone — it's just 1 GB ram so it lags a lot.
By the way I assume that when you add more contents, you edit the cover with 'edited version ' or there's no need for that? When I edit this way, I don't touch the cover. If I get a negative review about something in the content and I change that, then I'll edit the cover with 'edited version' so new readers can see the error is no longer there... I followed back. |

SuperOnyi:

Wow, thanks alot boss. I'm really surprised you said "50+ pages" when I actually stress myself trying to hit 20k to 30k words. I used to do that when I first started. But go to the best sellers list, you'll see books with very low bsr having like 100-160 pages. And that is around 15k words or so. So I started targeting between 8k to 12k to publish first. This is what I do. I have a full table of content for each book. After I get to like 100 pages and there are still topics to cover, I put them aside and publish first. If the book starts ranking and is selling well, I go back and add what I can. This way, I can finish a book in two weeks or a month max. I've found this is easier for me than spending two months on a book. Some books will flop. No way around it. (This is for us newbies). So I try to minimize my effort on such books. |

This is impressive. I have been doing this but lack of power supply has frustrated me. I only have three books and sold just 2 paperback sales. So, I can even start running ads with as low as $10? Do you mind telling us the niches? It's okay if you don't want to, I understand. Learn how to edit and write on your phone. It'll be hard but when you don't have a choice, you have to use the available resources. As for ads, you can set as little as $5 as daily budget but you can't exhaust it. I suggest starting with 0.10 as your bid. Increase if you're not getting impressions. I started with 0.15 and I still get sales. I learn kdp is a numbers game, except of course, if you have big bucks for a launch plan and continous advert. So try and publish more by all means, but make it quality. I gun for 50+ pages. I've found the travel niche to be the easiest to make sales. But it is very difficult to write a travel guide well, especially since you won't be visiting most of the locations. |

saydfact: Morning sir, if most of the water comes from the road (where the man stood to take the pics), then construct a gutter (about 600mm deep) on this side of the building we're seeing and channel the water into a shallow well (dig a well, of about 3 rings on the left side).
This should solve the problem.
IF the water comes from the right also, then repeat on that side too (ditto for the four sides).
Keep me updated.
Goodluck This is merely an appreciation post. You have not helped me directly but I find value in your posts. Thank you. |
