Abuharib: Former military head of state, Abdulsalami Abubakar, has warned that Nigerians are angry over the state of the country.
Abubakar said on Monday at a roundtable discussion on security challenges facing the country that political leaders need to find a solution to rising insecurity, Igbere TV reports.
“There is anger in the land and the voices of reason are drowning very rapidly,” he said.
The discourse was organised by the General Abdulsalami Abubakar Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Minna, Niger state capital.
“It is clear that the situation requires that we all live up to the expectations of a nation that puts so much value in elders and leaders,” Abubakar added.
“This roundtable discussion is not a mini-national conference or a forum to review the constitution, neither will it be fixated on those issues that feed the prevailing tensions.
“These are matters that will doubtless appear in our discussions, but they should not be allowed to distract from the key goals of the roundtable discussion.
“We are all here as Nigerians who share responsibility for the state of our nation, therefore if any forum can help in the accurate identification of the problems and solutions for a united peaceful Nigeria, let us be counted among such fora.”

Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Why did Abdulsalam Abubakar wrote a constitution and imposed it on the Nigerians by claiming we Nigerians constitution when he knows very well that the constitution is a military government making and not a democratic constitution?,this his constitution and general Gowon antics are the problems facing Nigeria today. To have everlasting peace, Let the country divide into Arewa, Oduduwa,Biafra, afterall Togo and Cotonou are not up to the sizes of this three region in Nigeria and yet they are sovereign nations enjoying there peace and tranquility |
