To be candid, nothing was taken into consideration. I have a very strong financial situation that is sufficient for a family trip and it won’t still get rejected if I was in another country . I submitted all the necessary documents and well arranged. 1 submitted landed properties and cars all worth more than 200m , have family here as tie and my application was well detailed. It took them just 2 weeks to make a decision. Desmondola2020: |
People’s comment on this platform has really reduced. With the genuine and legitimate information I provided, if my assessment was truly based on proper background checks and not influenced by the Nigerian green passport or our current economic situation, I honestly see no reason why my application should be refused. I have strong ties to Nigeria family, assets, and stable finances. I even applied for just a two-week stay, similar to my recent trips to the UK and Qatar, where I spent only 8 days and 3 days respectively, simply to demonstrate that I am extremely busy in Nigeria and have no intention of overstaying. I returned to apply again for a Canadian visit visa. Although my family application was refused last year, I decided to apply alone this time with a very solid proof of funds (enough to sponsor a full family trip) and substantial assets. At this point, it seems that getting a Canadian visa as a Nigerian requires the grace of God unless one has an immediate family member who is a citizen. This one really surprised me. |
b31164707:Good morning, Boss. Would a transit visa be required when flying with Qatar Airways? Also, would you recommend them, considering they are slightly more expensive than Air Peace for the intended travel period? Airpeace is around 1.560 while Qatar is around 1.650 or 1.7 for the intended period. Kindly advise and recommend the best option. Additionally, I’d appreciate any insights on their stopover experience, as this will be my first time traveling to the UK, and I want to ensure a smooth journey without issues at any entry point. The planned travel month is still June 2025. Thank you. |
onile1975:Boss, my own case is different o that's why I had to go through the whole stress. I will suggest you ask others and have a proper LOE for all your documents for better clarity. I submitted an LOE for my finance, I submitted an LOE for my business separately, submitted LOE for properties and home ties. So my own case is different that's why they needed to do further verification before they arrived at their decision. NB: I was rejected initially when I applied with my family for the first time, the rejection was due to the Visa officer not understanding my finance and sources of income since I used my business Account. I had to use LOE this time around to simplify everything for better clarification. LOE: LETTER OF EXPLANATION. |
onile1975:Good morning boss and thanks. I uploaded everything myself on vsf site. |
VISIT VISA ALERT!!! Thank God, we did it in the end! I truly appreciate Providus Bank for standing by me during this challenging time and thanks to you all. Yes, I initially received a 10-year ban due to a mistake by the embassy, where they wrongly flagged my document as false. However, Providus Bank stepped in, verified my details, and confirmed that I am their customer with a legitimate bank statement. Their intervention helped set things right. My Visa Journey: • Biometric Submission: 10th December 2024 • Further Document Verification Request: 10th January 2025 • Rejection & 10-Year Ban Notification: 29th January 2025 • Passport Collection Notification: 5th February 2025 Upon receiving my passport, I noticed two visas one was canceled with a red pen (likely when the ban was issued), and after my bank intervened, a new visa was granted. All thanks to God and a big thank you to Providus Bank for their support! |
Thanks so much 🙏 Jolene474: |
Gratitude & Progress Update 🙏 I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone for their support and advice regarding the 10-year visa ban issue. Your encouragement and kindness have been deeply meaningful to me and my family! I’m relieved to share that PROVIDUS BANK did an amazing job defending me and speaking on my behalf after I reached out to them. Their swift response (A positive response to be precise) has given me hope, and I’m feeling much better than I was a few days ago. I also took your advice and officially sent a complaint to the UK Home Office. Now, we’re on standby, trusting the process and hoping for a positive outcome in the coming days or weeks. Thank you all once again, your support has been incredible! I’ll keep you posted. |
Jolene474:I already sent an email.. Thanks to you all. Can you please send me your email address or any of your social media handle so I can contact you directly for guidance on the physical copy to home office? |
davodyguy:Sir, it is whoever is going through this that understands it better. You might be experienced but I know what I am talking about. I attached an image showing how I uploaded my finance on vsf site and it's obvious my documents are independent and explicit enough. Furthermore, I was at the bank to take this up and I was shown and sent the statement UK shared with them to verify the opening and closing balance. It was just a 4 page document with first two being the main account while the last two being the other account. Don't forget one of my statement has more than 1,500 pages and the other has less than 40 pages or so. They might have limitation to size of document and decided to pick just the first two pages as they have done and the last two since that's the most important for their verification process. My God will help me and I pray it end well. |
Dear All, please everyone, all of you with a proposed solution. I am completely at a loss and don’t know what to do anymore. After thorough investigation, I have discovered that the error was from the UK embassy. I was shown the exact statement sent to Providus Bank for verification, and here is what happened: I submitted two business accounts (both with Providus Bank) and clearly explained the details of both in my Letter of Explanation (LOE). My main account has over 1,500 pages, while the sub-account has about 38 pages. Due to the large volume of pages, the UK embassy extracted only the first two pages of my main account statement (which included the correct heading, date range, available balance, and all relevant details). However, they mistakenly combined it with the last two pages of my sub-account, which has a significantly lower balance. The embassy then sent this mismatched document to Providus Bank for verification along with other inquiries. Providus Bank responded accurately based on the information they received. However, the last two pages (from the sub-account) did not contain an account number or balance at the top—it was simply merged with the first two pages from the main account. One of the key questions from the UK embassy was for Providus Bank to confirm the opening and closing balance of my account. Providus confirmed the opening balance but couldn’t verify the closing balance since it wasn’t from the same account, and they responded accordingly. I HAVE ALL MY EVIDENCE, INCLUDING THE BANK STATEMENT THE UK EMBASSY SENT TO PROVIDUS BANK FOR CONFIRMATION. I am now stuck in a devastating situation due to an error I did not commit, and the worst part is that I have no way to reach out to the UK embassy for further clarification. P.S.: I have reconfirmed the exact document I uploaded on the VFS portal, and I am 100% certain about its accuracy. Please, I need urgent help.

PP123:It's a business Account sir and I am the director of the business. CAC document clarifies this and this has nothing to do with the issue on ground sir. |
giselle237:Why shouldn’t my account officer have reached out to me or been able to speak on my behalf, knowing that this is a business account that she manages? She is fully aware of my account activities and can attest to its authenticity. The fact that she later asked if I submitted my statement to the embassy clearly shows that she was contacted regarding the verification internally. This means she was aware of the situation but still failed to act in my best interest. I have now sent the email to Providus Bank as you suggested, and I also copied CBN, since the statement was generated directly from their system. I am 100% certain about the authenticity of the statement I submitted. Yet, here I am being punished for an offense I know nothing about, and I have been left in limbo. I don’t even know if Providus Bank confirming the statement now would be enough to rectify this devastating 10-year ban. 10 years is a long time, sir. This is a heavy blow. |
giselle237:Can you guide me on how to go about this cos I am.in the state of limbo and I am very certain that if Providus bank should revisit this by spooling the bank statement with the same date range, they will surely see the mistake is from their end. I just downloaded the same bank statement used now from the internet banking platform and all information there is perfectly correct. Can you guide me on what to do or the next step to take please? |
giselle237:I hope you saw my message and conversation with the account officer as well. I generated statement from the internet banking and are you saying the statement generated from the internet banking is not sufficient enough to apply for visa and why will Providus say it's not genuine when it can easily be verified on their system. |
My mail to Providus |
I need urgent advice on what to do at this point. I am a business owner doing well in Nigeria, but I have never traveled out of the country before. I submitted my bank statement and other supporting documents to the UK embassy for a visit visa. It seems they contacted my bank (Providus) to verify my statement. The statement was generated directly from my internet banking platform—it’s a heavy statement with a clear financial track record. Shortly after, my account officer reached out to ask if I had submitted my statement to the embassy, which I confirmed (as seen in the images below). Despite this, I just received an email from the UK embassy informing me that I submitted a false document and have been banned for 10 years. I am completely in shock because my business account details are 100% accurate, and I have never falsified any document. Providus Bank never reached out to me for clarification before responding to the UK embassy. My account officer is fully aware of my business, the legitimacy of my transactions, and my financial standing. However, she is extremely slow and does not act promptly. I have never traveled outside Nigeria before, and I wasn’t even planning to stay long in the UK. My goal was simply to use my passport for the first time and keep my travel history open, knowing that I am financially capable of travelin. @Jolene, @Davodyguy, and everyone in the house, what can I do to appeal or defend this 10-year ban? I have already sent a strongly worded email to Providus Bank calling out their unprofessionalism, but I urgently need a solution to this problem. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

davodyguy:Please how can I contact you or send a private message to you. I have an emergency on my application that requires an urgent attention. Can I have a whatsapp or call number please or can you please send your email address so I can contact you directly. |

Davodguy and others please. I got this mail from UK since last week 10th of January and up till now they haven't sent any message or made any decision. I did my Biometric on the 10th of December in Ikeja and it's a visit Visa. Is anyone also in my shoes and how long did it take them to get back to you please.
|
Elfavour:Same here. I initially applied with my wife and daughter, but we got rejected. Now I’m reapplying alone, but there’s been a delay in the process. Please don’t forget to inform us when you get the congratulatory message. I pray I receive mine soon too. |
Elfavour:I received the mail on the 10th too. Exactly 1 month from the date I did my bio |
Did Biometric for visit visa since 10th of December at VSF IKEJA and I got this email recently telling me they are unable to make a decision at this time and they will continue to process my application. Who else got this same update and what's the current status of your Visa application BIKO or how long will I have to wait to hear from them? It's getting longer than expected here and I am a bit worried.
|
davechuks1234:Up until this moment, there’s still no update from them. I haven’t received any email, and my dashboard on the VSF site still shows ‘no decision made yet. I’m staying hopeful and holding on to the belief that the delay might be a positive sign for a successful outcome. Rejections or denials usually don’t take this long. It’s almost a month now(29 days to be precise)since I did my biometrics on December 10, 2024 |
davechuks1234:you are not alone. My Biometric was done on the 10th of December and up till this moment I haven't received any email and I am a bit worried. I have decided to wait till Friday to make it exactly one month and I hope they will get back to me. |
Quick one to the ladies pls. If I decide to have the doll does this mean I am cheating? |
Good morning everyone. Please kindly take this advice its going to help you during and after service. NB: The ready made Corpers(The Big boy and girls that are from a rich home) might ignore this advice because they have jobs waiting for them or they have connections to get a job. Have you ever asked your self this simple question. Why are you serving our father land and why do they want us to serve? Serving is only adding value to your life if you find your self in your area of specialization or in a corporate environment where you are also adding value to their operation. 90% of corps member are always posted to local governments or schools if they are not serving in Lagos. This is the main reason why you should utilize your service year instead of wasting your time in one rural area or local government for 11months of serving. If you are not posted to Lagos, Abuja, Oyo or PH. Try as much as possible to redeploy to any of the state most especially Lagos where you can easily get a PPA that will add to your experience. Recently companies in Lagos recruits candidates with experience and most of them are not training graduate anymore because they are cutting cost. Try as much as possible to use your one year to add value to your area of specialisation. For the accounting graduates or those that want to practice in the field of accounting, this is the best time for you to start your ICAN. We just finished May Diet 2017 yesterday and the next diet will be in November. If you are an accounting graduate try to use this opportunity to start your ICAN if redeployment doesn't work for you instead of wasting your service year. ICAN is not as expensive as people think and payments are not done at once, you can register with just 11k or so then attend lectures before September when you will have to pay for exams (make your enquiry). Luckily for those that will be serving in North ICAN already made some centers available at a cheaper price where you can receive lectures for 3500 per course and 14,000.00 in total for 4 papers, I enjoyed this freebies when I was serving in Ilorin. For those with skills (hand work) try to use this opportunity to meet people and sell yourself because there is no job outside there. NYSC created this special program called SAED (skill acquisition and entrepreneur development) it is a special program where you will be trained on how to be your boss. Many of us didn't take this program serious then but up till date many are regretting because they are still at home without any job. Learning a skill doesn't stop you from becoming a manager its even an even use for you to diversify and make more income without affecting your current position but people always have this mentality that "I cannot learn any skill" which is the reason why some are still at home doing Somthing till date. Finally try to make connections and be humble because you never can tell, your bunk mate might be the son or daughter of the top politicians or top managers of a company who can be the one to help after service (tho the chance is very slim). Do all you can to ensure you add value to your self and also have Somthing to offer to the public after service. life after service is not easy only 20% outta all get a good job after service. This is the best time to develop your self for after service life. Thank you. |
