Some LG are getting direct funding from FG. Please can you educate us on what is happening in Osun concerning the LG funds?

On the rest I will not say anything because I already know your stance on subsidy
grin

......Osun’s case is quite funny. Both APC and PDP won’t allow the LGs to breathe. Ademola made a serious mistake, he shouldn’t have sacked the APC “Yes/No” Chairmen.

He made another mistake by ignoring the court order and the CTC interpretation by the AGF. If he had obeyed the court order, the Yes/No Chairmen and their Councillors would have vacated their seats by October.

FG has released LG allocations, but each Local Government account was originally opened by the APC Chairmen. The State Government quickly rushed to obtain a court injunction barring UBA from releasing the funds to them. Just last week, the State Assembly even passed a bill mandating that LG funds must be managed by the Local Government Commission.

The recent Supreme Court judgment didn’t favour either party, so the funds remain trapped in UBA. LOL!

I am not a farmer but na because of farmers I get job. Companies will make loses because farmers will be unable to pay back the loans given to them because of the crash in price
grin

.....I know the crash in price really hurt, but PBAT indeed warned. Some Farmers were hoarding their produce, some were even exporting it to Niger and Chad.

They made FG regret Anchor Borrowers initiative by hoarding or not selling to local markets. The crashing is just for the interim, Farmers will smile again, same as you guys.

Tinubu did well in
1. Minimum Wage
2. Financial Autonomy to LG
3. Foreign Exchange
4. Students' Loan.

He did bad in allowing free importation of commodities like maize and how he is handling security issues.

Remi was awarded a title which is the crown on her head.
She invited multiple dignitaries to grace the occasion and obviously had multiple speakers which they allotted time to speak

Demola in his usual self decided to overshoot the allotted time by singing and dancing. Then Remi went to tell him that once his 5mins is done, he will have to give up the mic

Tell me what is wrong with that? If every speaker instead of spending 5mins spend 30mins to dance and sing. what now becomes of the event?

If singing and dance dey hungry Demola, he should book a stadium on his own time, this is December many concert are scheduled, he should do his own too where people will know they came for concert to see him sing and dance

The people complaining just show that we do not hate indiscipline we jut prefer it to be done by our favorite people

If it was Obi who cautioned a top dignitary to keep to time, this place would be filled with his praises by now

We are stating the same thing. There's a Benin Republic account on X this minute posting hour by hour updates of bombings and shootings going on there.

Coup is treasonable.

Asking a foreign government to invade your country is treasonable.

It's a stalemate.

We should never have admitted it was us bombing - we should have been silent. That's what the U.S. does in Latin America.
grin

..........they called for help, Nigeria responded and delivered. That’s all matter, rest na story bruh.

We can’t allow a repetition of Niger scenario in the South, that ain't gonna happen. ECOWAS Standby Forces are already on ground to clear off the planet, the remaining Coupists.

You do realize the report you posted is an official confirmation that Nigeria actually invaded a sovereign nation, right?

Worse even, no part of the official statement mentioned Tinubu consulted with the NASS - he took a unilateral decision to invade a sovereign country on "saving democracy" grounds?

You also realize all our arguments that Trump can't invade Nigeria on "saving Christians" grounds have been rendered invalid, right?

Already, all of the 4 or 5 military dictatorships in West African will increase their hostilities against Nigerians in their domains and particularly consider us threats.

Go on X; many strong APC guys are condemning the bombing.

We handled this one badly. We should never have officially admitted to invading and bombing a sovereign nation.

South Africans are having a field day on X, mocking our hitherto claims of Pan-Africanism.

Acting on two separate requests from the Government of Benin, President Tinubu first ordered Nigerian Air Force fighter jets to enter the country and take over the airspace to help dislodge the coup plotters from the National TV and a military camp where they had regrouped.

The Republic of Benin, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Note Verbal, requested immediate Nigerian air support "in view of the urgency and seriousness of the situation and to safeguard the constitutional order, protect national institutions and ensure the security of the population."

In the second request, the authorities in Benin requested the deployment of Nigerian Air Force assets within Beninoise airspace for surveillance and rapid intervention operations under Benin-led coordination.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

President Tinubu commends Nigeria's Armed Forces for protecting democracy in Benin Republic

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the gallantry of Nigeria's military on Sunday for responding swiftly to the request by the Government of Benin Republic to save its 35-year-old democracy from coup plotters who struck at dawn today.

The Benin government also requested Nigerian ground forces, "strictly for missions approved by the Beninese Command authority in support of the protection of constitutional institutions and the containment of armed Groups."

Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, said all the requests have been fulfilled, with Nigerian ground forces now in Benin.

"Ours is to comply with the order of the Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces, President Tinubu," he said.

Constitutional order was upended in the Republic of Benin, Nigeria's neighbour, when some soldiers led by Colonel Pascal Tigri announced a coup on Sunday morning. The putschists seized the National TV and claimed they had toppled President Patrice Talon and suspended all democratic institutions.

It took some hours before the government's loyal forces, assisted by Nigeria, took control and flushed out the coup plotters from the National TV.

In his remarks after the restoration of the democratic and constitutional order, President Tinubu saluted the Nigerian armed forces for standing firm as a protector and defender of democracy.

“Today, the Nigerian armed forces stood gallantly as a defender and protector of constitutional order in the Republic of Benin on the invitation of the government. Our armed forces acted within the ambit of the ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance. They have helped stabilise a neighbouring country and have made us proud of their commitment to sustaining our democratic values and ideals since 1999. Nigeria stands firmly with the government and people of the Republic of Benin."

........We were winning the war against banditry and terrorism until the coup in Niger happened. Nigeria should have restored the democratically elected government, but we allowed politics and internal noise to make us step back.

The aftermath is clear: the military regime in Niger withdrew their troops from the MNJTF, giving terrorists and bandits an easy escape route. They retreat into Niger to evade the Nigerian Army, regroup, and then launch repeated attacks on our country.

We cannot allow a similar situation in the South, especially in the South-West. Thank you, Mr. President, for taking decisive action.

NNAMDI KANU’S AVOIDABLE ORDEAL: HOW AMATEUR LEGAL SHOWMEN LED A HIGH-PROFILE CASE INTO A JUDICIAL AMBUSH

WHEN JUSTICE BECAME A PERFORMANCE: THE TRAGIC CONSEQUENCE OF TURNING NNAMDI KANU’S TRIAL INTO CONTENT

I had genuinely intended, out of sheer exhaustion and out of respect for the sensitivity of this moment, to refrain from revisiting this saga. But the avalanche of calls, messages, and trembling voices from our people has made silence no longer an option.

I am therefore compelled to offer sober introspection, especially as someone who successfully steered this very case for nearly a decade, securing landmark victories, unassailable legal milestones, and enduring a long trail of threats, assassination attempts, and brushes with death. Through all of this, Grace remained my only constant protection.

However, after Thursday’s spectacle, correcting the wild conjectures, poorly manufactured narratives, and brazen misinformation now circulating like a digital epidemic has become absolutely necessary.

THE FIRST REVELATION THEY WON’T TELL YOU

During the period our team handled this matter, from 2015 to December 2024, up until Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, assumed leadership of the legal team in 2022; we were on the threshold of securing yet another major relief for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, particularly after the Court of Appeal discharged and acquitted him in 2022. Sustained pressure, strategic diplomacy, and airtight legal maneuvering had placed us on the verge of another monumental breakthrough.

Regrettably, certain sensitive details of this progress were, perhaps innocently, disclosed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to some of these clueless clowns. Rather than support a strategy they barely understood, they seized the information as an opportunity to derail the entire process and treacherously orchestrated a change in the status quo. Consequently, we exited the team, gloriously, and with our integrity intact.

Let us speak plainly:
A high-profile, internationally sensitive criminal trial is not a circus ring.
But once these bloated, delusional entertainers-in-wigs inserted themselves into the process, everything degenerated into a grotesque parody of legal representation.

Instead of crafting legal strategy, they crafted Instagram stories.
Instead of mastering case law, they mastered camera angles.
At every court session, their priority wasn’t research or preparation, it was posing, filming, updating, grandstanding, and “going viral.”

Meanwhile, the accused man’s fate hung by a thread.

THE MOST TRAGIC PART OF IT ALL

Even after the court explicitly warned that self-representation in a complex constitutional and criminal matter was dangerous, these “consultants” encouraged it, clapping like paid spectators in a village arena.

And so the unthinkable happened:
1. A trial that could have been paused, or avoided ab initio, had the proper methodology and engagement been applied.
2. A conviction that could have been prevented.
3. An outcome that was entirely avoidable, yet allowed to proceed under the guidance of legal lightweights intoxicated by social-media relevance.

They railroaded him, knowingly or unknowingly, into the savage pit of a full criminal trial, fully aware that other lawful avenues existed.

Even while the trial was ongoing, they busied themselves with dishing out falsehoods, half-truths, and misleading “updates” to an unsuspecting public.

Every lie told outside the courtroom became a landmine inside the courtroom.
Every exaggerated “update” became a contradiction the prosecution gleefully documented.
Every camera stunt became a professional embarrassment.

And now, instead of remorse, they have resumed their post-trial routine:
fresh videos, fresh lies, fresh false hopes, desperate for clicks.

The tragedy continues because the vulnerable still believe them.

THE GREATEST PUZZLE OF ALL

How did foremost legal minds, globally respected Senior Advocates of Nigeria such as Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, Chief Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, and other erudite members of the Inner Bar; men fully versed in the anatomy of high-wire criminal litigation, become disengaged at the most critical moment of the trial, only for mediocre adventurers to hijack a matter of international significance and reduce it to a TikTok legal carnival?

Who replaces world-class physicians with herbal storytellers during brain surgery?
Who replaces strategic diplomacy with reckless grandstanding?
Who replaces law with theatrics?

Only a system already preparing for disaster.

WHERE WE GO FROM HERE
For any meaningful rescue effort by globally respected legal experts, the first task must be to clean up the monumental damage inflicted by these self-advertising jesters. A comprehensive review of methodology, effective engagement, and drastically reduced publicity must precede any intervention. Only then can a coherent, sophisticated legal and political strategy be fashioned.

This is not the time for comedy.
Not the time for inflated egos.
And certainly not the time for social-media theatrics.

It is time for soberness.
Time for competence.
Time for real advocacy.
