People are free to speak whatever language they want to campaign with, wetin go end am na loss, or victory as in the case of Donald Duke.

The universal language of administering states in Nigeria is English, and anybody that speaks English would do just fine.

GRV speaks English, sufficient Yoruba and sufficient Igbo (the two most widely spoken local dialects in Lagos)...if ability to converse in local dialects was the only criteria, he's arguably the most qualified.

Anybody telling you that you need to speak the local language to administer any of the states in Nigeria is serving you chilled bobo, whether it's Uche P. Okoye, or anybody for that matter.

And winning elections is not quite same thing as governing well, we're not lacking in politicians that can or are winning elections.

38 administrators speaking only Mandarin with English translators by their side will deliver better governance than what we're being served in Nigeria by our indigenous language speaking governors and president.

He said what Obi left behind was enough to clear what he owed. That has not been disputed.

Secondly, I don't know why you are showing me Obiano's debt.

I have asked you why Soludo is saying that Water Corporation has not been paid till today, when they have been paid since 2014.

Obiano cleared that debt. So why is Soludo paying it in 2026?

So what exactly is the issue here? And why is Soludo trying to scam that debt into Anambra's purse?

These are the questions you should be asking.

This letter was written a month into the tenure of Peter Obi, and he was already owing arrears

You'd see in part (i) of the letter, the Chief of Staff was pleading with Peter Obi to appeal to the president to clear the outstanding salaries, meaning that most likely, the water board staffs were staffs of the federal government at some point, and had a chunk of those arrears owed them by the FG, not Anambra State, and certainly not Peter Obi who was just a month in.

...this was further highlighted by the Chief of Staff's use of "subvention", implying Peter Obi takes on salary payment that was not originally/truly the state's responsibility to bear.

If the water board staffs and their arrears weren't exactly Anambra State's government responsibility, it can be said that the promise Peter Obi made in (iii) was not broken.

I might be wrong, but that's my assessment of the letter.

Also, I know Edo State Water board staffs were owed salaries back then too, odds are at some point there was a transfer of water board administration from FG to State, and with it came liabilities like salary arrears...add that they functioned as a parastatal that collected salaries while not being able to perform their job...easy to see why they got handled by states in the manner they were (not saying it's their fault tho).

And I heard Peter Obi tried reaching a settlement with them on their arrears, but they found his offer unacceptable and sued the state.

This is also the same Anambra State governor, One year after he resumed office, confirming that he has finally paid them.

So which debt is Soludo still paying?

Like I said, the more you press this matter, the more we see sense with Obi

I would strongly advise APC to just focus on what Tinubu has done, and leave this man alone
